Great overnight. Side tie-up in front of museum. Docks are in good shape. Museum is worth a tour, a lot of history happened here. Great dinner and vibe at the Ship to Shore restaurant.

Nice museum, cute town, great restaurants near by, nice staff and clean bathrooms/showers.

Jim, the Dockmaster was EXCELLENT! He went out of his way to advise us about the currents, tides, and how best to tie up. He even telephoned us when we were about an hour away to give us a heads up about some logs floating in the river. The facilities were in good shape. Bathrooms and showers clean and nice. BEST wi fi we have ever had at a marina! And the town of Kingston was very pretty and very walkable. We ended up staying 2 extra nights because we liked it so much. 10 stars for Jim, his staff, and the marina.

Dockmaster Jim was very helpful and accommodating at our arrival, bathroom and shower facilities are very modern and clean. Always lots of interesting activities going on on their waterfront, and in the museum, so is a great place for boaters to relax and enjoy, and is only a short walk to great restaurants.

It’s a wonderful spot. We were met by a very gracious host who provided a map of the area, dining recommendations, a code to the very clean bathroom/shower facilities, and an offer to tour the interesting museum.

Small, quiet and accommodating. Floating dock, close proximity to restaurants, clean modern bathrooms, good power and water pressure. Everyone was friendly, helpful and very accommodating to our needs.

Very nice dockmaster and location was great.
by Donald S. on Aug 16, 2023
This is the third time this year that we docked here. Each time Jim,dock master, has been absolutely wonderful. He picks up phone immediately and calls back if there is a problem on the creek. Would not want to dock at any other marina on the creek. Docks are clean and easy on-off from boat. Great marina!

Dockmaster Jim is so nice it is refreshing. Great marina and museum.

Very nice facility and admission to museum is included with your dockage. Museum is small but well done!
We didn't dine out but did walk into town (short walk). Several nice looking restaurants and a wine bar. Good stop.
by Robert G. - Verified user on Aug 08, 2023
Jim the Dockmaster was so helpful with helping us secure our boat, and explaining all that there was to do in Kingston
by Douglas M. - Verified user on Aug 03, 2023
Beautiful area, close to restaurants. Very quaint, museum and boat building shop on site. The staff was helpful and make an extra effort to make you feel comfortable. Just wish docks were more secure at night. Could use more lighting and maybe cameras at night since the docs are very open to the public. The short walk to the bathrooms has stones and is not private or well lit. The men’s and women’s bathrooms (entry by keypad) both have a single shower each and overall the facilities are adequate.
Marina Response:
Thank you for your review, Douglas.
Your suggestions are appreciated. We are in the process of setting up more cameras and
adding lighting to the walkway to the bathrooms.
We are always open to suggestions on how to make everyone's stay here enjoyable and safe.

To start, I don't give five stars to marinas with out pools. That being said: the booking process was easy. The dockmaster helpful; the town had charm and there were good restaurants close by. We are 55' trawler with single screw. We got in with help at floor, left at slack without help, and enjoyed our stay. The museum is definetly worth it.

by Scott P. - Verified user on Jul 14, 2023
Should only give 1 star so everyone doesn’t want to come here. Best place to stay in Kingston. 1st time visitors should take the time and visit the actual museum and check out the light house when they are running tours.

Floating docks are great. Love the museum. Enjoyed watching the rowing teams. Dockmaster doesn't respond to radio, so we tied up in one spot and had to move once the dockmaster arrived. He was very helpful once arrived. Facilities are close by and clean.

Great marina. Good docks. Friendly staff. Very nice showers! Lot's to do in town, including the Maritime Museum, Trolley Museum, Catskill Railroad, shopping, and restaurants.
Far enough from the bridge being sandblasted that there is minimal noise.

Many many thanks to Jim for making our visit so enjoyable. He called us to let us know that a cancellation occurred leaving a place for us on Saturday night. We stayed two nights and may very well return. The Maritime Museum is very well done and maintained to the highest standard. We highly recommend a visit here.

Nice tie up in front of the museum. Water was across a little waterway so we opted not to hook up. Electricity was good. Museum is interesting and cute. We ate at Ship to Shore and had a fantastic steak dinner! Very cute little town.

Marvellous stop. The Maritime Museum is a must see. Great biking.
by Kyle W. - Verified user on May 12, 2023
What a lovely town with so many restaurants and cafes to chose from within a 5 minute walk. There are several museums in the town also (and of course the maritime museum admission comes free with the docking).
There are also some nice trails (especially to the NE of the town on the old rail lines).
Only negative is that there isn't a good grocery store in easy walking distance (but you can get a cab to the supermarkets just out of town)

Nice people and the museum is always worth the visit. Only issue with COVID the Boaters Welcome Center is closed so the showers and bathrooms are unavailable. Not a big deal and the dockage fee goes to a good cause.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum is one of our favorite destinations while we cruise the Hudson River! The museum is a great attraction in its own right and the Kingston riverfront community offers great dining and shopping opportunities.

Another enjoyable visit, our second. The tie-along-side floating pier is solid, well-maintained. The new restroom in the boat shop is available 24/7; current shower is "rustic" but clean, roomy (and a new shower will be on-line soon). Museum is a treasure! Bus makes uptown "Stockade" area easily accessible; lots of history there. Also a good base from which to rent a car to visit other nearby attractions like Hyde Park mansions.

Museum is worth a visit during your stay - the models are amazing.
Part of facility is under construction and will vastly improve shoreside restrooms and showers. This will upgrade our rating.
Dockmaster was very experienced and helpful - one of the few dock people that could actually cleat a line.

50A receptacle was too worn to hold the plug, so had to make do with a single 30A. Stubby posts instead of cleats on floating docks are difficult to use for tall boats - line angle risks pulling line up and off. Men's shower room could use an update. Otherwise, perfect location in town, and lots of interesting things to see in close proximity. Friendly staff.
