Safe Harbor Beaufort

Very skilled dick attendants got me in for fuel and slip despite current. Clean facilities but some finger piers are showing their age.

Need to get a lock on the ladies bathroom but overall excellent. :)

Great stay. Very helpful dock hands and walking proximity to delicious restaurants make for a very enjoyable stay.

Great location close to everything. Friendly and very helpful staff. Nice floating docks with security gates locked at night. Good shore power and water. Bath facility is not as nice as would be expected. Showers were COLD with poor flow. WiFi is not good.

Outstanding marina and location. Right in historic Beaufort. Facilities - docks, bathrooms, laundry, ships store and security are great, and the marina staff is responsive, accommodating and friendly. All you could ask for at a marina! Looking forward to returning.

We were only there for a night but it was great to have walking distance to the historical district of the little city. The free dock would be a good option if you don't need power, it is right next door and very nice.

Approaching the Beaufort , SC Safe Harbor can be tricky and requires a fair amount of finesse. The dock landing crew was at the ready at my assigned face dock slip and offered unsolicited valuable guidance as we approached under a strong outgoing current and headwinds all pushing us towards the dock. Due to the advanced notice from the landing crew we were able to slowly and safely slide up to the dock and they secured our lines quickly and efficiently. They were very pleasant, encouraging and helpful and made negotiating the landing a breeze ( no pun intended). The marina is a wonderful locating for exploring and enjoying Beaufort just steps away from the dock. The nagging deficiency that resulted in the 3 star overall rating is 1) They sell both diesel and gas at the fuel dock but there was no two cycle engine oil to be found. I know most outboards are now 4 stroke and do not require fuel to be mixed, some of us enjoy the relative light weight and over all reliability of a good old fashioned 2 stroke. 2) One advantage to docking is using the community bathrooms and showers. Safe Harbor prides itself n providing both at all of it's locations but in the case, the bathrooms were in good shape and well maintained but one of the 3 showers was inoperable and the other stingily supplied a dribble of lukewarm water after waiting 15-20 minutes while standing in the shower. Surely a company that makes a point of crowing about their updated and state of the art facilities can afford to install a hot water heater sized to meet the needs of their facilities. Once again, Safe Harbor turned out to disappoint rather than meet their own advertised expectations. Don't believe the bluff and bluster , this organization needs a severe shake up in order to get things right.

Very nice people and we love Beaufort. The marina has a lot of derelict boats. Some nice yachts as well but a mixed bag.

A wonderful stay. The mooring field is a short row from shore. The town is great- filled with lots of great eateries and little shops to check out. The library is close by and offers great WiFi so you can’t catch up on work/ emails. Go to Q in the Bay and Order their Brisket- yum. Lots of great spots I heard of though so just ask around :) Thank you SH Beaufort!

Dock master and deck hand were super nice.

While Frank, the dockhand, was attentive and excellent, the marina itself looked very tired. Also, there was no hot water for a morning shower. I let the water run for at least five minutes and no heat whatsoever - disappointing.

Safe Harbor Beaufort is a fantastic marina in a perfect location for exploring the town. The staff were incredibly helpful and made the stay enjoyable. While the diesel price was a bit higher than other places, it’s a minor downside compared to all the positives. Definitely worth stopping here!

Excellent Dockmaster . Nice setting . Hot water took ages to come up in the shower . We’re here for the second time a year later . Once again very good dock staff .

Great dock staff and location. Very easy walk to beautiful downtown. Be cautious of very strong currents docking.

All maintained docks, close walk to restaurants, the guys at the pumps and catching your lines were awesome.. extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

Normally I don’t complain……but today I must. I had reservations for yesterday and today for mooring ball at Safe Harbor Beaufort SC. Understand first come basis. Also realize they had suffered storm damage. So upon arrive called by radio. Told we were on out field as prior (been here twice before). But told anything with a red sticker do not go to. We searched and in heavy winds wasn’t easy. I called on radio again to confirm and told the same. I clarified red or orange and told they are the same. After an hour double checking we decided to anchor….in the wind Today I saw boats moving over to the area and grabbing balls. We went into town and asked and they said that it was their mistake all balls but the three obvious are good….they had to call the manager Just saying this was not handled professionally like Safe Harbor and very disappointing. This is not a reflection of Dockwa, but because of the storm, maybe more updates should have occurred

Nice facility, right downtown with access to restaurants and shops… wonderful staff.

Easy docking due to two great dockhands! Good power, water.
