"Open face dock"
by JakeD, Camden, Me on Feb 15, 2017

I usually stay at a marina to get service and protection. The service from the dock hands is great but the protection is minimal. With winds from any southern angle fine but as night fell the wind came from the west and n/w which brought the gulf into the cut and the boat squealed against the fenders as it rolled and pitched. Not worth the 2.25/ but if things were different the location, facilities and staff would rate higher.

"Crow's Nest"
by Greg Delahanty, Winthrop Harbor on Feb 12, 2017

Venice Inlet is an easy stright forward entrance and in the day light Crow's Nest Marina is easily managed not quite so much at night. There is also a shoal just north of the long dock that you need to favor the docks to avoid. Depth along the piers was 10 to 12 feet and that was the same for most of the channel. Avoid the island and be aware that the IC follows the inshore side of the island and is less than 6 feet deep.

"Our stay at Crow's Nest"
by Dan Mehlman, Gasparilla Marina, Placida, FL on Feb 07, 2017

We were met at our dock by the dockmaster who helped tie us up. The dock was good as was the electricity that we needed. We did eat at The Tavern right there and the service and food was fantastic. We were originally told that we would have an hour wait, but it was only 20 min when we received a call from the hostess that our table was ready. Very nicely decorated inside The Tavern. Our waitress, Jessie, was very sweet and kept checking back with us. Don't know how the bartender can make drinks as fast as je did that evening.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much. The value for our dockage was very fair. We would stay there again and would recommend The Crow's Nest to everyone.

"Only In Good Weather"
by Curt Corda, San Diego on Jan 23, 2017

The marina staff were helpful with docking and questions we had. The bathrooms and laundry facilities are all clean and functioning. Crow's Nest Restaurant on site is excellent. Marina is somewhat isolated. They have bikes to borrow, but everything is at least 2 miles away. If a weather system comes in do not be at this marina. Very exposed.

"A great spot"
by Jerry Fray, Nashville TN on Jan 17, 2017

The dock was very accessible and the staff were super helpful and friendly. Everything was close enough to cycle to. The restaurant was great (we do recommend reservations though). We were favorably impressed with this Marina.

"Favorite stop over"
by David Draper, Redington Shores, FL on Dec 12, 2016

Tavern has great food and atmosphere. Entertainer was ok and fun. The marina is one long double sided lay-along. It is directly exposed to the channel so tie up on the south side so that typical North wind is blowing you away from the dock, rather than bumping the piles. Will be back ...

"Fun stop for the night"
by NativeTX, Port Aransas, TX on Nov 04, 2016

Easy tie up at the face dock; used fender boards. Staff was very helpful with tie up and took care of mailing a package for us. 50a power and wifi worked fine; very little water pressure at our spigot so we didn't use the dock water (not all slips had this issue). Lots of loaner bikes, very nice lounge, decent food in bar. Met several other boaters on transient dock who were very friendly. Not much area to walk dog as nearby beach is not dog friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer as Venice looks like a nice town to explore.

"Excellent service"
by Mike Tamayo, New Port Richey, Fl on Oct 21, 2016

Excellent service, they great us at dock and helped us get tied up. Gave advice on local amenities. They gave advice on the tide and current to dock up. All and all full service.

"Great Marina to stay "
by Tim Goodman, South Pasadena on Jul 27, 2016

Friendly staff, great restaurant/tavern. Courtesy bikes to ride into town for supplies, groceries. Also beautiful beach within easy walking distance for swimming, snorkeling and fishing. Laundry room, showers and bathrooms available 24 hours. Will definitely be returning

"Very friendly and helpful "
by Kurtclem, new orleans,la. on Dec 05, 2015

Stayed here 1 nite after jump from Dry Tortugas heading to Pensacola, staff very friendly and was ready to assist with lines when we docked! Even gave us extra time to re-provision out before leaving! Free bikes to use, very nice and clean showers and boaters lounge, washer and dryer available also in lounge!

"Best place to stop"
by InertBert, New Port Richey on Aug 13, 2015

Pros: Easy to get to from the gulf, doesn't take a lot of time to refuel. Dockmaster was very helpful.

Cons: Could use more selection in the store.

"memorial weekend"
by Knot Rite, Johns Pass on May 26, 2015

stopped in here on way to cayo costa on 4-22-15. was a little pricey considering the lack of ammenities, no pool. Help docking was invaluable with the current and wind. Water clarity was amazing, and ended staying here for couple of days instead of going further south. Will stay here again for the sights, but marina was unimpressive. 2 mile bike ride into town was nice on courtesy bike

"Spend a few days"
by Cambren Davis, Hernando Beach, FL on May 25, 2015

We stopped here May 2015. Had to get towed in to replace a mixing elbow. Staff were exceptionally helpful. After we replaced the part, we were moved from the fuel dock to transient slip. Docking is a bit tricky with the wind and tides to consider, but could be worse. Courtesy bicycles were great, nice riding to town. Beach very close. We decided to stay an extra day. Highly recommend.

"Crow's Nest Marina"
by Rob and Wendi W, Madeira Beach on Apr 29, 2015

We stayed here on March 31, 2014 enroute to Key West and back on April 15, 2015. Current at prime can be a little tough, if docking at a transient slip in front of the parking lot; a large catamaran had a tough time. Best to move in quickly and then reverse with some power to stop so the current doesn't influence as much on drift going into the slip. Staying at transient slip just next to the parking lot was a little noisy with cars and restaurant patrons, in the early morning the garbage truck woke us up. The amenities were nice with multiple private bath/shower rooms. Second time, we berthed inside the long pier on the west side, much quieter. The dockmaster was there to help if needed for tie up. Not too much rocking from traffic, a little tight squeeze turning around in the basin with our '36 Hunter. We ate in the Tavern restaurant below the main one. Little less expensive than the upstairs, but really good food (chowder was excellent). We would stay again.

"Fair place for an overnight"
by pgodel, Coconut Grove, USA on Apr 01, 2015

Stayed here overnight on our way south. The docks are pretty bad, but the worst part was the lack of depth. Our 4'6" boat touched bottom during the low tide. Getting into the dock was not easy due to the cross current. The marina staff left at 5pm and the restaurant was pretty busy to help us.

Restrooms and showers were somewhat clean.

Marina Response:
We strive to please all of our guest and we are sorry we did not please you. I'm not sure you stayed with us for several reasons. 1st we close at 6 pm ( latest in our area) and accommodate late arrivals through our restaurant managers. We are complimented on the cleanliness of our restrooms and showers as evidenced by numerous positive reviews. Our docks are in excellent shape and well maintained - not sure what 'pretty bad' means?? We are located on the Venice inlet and our dockside depth on the face dock and fuel dock is 12' average ( by far the deepest water and easiest navigable inlet between Tampa Bay and Fort Myers. There are some slips perpendicular to our seawall that may be 4' deep at a low winter tide but we avoid assigning those slips to boats that draw that much water. I would agree that the tidal current can be strong at certain times due to our closeness to the Inlet. Again I apologize but as 38 year owner of the Crow's Nest and proud of our operation and staff, I have no problem contesting reviews such as this.

"okay, nothing special"
by Bob Frederick, Louisville, KY on Mar 18, 2015

Face dock was ok, but as stated by others, exposed to waves from the inlet. Dock guy said that you need to get a cable box in order for cable to work. System has not been upgraded for digital. FWIW Not much around, nearest convenience store is a mile away. OK for one night but I wouldn't want to stay longer

Marina Response:
Since Comcast went to digital boxes - we and many other marinas cant just have our guests hook up a cable to the dock pillar as in the past. Guests must have a digintal TV and we gladly supply a free digital box to hook up. then the guest has to 'program' their TV to get the channels. Frustrating - we agree but guests are informed and we do supply cable. We have been advised we can install a Satelitte system at a cost of about $10,000 - feasible for 200 slip marinas but not 24 slip. We also supply free courtesy bicycles for the short 1.5 mile ride to beautiful Venice.

"Great food great staff"
by Cpt Tuck, Marina Jack, Sarasota on Mar 07, 2015

easy docking radio ahead and they will meet you at the dock the currents can be strong

great food at resonable prices

upstairs dinning by the windows is the best

"rock and roll"
by L Mark DeCicco, Buzzards Bay on Feb 01, 2015

It was nice to see the clean clear water in the marina after the ICW and OCW! Current was not an issue for the inside slip But the rolling was pretty bad. Not much close by walked to the parking lot at the inlet, I have Never seen so many signs that said no! No pets, no smoking, no this and no that, it was a totem pole of NO. The funny thing it was a dusty parking lot over looking a stone breakwater and jetty. The marina bathrooms were a long walk I did not use. No cable TV, but it is still advertised? I think the marina is over priced for what it is. The dock attendants are Great!

"Nice Place"
by Michael and Robin Mangione, Fayetteville, Arkansas on Oct 24, 2014

I would echo the reports about the cable not working, it doesn't, and nothing done to fix it. That said, this is a nice place with decent access and free bikes to downtown Venice. There is a great coffee/wine shop, and Publix is only a few miles aways.
The restaurant here is nice, there is a happy hour, and the drinks are done well. We sampled a few items off the raw bar and were not dissapointed.
The current can be managed, we arrived a slack tide and the current wasn't an isssue.

"I don't get it??"
by Sterling, Key Largo on Aug 31, 2014

Overpriced, fixed docks, Cable did not work, when reported, nothing done about it, LONG walk to head and showers, lots of current, and rocky rolly. Not worth it.

"bathrooms were a great plus"
by Mark Mills, Mobile Al on Aug 25, 2014

Spent one night here to do laundry and get a hot shower . very clean and nice. Love the private bathrooms and showers Courtesy bikes a plus.

"OK Stop........"
by Frank Nold, Vero Beach, FL on Aug 20, 2014

Plenty of help to help secure the boat when we arrived. Close walk to the jety for the sunset. Check out the information board just before entering the jety walk.....and welcome to Vinice. Inlet is very rough, very rude local boaters so no respect to a no wake at the marina. Rock and Roll well past dark. Restuarant OVER PRICED!

"Pretty at Daybreak!"
by Randy Smith, Orange Beach, AL on Aug 11, 2014

We were experiencing GPS and A/P issues, so came in for repairs. Thank goodness we were able to troubleshoot the problem before getting to the would have been nearly impossible after dark. And with strong westerly winds and the current, I had to quickly brush up on my boat handling skills! But rested easy that night at the fuel dock, and was underway the next morning. Friendly staff. Great "quick" stop off the Gulf.

"Rock and Roll"
by Sea Al, Stuart, Fl on Jul 31, 2014

This is a nice place with helpful dock staff, but it is right on the inlet and i would not consider it to be protected. The night we were there was not very windy, but we rocked all night long, as did all the other boats including a 70' Hatteras. Also, ic can be very tricky docking with the currents! We loved the courtesy bikes and the restaurant is very good!

"Easy access from the Gulf of Mexico"
by Helmsman, St Pete Beach, Florida on Jul 17, 2014

We stayed here in November 2013. Close to an easily navigated inlet. Short walk to the beach for a swim. Showers are very nice as in the laundry. We borrowed the marina's bicycles and rode into Venice for restaurants and shopping. You can also bicycle to a nice public beach with a concession stand.

The Crow's Nest restaurant staff fit us in even though we did not make reservations.

"Great Marina"
by Tom M., St. Petersburg on May 19, 2014

You can't beat a marina that is well protected but at the same time allows access to and from the Gulf in a matter of minutes. Marina has bikes yiou can use and it is about a 15 min bike ride to Publix.

"Great Place to stay & eat."
by SV GYPSEA, Apollo Beach on Apr 21, 2014

Stayed before and twice on this last trip. Great view. Nice Staff. Good Food. Bikes are in good shape to ride into town.

"Great stop%u2026A must for cruisers"
by SV GatoGo, Apollo Beach - Tampa, FL on Apr 19, 2014

Really enjoyed the Crow%u2019s Nest Marina. Spent three nights, 4/12 and 4/16-17 during a weeklong sailing trip down the west coast of Florida. Nice staff, great facilities, very clean bathrooms and showers. The Crow%u2019s Nest Restaurant is very good and reasonable. Free bikes to the very nice downtown Venice is a great extra. Short bike ride to shops and good places for eats. One issue is the current from the cut makes getting in a slip can quite difficult at times; plan and schedule your visit.

"Great place to visit when in Venice"
by m4drudy, mound on Apr 17, 2014

Being a Minnesotan always fun to come the the Crow's Nest for diner and to watch the boats come in.

"Great stoppover"
by sv Dana - Robby, Bochum on Apr 13, 2014

The current in the river sometimes makes docking a little complicated, especially if the transient dock is busy, but the staff are helpful and will assist. Free courtesy bycicles are available, the beach is round the corner and a grocery store down the road. The Crow's Nest Restaurant is a must!

"Great time"
by Bridges, Grand Rivers, KY on Mar 21, 2014

As there is no place else to speak of in Venice this is a pretty nice place. Staff is efficient and proactive. Bathrooms are clean and private. Docks are okay. Call for a reservation and think ahead.

"Happy follow up"
by selb466, Nashville on Mar 11, 2014

Stopped w/o a reservation after tiring of the fog offshore en route to Sarasota and entering pass. Helpful and welcoming dockhands, clean facilities, bikes to borrow. Best to have made early resaurant reservations during winter season -- popular with good food and large crowds. Entrance via pass can be dicey in large light boat when winds and currents are running high. Reliably good dockage overall!

by Joe Apicella, East Falmouth, MA on Mar 08, 2014

I fully agree with the last review, except I made the mistake of staying 4 days. This marina has no amenities. For the price they charge I expect something . When we arrived we had reservations for 4 nights. We were put on an outside slip. When I told the person who helped me dock we were there for 4 nights he made a call to someone, and then we had to move to an inside slip. I connected the cable and it didn't work. I asked the boat next to me if his worked and he said no. Here's the bad part. When I asked in the office if they fixed the cable I was told "we don't know what's wrong with it" and was shrugged off. Now for the really bad part, I asked Brad, the marina mgr about the cable ande he said "the cable is perfect, it's your boat." What I expected was, I'm sorry, I will check it out. Instead he wanted to argue with me. Told me I was wrong! This am I asked 2 other boats if their cable worked, and they said NO! I felt like I was an interruption to their business rather than the reason for it. It seems like the marina is a side business to the restaurant. We had guests on board and were told they couldn't park at the marina as the lot was reserved for restaurant patrons and it might be towed. Another issue I have is an "overwater tax ($20.64)." I have never heard of it and it may be legit, but I have never had to pay it before unless it was included in the slip fee. Unfortunately, this place is the only show in town. Next time I will avoid Venice entirely and spend my money elsewhere.

by Bob Godfrey, Satellite Beach, Fl. on Mar 07, 2014

We found this facility to be expensive and disappointing since the cable TV did not work for us and 2 other vessels that were there, the WIFI was sporadic and frustrating to use (if at all). Staff was helpful and loaner bikes were a nice touch. The note that marina guests would receive preference at the restaurant did not help us when we attempted to dine there....2 hour wait was what we were told to expect. For the price we expect all amenities to work as advertised. Be aware that the face dock is prone to many wakes as vessels transit the "No Wake" inlet.

"The Perfect Stop for Offshore"
by Karen Siegel, Castine, Maine on Mar 01, 2014

It would not be possible to find a better place to setup for going offshore. To say you are at the inlet would be the world's biggest understatement. Forget about depending on NOAA we just looked out the bow to see the conditions!

Add to that a terrific restaurant - we had a great meal at a reasonable price - and the beach next door and this stop is a winner. If you are there multiple days waiting for weather they have loaner bikes to take you into town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a stop we would do again.

"Great Place"
by Dan Ricco, Clearwater on Feb 17, 2014

The dock People are very nice to work with, the restaurant is outstanding. stay at a lot of docks but this is the best palce we have stayed at. Free bicycles to explore Venice,

"Too expensive"
by Bilgeplug, Gulfport Florida on Dec 29, 2013

We were passing through and were looking for a tie up from sundown to sunup. The rate for side tying to the exposed long dock was $2.25 a foot.

Didn't need any services, just someplace to sleep for the night as there is not much else available near here. I won't pay $90 just to tie to a dock for 10 hours.

We headed south and dropped the hook for free in Lemon Bay.

We have stayed here before, and it's a nice place, but it's a been there done that kind of spot. Nothing really to do here.

"Free Bicycles"
by Capt Dana, Sarasota on Oct 23, 2013

Wow great dockhands. Free bicycles to explore Venice, and a wonderful restaraunt. Careful of the current you are right at the inlet.

"Good location"
by Gus33, Boyd, Texas on Aug 24, 2013

Great restaurant , docks are fair. Not much within walking distance, but it is a scenic location.

"Nice stop over"
by Becky Griffin, Indian Rocks Beach on Jul 10, 2013

Helpful staff to handle lines with strong current and some winds. Sometimes it can be tricky. Restaurant has good food and a daily happy hour. Short walk or cab to downtown or use their complimentary bikes. Small store has on the basics - ice, sodas and such. This was our second visit. Nothing fancy and usually pretty quiet. Beautiful views though.

"Free bikes! Plenty of pelican droppings!"
by Chill Zone, Oriental on May 20, 2013

Very nice folks here at the marina make this a pleasant stay. They offer the use of free bicycles, and the onsite bar is nice too. However, we had to wash all of our lines after leaving, since pelican poop is all over the poles used to dock up here. Pelicans are on every piling here, and it's hard to avoid the smell from migrating to your boat somehow.

"Our favorite marina"
by James Williams, San Francisco CA on May 09, 2013

We have spent five nights here on four different occasions. The first two nights we waited out some weather, met some other cruisers with whom we built a good friendship, rode the marina's free bikes down to downtown Venice, and had a wonderful dinner at the Crow's Nest Restaurant, truly a first-rate dining experience.

Our subsequent visits resulted in fine dining again. But we discovered what other sailors had told us that the currents and wind can make docking and leaving the dock truly difficult.

"Great restaurants/poor marina"
by Bob Singer, Punta Gorda, Fl on May 04, 2013

Old docks in an area with fast current. Long walk to nice downtown. Loaner bikes in disrepair. Heavy boat traffic , esp. on weekends. Close to Venice Inlet/beach. Great restaurant on site

"It's Just Okay..."
by John Curtice Skipper, Sarasota on May 02, 2013

The staff are great. We arrived (4/25/13) when many of the west docks were out of service for rennovations. We waited at the fuel dock till the Restaurant lunch crowd left. Stern to, our deck faced the parking lot and trash containers. Not appealing. We ate on board so the restaurant was not a benefit. If there were another marina between Venice and our destination, I think we would have skipped this one.

"Good marina and restaurant"
by Gary Duncan, Anna Maria, FL on Apr 03, 2013

You can always expect and get good help from staff of marina. They monitor 16 and will assist with arrival and departure. Although marina is right on the Venice Inlet there has not been a lot of boat movement at night. We got BoatUS discount, free bike rentals and closeness to beach. Restaurant and bar are excellent.

"Nice Marina at Inlet"
by John Pholeric, Lewis Creek, Md on Feb 27, 2013

Overall, this is a good and convenient marina right at Venice Inlet. Bikes are available and it is a short walk to the beach. Try to get berthing as far from the inlet as possible because of wakes. Small boats slow down about 50 meters from the end of the dock.

"crows nest venice fl"
by tim cober, solomons md on Jan 24, 2013

good marina very helpfull staff. Had a engine problem that could have been serious. The marina recomnded Neil Cameron Marine Services ( 941-492-7538). Neil called the next morning and was on the boat within 20 minutes, solved the problem, picked up a part and oil and gave the engine a clean bill of health.
good Publix but horrible taxi service. Had to wait 1 hour for a cab. great service at a reasonable price.

"Great food and good docks"
by Ber, Houma, LA on Dec 31, 2012

12/30/2012-We stopped again for our 38th wedding anniversary, and had a great meal. The wine list is fantastic. Our previous review stands.

We have been twice in the last few months. The on site restaurant is fantastic. The marina staff is very helpful, and the wooden docks are in good shape. While it may not be a great permanent place to moor, it is certainly fine for a few nights and a good meal.

"One of our favorite stops"
by Jim Rankin, Reedville, VA on Dec 24, 2012

Update- stopped on our way back from Texas. Great staff. We love the restaurant. I have been comming here since the mid 70s.

Stopped on our way to the Florida panhandle. Easy in and out. Great staff and restaurant.

"Great Stop!"
by Summer Slopes Too, Mattituck, NY. on Nov 04, 2012

Nothing fancy, easy docking, a little rolly from boats going in and out of inlet. Right on the beach, free bikes, great restaurant.

"Great stop"
by Bob LaSalle, St. Petersburg, FL on Jul 27, 2012

Easy in/out; nothing fancy but real nice place to stop; Crow's Nest Restaurant is great; free bikes if you want to pedal into town;

"Not terrible"
by creedence623, Twin Dolphin Marina on Apr 13, 2012

Fine facilities and friendly staff, BUT you are very exposed to wake from the SIGNIFICANT amount of traffic that passes in and out of the inlet. It seems the bar lets out at 1 or 2 am as well because we were woken up by the drunken crowd as they were stumbling home. Currents rip through as well making docking a challenge (we were hit by a Catalina 440 that was losing a battle with the current).

"Great stop"
by Ron Matuska, Dunedin, FL on Apr 02, 2012

Crow's Nest is a great stop. We were on the wooden face docks. Solid with effective bumpers on the poles, didn't use fenders the two nights we stayed. Even though right on the pass to the Gulf had very peaceful nights, even with daytime traffic it wasn't too bad. Clean showers, good cable tv reception, wifi signal weak so we used Verizon MiFi. About a mile into town, little further to Publix, free loaner bikes. Spent an afternoon with the locals on island just off the Marina, very popular weekend place. If you want to eat at Crow's Nest, suggest you call early and have cocktails on your boat.

"Great Location"
by Curtis Beard, Punta Gorda, FL. on Feb 29, 2012

"Top Notch stop"
by budelkin, palmetto on Sep 14, 2011

The Nest is something to behold. Their signature burgers are out of this world. The dock, fuel, water, etc. service is top rate. The prices are palatable, and all the food is fantastic. The showers are cleaner than a five star hotel!

"Crows Nest Marina & Restaurant"
by LiLa Blue, Pensacola on Jul 19, 2011

Docking can be tricky depending on current, particularly if you are going into one of the slips (vs the bulkhead). Courtesy bikes are convenient for access to town or the city beaches. Cable is available but we had very limited channel selection, with some key channels missing (e.g. weather channel, TNT etc). Dinner at the restaurant was good and a nice treat.

"Nice & helpful staff"
by Chas and Bev, New Orleans, LA on Jun 02, 2011

Free bicycles for guest and a 100 yard walk to the beach. Tides and winds can be tricky but you have a lot of help. Very clean, private and spacious restrooms. Say hello to Bob the bartender. If you have in inside berth, approach from the east, not from the Gulf. We love it here.

"Crows nest Marina"
by nimo, Hudson on May 18, 2011

It is always a challenge to get in here. We stay here whenever we are on the water because of the location, the friendly staff and the excellant facilities. Mind your wind and tide when coming and going and you should have no problems.

"Very nice surprise"
by Howell Cooper, Port Aransas, Texas on Apr 25, 2010

"Better off to skip"
by Jack Griffin, Lake Norman on Dec 04, 2009

We were very disappointed in this marina due to strong current most of the day and all night. We really rocked a lot! Note to self - don't stop at a marina when there are no other boats tied to the dock. Probably a reason. The only good thing is a lot of rubber on the poles but for a reason.

"Good stop!!"
by Acadia1, Saint Petersburg on Sep 13, 2009

Very Friendly people! We liked the free bikes to go for a little ride around town (not the greatest bikes but worked just fine). Only negative was the early morning boat trafic leaving the inlet. They dindn't create a big wake but just enough to be a little bothersome in the morning, but not enough to stop us from coming here again. We did bike by the free dock at higel park and would probably consider staying there in the cooler months (no power). Overall great stay

"Good marina with great restaurant"
by Cruising Family of Four, Knoxville, TN on Jun 29, 2009

The marina has an outstanding pub-type bar and upscale restaurant on the premises. The staff is very courteous and helpful. It is extremely close to the Gulf inlet for easy access in & out, but currents can be very strong, so make sure your boat is securely tied. Get on the inside of the transient dock if possible, because passing boats do not always reduce their wake. Stay close to the marina side when entering the inlet, otherwise, you can ground your boat (watch markers carefully). Courtesy bicycles are available to ride into town, but not much in the way of other restaurants & shopping. We did not find and other restaurants or shopping in walking distance (Publix is 2.5 miles away). The beach and jetty are a short walk from the marina. The trash cans and grass to walk your dog is very close to the dock, along with picnic tables.

"Very easy access from Gulf and ICW"
by Jan B, Captiva on May 31, 2009

When you come into the Venice Inlet from the Gulf, you are right at the marina at the end of the jetty. It is also right off the ICW. It couldn't be easier. to find. We were there a Saturday evening and while there is a lot of traffic, most boaters observe the no wake zone. Check out the Crow's Nest website and you will even be able to see the restaurant menu. It's cheaper to eat in the downstairs tavern, but the food in the dining room on the second floor is excellent.

"Fun stop!"
by Skip - Get Reel, Venice, FL on May 06, 2009

This facility is easily approached from the Gulf. However, all the slips are exposed to wakes from heavy traffic going to and from the Gulf. In our stay, we were told that with a 6-ft draft we were in the deepest slip available. When we got ready to leave two days later, the keel was on the bottom with the tide still falling. We were able to winch and motor off. Venice is a beautiful little town. Be sure to rent a bike and take a tour, and go hunting for prehistoric shark teeth on the beach. Very nice bath facilities, and a very fine restaurant.
