The marina is very well protected while also being right off the ICW.

5/15/2021: Got a slip at St. James for the night. Though told it was a 40' slip - the short finger pier made it impossible to get off/on the boat. Unless I could get a side-tie, I would not go into a slip again. The Staff were helpful, polite and courteous. St. James Marina was relatively easy to get into. Depth at the entrance around 7.5 feet. Once into the marina, depth around 16-17 feet. Fortunately, had a side-tie, slips would have been difficult. Nice staff. Marina itself is neat and clean. The bathrooms for women/men are small - just one toilet and shower per bathroom. There is a restaurant - food was ok and prices reasonable. There is also a side shop where you can buy soup/salads/meat/cheese/sodas, etc. St. James is about 12 miles from town. We used Uber but it was 'touch and go' on getting a driver back to the marina after going out for dinner.

This marina provided a delightful experience on our 1 night stay. Katie, the dockmaster, was attentive and very helpful. The marina offers excellent protection, modern and clean facilities. I would highly recommend St. James.

About St James Plantation Marina

St. James Marina is located in St. James Plantation right outside Southport, North Carolina. Located at Mile Market 315, St. James Marina offers easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway as well as the Atlantic Ocean. A full service marina with everything you need right on site. Along with our 155 Wet slips we can also house 320 boats in our dry storage facility, ranging from 15 to 34 feet. Our dry storage facility keeps your boat out of the water and the elements, but can be available at the dock with just a one hour notice.
