The marina's narrow, unstable metal docks made it difficult to secure the boat, especially due to strong winds. Despite requesting assistance, no one was available to help us. Additionally, we weren't provided with the necessary gate security information. When we realized we needed a code, the marina staff had left for the day. Not having the code is not the end of the world, but it underscored the level of services the marina offers.
Given these challenges, I would advise transient boaters to explore other options.

Perfect location on Hudson. However after many years as member, question:
Does anyone know if Safe Harbor Haverstraw having financial issues? So many boats left disorganized in storage yard over summer23, now gas docks closed due to unexpected repair requirements, no dock improvements really, etc.

Huge marina with nice amenities and restaurant. Madison who is the dock master was very helpful. The only negative is that at night a lot of the dock walkway lights were not working.

Very nice marina facilities. Dock was 'exposed' such that boat rocked and rolled all night and into the morning. We were planning to stay another night, but decided not to due to the rocking.
Had a very nice meal at the restaurant. Enjoyed a swim in the pool. People were very nice.

Safe Harbor Haverstraw was the northernmost layover of the Hudson River leg of our cruise. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. The harbor off of Haverstraw Bay is well-protected and scenic: a mixture of natural landscaping and industrial equipment. Restroom, shower and laundry facilities are very adequate. The finger docks are numerous and tight. I had trouble figuring out where our slip was, but helpful staff on VHF and marina members guided me to the Blue dock and slip 98. Overshot the slip and barely had enough room to turn my 34 foot sailboat around. Floating docks need major refurbishing or replacement. Most of the docks’ walkway metal sheet plates were loose due to missing or broken screws. I spent the first 15 minutes at our slip hosing of considerable gull guano. The Hudson Water Club restaurant was convenient and served excellent value meals. We had a great view of the Haverstraw Bay from our deck table. I plan to return on my next cruise up the Hudson.

Nice facility with good approach depth. Well protected. Dock hands were ready for our arrival. Easy docking. Docks are quite noisy when there is any wave action in the marina.

They tell me that 2 docks are open and I set up my boat for port and there is a boat in that slip. Then I go and turn on the power and the power is shut off. Next is that the key fob does not let me in at the pool. So I have to wait for someone to enter or leave. I got there on Monday night at 5:30 and the office is already closed. They really need to have someone on board late if they want to run a business like this to take care of problems like this. They seem to be very unorganized but they want a lot of money for there services. I fell that the right thing to do is to get a refund.

The minimum boat LOA is 20ft.
Please note: at Safe Harbor Haverstraw there is no long term dockage allowed. Complimentary use of the pool for Safe Harbor Marina Members is included with their stay. Pool daily rate for non-Safe Harbor Marina Members is $30 per boat.
