About Jonesport Shipyard
Jonesport Shipyard is a welcome stopover between Mount Desert Island and Canada, located in a well-protected cove on Moosabec Reach in Jonesport, Maine. We offer two moorings with floating docks in the NW corner of Sawyer Cove to accommodate four transient boats up to 45-feet and 6-feet draft. Locals and cruisers alike turn to the Shipyard for expert service, repair, maintenance and storage.
Our dinghy dock is available to mooring guests. It has a depth of 7-feet at mean high tide and is dry at low. Inside you will find a friendly place to rest with clean showers, laundry, and marine supplies.
Approaching from Moosabec Reach, East or West: From the West end of the steel breakwater, turn into Sawyer Cove and proceed North through the mooring field. Moorings #26 & #28 each have a floating dock attached. The balls are white with a blue stripe, and say Jonesport Shipyard. Side tie into the wind, then take the mooring line from the float deck and pass it through your bow chock as if you were mooring without a float. This will allow for proper swing and reduce chafing.
