Nice place to stay. Marina staff is very helpful and friendly, curtesy car, laundry for $1.50 washer/dryer. An Uber ride into Downtown Savannah. Kroger, Target and Home Depot about 1.5 miles.

Had a great experience at Thunderbolt The marina’s laundry and showers were clean and in good condition. We had a need for a window repair which the dock manager helped coordinate. The service was excellent.

It was a great marine. We needed work completed on our 50 STEELAWAY boat. Would use them again.

Inflation has eliminated complimentary donuts but T-bolt continues to be a great Marina. The expertise and dedication of the staff, yard workers and everyone else is unmatched.

We are so very grateful for your generous compliments. We're happy that your recent return visit did not disappoint professionally, but the complimentary donuts previously delivered to each vessel at the marina, are unfortunately no longer an option available to our customers because the local store closed. As a result, we are no longer able to get them hot out of the fryer. We all miss them!

Our waterway is thankfully, not overly busy at night, apart from a commercial barge now and then - which is great for all those somewhat exposed on the outside docks sitting right on the ICW. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy access. Although it is right on ICW it is a no wake zone. Groceries nearby by loaner car. Short Uber to Savannah historic district. Will come back.

Hospitality and professional service are the best words to describe this marina. Communication during booking and arrival was prompt and courteous. Dockmaster Greg gave clear instructions on approach and tied our lines according to the current. The facility has nice landscaping, and a parkette along the dock to walk the dog or is it to enjoy the view. The marina has a small shop, laundry, and private showers. There are a couple of restaurants nearby with good food at reasonable prices (Tubbys). If you need something else, there is a loaner car available. The morning after our arrival, the dockmaster checked in to see if everything was OK and if we were in need of anything. When we were casting off, he was there again help with the lines. Truly five-star service. Overall, we found Thunderbolt Marina to have a particularly friendly vibe and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

Greg and team are fantastic at supporting transients, and the facilities are great at Thunderbolt Marina. Laundry and showers were clean and in working order. Floating docks are in good shape, and the power/water is reliable at the slips. It's walking distance to a chandlery (River Supply) and restaurants and a short rideshare to downtown Savannah.

They have a great staff and a curtesy car for usage which was great, came in handy!! Walking to Tubby, always a good watering hole!!

About Thunderbolt Marina

Thunderbolt Marina is conveniently located just outside Savannah on the Wilmington River in Thunderbolt, Georgia, at Intracoastal Waterway Marker #35 (ICW Mile #583) N 32° 01.467' W 081° 02.783'. There are no height restrictions when approaching from Wassaw Sound.

We monitor VHF Ch. 16, and Ch. 11 is our working channel. If you need docking assistance, please call us at 912-210-0363 before you arrive. All bookings or reservation inquiries must be made through one of our booking app partners, Dockwa or Snag-a-Slip. You will receive the fastest response from our Dockmaster using one of these reservation apps. Please contact us directly to discuss reservation requests exceeding 5 days. There is a 30-foot-per-day minimum charge for transient dockage. Optional shore power hook-up is not included in the advertised daily rate.

Note that the current in the Wilmington River can be very swift at times. You are advised to make approaches with your bow into the current with fendering and all dock lines, inclusive of aft and fwd running spring lines, ready for the dock attendant on duty. Please comply with all marina staff docking instructions while approaching our facility, as we are very interested in you having an uneventful and stress-free docking experience.

Thunderbolt Marina is just a short distance from Historic Downtown Savannah and provides a tranquil setting with easy access to our repair facilities with haul-out capabilities via Travelift and Syncrolift. Beyond the 3,500 lineal feet of available floating dock space, the marina offers several amenities listed below, assuring a comfortable stay.
