We had a great time for an overnight here. The anchorage is right in the heart of Salem, the water is extremely well-protected and although there is a lot of night-time activity surrounding the location, it was quiet by 10. Mike, the dockmaster, was easy to reach and responded promptly. The docks are in *excellent* shape. Approach is not complicated and we had plenty of room to maneuver our 41' boat in and out. The marina is super close to downtown, but there are plenty of eating and drinking options within 100 yds. I did read the comments about the bathrooms and honestly, although they were the part of the facility which needs the most attention (because not much else does), they were perfectly acceptable. The bath/laundry is all behind a common door (with key-code access only). There are 3 seperate toilets and 2 showers, each with a door that locks (either a push-button or a barrel latch). The area was pretty clean. For sure, I've been to marinas where I just preferred to shower on the boat, but this wasn't even close. I was perfectly happy with them.

Dick welcomed us at the dock and was helpful and kind. The second day the dock person was condescending and disrespectful. The location of our slip was at the end of the marina and it wasn’t busy so it was easy to get in and out. Keep to the middle of the channel. Our sailboat was fine getting though during low tide with 4’ 3” draft. The liquor store ran out of ice but you can get it at the gas station. It would be nice of the marina had ice. The bathrooms and showers look gross. The breakfast places don’t open until 8:00. But some cafes are open at 7:00. The icream store closes at 9. Hours may be different on the weekend.

Convenient location minutes from downtown, restaurants and sights like house of seven gables. Bathrooms are of community camping quality, fair. Two Individual toilets with locking door, and two shower stalls with locking door, sliding latch. Overall Quiet, tranquil. Would stay again

Great spot! Mike was very helpful with a faulty dock power connection. New posts are nice looking, but very touchy GFCI’s. Mike helped with a 50’ 50A cord to an original power post. Great weekend!

Great location with plenty of shops and restaurants. The Marina was clean and quiet. The person who ran the place made is super easy for us and made sure we had everything we needed. The Marianas was located where there was very little movement which made it extra comfortable while sleeping on board.

Great protected downtown location, nice floating docks and we enjoyed the Dockmaster but the showers were awful. Dirty and buggy.

Great location. Nice floating docks. Bathroom shower area is filthy.

Great location, steps from town. Dick was very helpful in helping to tie up the boat, linear dock with a side tie up down a long and narrow channel. Not picturesque but a very convenient location close to everything. Would definitely stay here again

Love everything about Pickering - except the bathrooms. They could use some updating. Mike is wonderful.

From the moment that we contacted the Dockmaster, Mike, he was extremely accommodating to find a spot for us 3 days sooner than planned. From that point on, everything was great to include its proximity to great restaurants and nightlife just a few steps away. We look forward to many more visits to Pickering Wharff to visit our new grand daughter.

Well located marina, close to downtown Salem. Mike was extremely helpful. Facilities need some TLC. Best to approach or leave at mid-tide as depths at low water may be challenging for boats with drafts greater than 5 feet.
