Staff were very accommodating to us, but they had an annual meeting going on so lunch on the porch was not possible. They set a table for us in the library and that worked but we didn't have a view of the harbor. Not a big deal, but would of been good to know before we made the 15 mile run to "Have Lunch".
Ken at the pool was great with my grandson and he seemed very knowledgeable of the area. He's a great asset to the WHYC for sure.

Easy, beautiful harbor and town.

friendly dock staff, clean mooring with pick up, could not evaluate food service as the YC was closed for the lobster boat races

We had an awesome time! Launch service from dock to moorings was very helpful.

Not really a complaint, just a heads up. If you travel with a dog and need shore access after 5:00, it could be a really long ride in your dinghy. The staff was very nice. If you have a little bit larger tender, we recommend the ride around the point to the commercial area and town wharf. Take a short walk into the "business district". Food, provisions, 5&10 cent store, good views. Adam Kaufman
We visited again in July of 2026 and have really fallen in love with this location. We stayed two nights to ride out what was supposed to be a big storm with rain and winds out of the Northeast. It was the perfect spot even if the storm fizzled out quite a bit. The staff at the WHYC are very kind and the launch was ready when we wanted it. It is an easy one mile walk to the small town but it had everything we wanted. It is on the Schoodic National Scenic Byway. You can rent bikes nearby and there is a ferry to Bar Harbor. It is a good home base for exploring points East and North. We plan to spend at least four nights the next time that we get here. The Kaufman's on Bodacious Sabre 38 Express Hardtop

Winter Harbor is a great spot. The folks at the yacht club are great. There are some great hikes on Schoodic Point. We had fantastic meals at the Treehouse and a fun meal at the Musquito Harbor Brewery. While the YC has a launch, it doesn’t run late. If you’re going into town, it’s actually easier to take your dinghy to the town dock. The only downside is that it can get a bit rolly. Otherwise, definitely add it to your itinerary.

This is a very rolly anchorage. You are exposed to incoming swells and wakes from other boats.

Lovely spot. Friendly staff. Nice classic older yacht club. You can dinghy to the town dock and it’s a ten minute walk to the grocery store.

Beautiful harbor! You can walk ~1 mile into town from the YC, or do a short hike across the peninsula for spectacular views of Frenchmans Bay & Mt. Desert Island. The staff at the YC were all very friendly & the launch service is an added plus. We'll definitely be back!

Staff were super nice. Great location to explore Acadia National Park at Schoodic and then relax in the heated pool up the hill. Town with restaurants and provisions is just a mile away. Highly recommended stop.

The highlight here is the service. As we approached our mooring the staff came out in the launch to escort us to the mooring. Launch service is included in the mooring fee, and the launch was prompt and courteous. I did not give a 5 star rating due to the fact that the facilities are only open for limited hours, and there is only one shower and toilet per gender. Also, the dinghy dock was completely full, leaving no room for visitors. Still, this is a charming, historic yacht club and we enjoyed our stay.
