The owner was extremely rude. The facilities were covered in mold. And no one on property seemed to know anything at all about boats. Save your money and time.

After visiting many Marinas East of Tampa Bay I stopped into Shell Point. After reading some of the reviews, I didn't expect much. 7 months later here is what I have seen: 1. An exceptional group of people that work hard to make improvements daily to the Marina and people who truly care about making the marina the best it can be. Thhe new Ownership has put hundreds of thousands of dollars into new roofs for the racks, new operating machinery, soon to be new pavement and a new office building with a spot to sit back and enjoy after a long day out on the rooftop. All of the crew here work hard everyday and it shows. It will not be long before that waitlist becomes years, so if you have a chance visit, try to get in. I wouldn't wait.

Previous owners (the reviews that are BEFORE June 2021) were AWESOME! The new owner Thomas and admin Paula Weeks are horrible people to deal with. Shell Point damaged our boat, the staff verbally admitted to it but Thomas and Paula refused to be liable. I hope every boat owner in this Marina knows that they can drop your boat, or damage it with the loader like they did to ours, admit to it and not be liable. After I gave Paula the estimate I asked that the owner call me, he refused. Melia TOLD us that the Marina would do right by us and have the boat fixed. When I told them the boat was under warranty and my dealer would have to repair, they suddenly did not want our business anymore. 3 increases in monthly fees in 3 months, tells me where this business is headed. They removed our boat from the rack with out telling us or asking permission to re-measure and increase my boat from a 20 ft to a 22 ft is their MATH. These are ALL FACTS, there is nothing made up, no "feelings" involved, just the facts. The WORST customer service I have EVER had. Owner NEVER offered to repair a thing, told me to contact his lawyer, and gave me the lawyers number if I was interested in following up on fixing their damage.

Horrible place. There is nasty thieving people that have no problems being disgusting. The new management is a joke and it's severely over priced. Thomas Hudson is rude and the thief!!!!! Stay away if you value your boat.

The worst marina ever. I can describe Shell Point Marina Ruskin like - ALL ABOUT MONEY! The new managers Thomas and Paula don’t care about customer. They did our bottom job and charged our credit card almost double. Stay away from these thieves.

Prior to the new ownership it "was" a nice marina..
Unfortunately that has changed considerably..
Had my vessel on the hard for 2 yrs doing a full refit.. as the other review stated, the power frequently went out, even when nothing was plugged in, every time it rained there was a pond under my boat.. had to constantly tighten the stands as they continued to sink in the sand..
They claim to have amenities that aren't actually provided.. access to water "if" you bring a 200' hose, outlets are over crowded and a liability at best..
They charged me twice for the same invoice on two separate dates 2 weeks apart, when I questioned wether I'd be reimbursed, they told me they "lost" my original contract.. just lost it.. and refused to refund me the added $1200.00
When going back across my past statements I found more discrepancies.. when I questioned them, I was asked to leave.. the owner considers himself a "pirate".. if stealing from your customers is business as usual.. he might be one.. as such the only recourse is small claims.
They say they offer pump out for holding tanks, the equipment is there, it just doesn't function.
They say they have a large pavilion, with old pictures of when it was nice,.. now you better be updated on your tetnus shots, as everything is covered in rust.. if you're looking to store your boat in a rack, you'd be wise to inspect it prior and after the forklift transports it, as they are known to drop boats on the bunks, causing gelcoat damages.. good luck getting reimbursed.. might be wise to make sure the bunk they're placing it on isn't broken or cracked as well from dropping someone else'
They claim to have repair services on site,.. false.. they had private contractors.. but with the new 10% charge for all work done and the requirement of the boat having to be placed in the diy yard, at $1.50 a foot per day.. very few contractors are willing to service your boat there.. that goes for detailing as well..
They say they have on-site security,.. what they have are a few liveaboards.. and security cameras that cover the office and fuel tanks.. the rest of them don't function.. don't be surprised when you're missing your new chartplotter or radio..
The bathrooms are disgusting.. again stay up-to-date on your shots..
They used to offer a complete bottom job, however they no longer sand the hull, you have to pay another $2000.00 for an outside blasting company to do it, prior to getting a thin coat, yes only one, of anti fouling for a premium.. when it begins to peal off in 6 months, good luck.. remember "pirate"....
