A top shelf experience from beginning to end. Special thanks to the Dock Master, Dennis and his team! They pay attention to every detail. Very professional. The slip was perfect, our boat neighbors were kind and quiet, the electrical hook-up [30 AMP) worked flawlessly, the water pressure was good, the docks are well maintained, the pilings are spaced perfectly. Strong Wi-Fi signal. The tidal swing is about 2.5 to 3 feet; still easy to get on and off the boat. The Marina is steps from the beach, steps from provisioning, (the Pines Pantry), steps from dining, We dined at the Pines Bistro - very good. We took a leisurely walk along the beach to Cherry Grove for lunch one day, (about a mile walk), and then rode the Water Taxi back to the Pines, $10 per person. All in all? A wonderful experience! We will return.

Our first time sailing and staying on boat instead of house share. We brought our sailboat from NYC and no issues with our 5ft draft. Follow markers through inlet and into marina. Dockhands were immediately there to welcome and help us. FIP is very special for many reasons, this marina makes the experience even more special if you’re a sailor. No showers or public bathrooms. However, a pump-out boat comes on the weekends, and showers are not an issue if you have friends with houses on the island since everything is so close. Also, water and electric available in marina. We will definitely come back more frequently!

unfortunately the hotel and pool are privately owned and not affiliated with the marina so we can not offer access. The Town of Brookhaven Pump Out Boat comes in every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning and is a free at your slip service. I love the Fire Island Pines Marina. Our stay was very enjoyable and the harbor master Dennis and the dock hand Adam helped us with everything we needed. Great wireless internet coverage as well. Highly recommended.

The dock hands were great both when we arrived and when we left. They were extremely helpful. We chose the Pines because we had never been and knew what the place was about. We went for my girlfriends birthday weekend and enjoyed the beaches but the people not so accepting of outsiders. Especially the cranky old man Anthony tied up at the dock next to us.

My husband and I stayed in slip 68. The dock hands were very professional and courteous. The marina itself is lovely and the community where it sits is picturesque. However, the man that has his boat in slip 69 was extremely rude. He is an older man who upon leaving his boat for the day, turned on his music very loudly snd didn’t return for hours. Perhaps the people who operate the marina could have done something about this. Otherwise, the marina was exquisite.

Friendly staff, and great location. A bit rocky in this harbor, as it is not very protected from the bay. If you can tolerate sleeping in heavy rocking, then would recommend staying here.

The Marina is right in the middle in a beautiful town and the views from the docks are incredible. The staff was very good and were always available to help with lines etc. The only issue I had as a transient boater, is the lack of marina facilities; bathroom, shower, garbage disposal etc. Other than that, the place was really great!

Another great experience at the Pine, 1st class. As we pulled up, Connor was waiting for us and incredibly eager to help. He knew his stuff and helped quickly tie the boat up...even did a creative pattern with the lines. Thank you Connor - our compliments - you helped make our stay even better.

The pines were great.. great beach... the crowds weren't too bad.. and there were no bugs..
The "hook" was rough the first night though... it was like sleeping in a washing machine. There should also be an official bathroom for marina guests too.

Nice small marina. Very accommodating staff. We came in at low tide - had 4-4.5 ft depth in the channel approaching, and 10 ft at the slip.

Overall I was satisfied with our stay, however I must mention that the marina itself has no amenities to speak of or floating docks. If you're thinking of staying here be sure to check the weather especially the wind direction. If the wind is from the East or North East you might not want to visit. The marina is wide open to the bay facing east. Our first night was like sleeping in a washing machine, in fact the wave action was so severe that both dock cleats were torn out leaving my boat swing badly all night long. The marina crew was quick to correct this situation and in general were very helpful especially when we were leaving.
The area itself is terrific with a couple of good restaurants within a short walk. Water taxis make the Pines a regular stop making it very easy to hope from beach to beach if you wish to see more of the area.
I'm looking forward to coming back so long as the wind is S or SW!

About Fire Island Pines Marina
Fire Island Pines is an upscale, secluded, gay-friendly barrier island community surrounded by a national park. With no cars, access is by boat or ferry. Walk in minutes from your boat to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach.

MARINA RULES
- Slip assignments may be changed at Pines Marina discretion.
- Please notify Pines Marina in advance by telephone or email (shown above (not shown)) if a boat does not intend to use the slip for the coming weekend (April 15th to October 31st)
- Discharges only from correctly working, USCG approved, Type I Marine Sanitation Devices (MSD) are permitted. All other discharge capabilities must be sealed or otherwise rendered inoperable while in the Marina. Boats are subject to inspection at any time.
- The following are prohibited: (a) boat speed over 4 mph, (b) unleashed dogs in the marina, (c) rafting of boats, (d) sleeping on boat decks or on FIPPOA property, (e) subletting, (f) use of boats for commercial purposes (ie: charter, fishing, rental, etc...).
- Excessive noise is prohibited at all times. Inboards must have effective mufflers. Generators, horns and loudspeakers may not be used.
- Open fires and outdoor cooking are prohibited, on or off boats. Permanently affixed LPG or electric grills may be used on boats after they have been inspected and approved.
- Harbor walks must be free of chairs, dinghies, hoses, and other equipment. Hoses are not to be used for showering. No bicycles/motorized vehicles allowed on Harbor walks.
- Houseboats are not permitted in the marina. Dinghies are permitted to enter and exit the harbor; to be used for boat repair and cleaning, and to tie up if space is available. A dinghy may tie up next to its boat if no navigational hazard is created.
- All boats shall use bow and stern lines and tie up stern-in/Bow towards the entrance, if possible.
- Boats not in operating condition must be removed at the discretion of the marina. Slips will not be held for boats out of commission, not used, or for sale.
- Permission for docking can be withdrawn without cause and without advance notice. No refund of all or part of docking fee will be made.
- Modifications to existing boat slip or electric specifications, when approved by the Pines Marina, will be charged to the boat slip renter.
- Slips may not be used to load or unload building supplies or other commercial materials.
- Boat owners and guests are required to observe all regulations of FIPPOA, Brookhaven Township, Suffolk County, New York State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Any granting of mooring, dockage or facilities hereunder is with the understanding, and the applicant agrees, that FIPPOA assumes no responsibility whatsoever for the safety of any vessel docked in the harbor, or moored or anchored in adjoining water, and will not be liable for fire, theft or damage to said vessel, it’s equipment or any property in or on said vessel, however arisen. Nor will it be liable for damages for injuries sustained by any person or persons while aboard, embarking or disembarking any such vessel. The applicant agrees that the mooring, docking, or anchoring of any vessel hereunder shall be at his own risk and further attests that his boat is insured by complete marine coverage.
- Any unauthorized boats in the harbor will be towed at boat owner’s expense.
- Any boat not out of the harbor by October 31, 2023 will be charged the transient rates.
