Very good, very big marina! Everything one could want as a transient. Great clean and modern facilities, fantastic ships store, exceedingly friendly and accomodating staff, it was a really nice place to stay for a couple of days. It's also really convieint for the festival grounds!
The marina here has it all, top notch facilities, pool, hot tub, grills, wonderful restaurant in site, and best of all Pat & Carrie will go out of their way to make this one of the most enjoyable stops we had. Had planned to be here for just a night, ended up leaving the boat here for trip home because it was very secure and protected place to leave it. Town was a short walk and had some unique shops and excellent restaurants. Would love to make this a home base for the boating season!!!
This is a top flight marina. 1000 floating slips with all the amenities you can ask for. Staff was cordial and sought to please at every level. Prices very reasonable. Town was 1/4 mile away with many cute shops and nice restaurants. A must stop if you are traveling on the Lake's west coast.
Reefpoint marina is not only beautiful, the staff and people that we met on the docks are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!
Great accommodations. We always like to go to Racine. Helpful staff in getting tied up situated.
First time for us to Racine. Marina said they'd be there to catch our lines and show us our dock but they weren't. A fellow boater showed us where our slip was. He immediately said "don't expect much help here". We were just here for one night and were at the pump out dock at 8 a.m. The staff person arrived at 8:20. Not very professional. I rode my bike all over downtown looking for some kind of a market and found none. I did find a nice library. A nice person, Louie Swed, who lives on his powerboat said he'd pick up some basic groceries for me at Walmart that evening which he did and he wouldn't take any money. Super nice guy.
7/27/16 This was our favorite place to stay on lake MI. but this time we were let down, there was a daycare for special needs children using the pool. They were using it like a rest room and the staff was removing it with a pool skimmer and acting like it was ok, This pool should be shut down untill the staff is trained on cleanliness. The showers were not cleanded in the 3 days we were there. This was a big let down we have loved this place for years but I think we will pass it by on our next time in the area.
Stayed four days, nice very clean restrooms. Pool, grills & and tub all well maintained. Docks clean and maintained. Nice friendly staff a welcome relief from when Skipper Bud's had unpleasant office staff a few years back. Many resturants in walking distance. AGLCA discount for docking :)
Close to downtown Racine, easy to navigate, great amenities including a pool and two hot tubs, friendly staff and very reasonable fees! A great place to spend during Wisconsin summers!
This was our final stop in a 750 mile voyage. Docking staff was willing to wait for us if necessary, but we made it in on time. Excellent facilities. This is a BIG marina, so choose your location wisely.
Nice bar overlooking the marina. Nice pool. decent staff. Good entertainment. Not the cheapest but nice
The Admiral, daughter and I launched at Pershing Park Boat Launch just around the bend from Reefpoint Marina. We set up camp in transient slip E-1 on Friday afternoon 5/1/15. Very nice accommodations with a new manager beginning last year. Carrie VanDera (Reefpoint General Manager) has done an excellent job bringing it back from a long slide by Skipper Buds. It was the "first Friday of the Month" and main street was hopping. The Yardarm Bar and Grill has won the best Friday fish fry for 6 years running. Saturday morning was breakfast at the Chancery (http://www.thechancery.com/) Saturday evening in Racine we found the Brew Pub in the marina to have excellent food including the Jambalaya and meatloaf wrapped w/bacon. It's still a little early for those fair weather boaters, but we loved it. Great marina and a must stop for those cruising lower Lake MI. We've been to numerous marina's and this is a keeper. Centerpoint in Sturgeon Bay, WI might have an edge, but it's over $2.00 per foot too.
One of the best ports in Wisconsin! Excellent facilities and top notch management. They have done a fantastic job bringing this marina up to boaters high expectations. The city of Racine is a 5 minute walk away with some great restaurants; Vero which is international and Olde Madrid for tapas. Mexican, Thai, and Italian cuisine along with many great pubs are also available. Don't miss The Red Onion for breakfast or lunch Monday-Saturday. Sunday brunch at Out of the Pan is "out" standing (pun intended). North Beach, the Racine Zoo, Shoop Park Golf Course and the Wind Point Lighthouse are definitely worth seeing. And if you are into architecture, Racine is known for it's incredible Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. Stay awhile there is a lot to enjoy!
Excellent Marina! Very boater friendley port with excellent accomodations & DEEP water slips. Very well protected harbor & marina has ALL of the desired facilities with fuels, very nice restaurant on site & very well maintained grounds (plus pool & hot-tub). Marina staff is Excellent & Marina is within (~ 4 blocks) walking distance of Racine "Main Street" with many quaint shops & multiple restaurants. Marina is very well cared for & good security. A deffinite place to stay for a few weeks if transiting through or long term.
We've been coming here for years - the town is nearby, lots of restaurants and shops. The marina is clean, friendly, and active; the management and staff here are top-notch...they even have a ships store with the things you really need! Well worth a stop as you're cruising around the lake.
There are so many things that Bob and I love about this marina we don't know where to start. From the beautiful and well maintained marina itself, including a great pool and 2 nice sized hot tubs, to the impeccable bathrooms and showers, AMAGING accommodating staff and nice store (with ice cream), we couldn't be happier. We are new to the marina as of 2013 and still are still discovering new assets about Racine. This past summer we travled across to Harbor Springs, Beaver Island, Traverse City and 6 other ports in 12 days. In our short time as large boat owners, we have also stayed at marina's in Grand Haven and Holland, MI, Chicago, Sheybogan, Milwaukee and most marina's in Door County. The closest marina that we found comparable to ReefPioint Marina is in Traverse City although our beaches are cleaner, and Traverse City does not have a pool or hot tubs and when walking the shoreline on the beach, sticks were going through my feel. Also you can hear 40 mile and hr traffice along the beach and marina. It is a very nice marina although all in all we feel taht Reefpont wins out. ReffPoint Marina is quiet except for the sounds we enjoy hearing like nice music from the amazing Brewhouse restaurant on the point that has amazing views. The North beach iis prestine well maintained. It has an award winning beach with volleyball tournaments and entertainment at the pravillion. The down of Racine is adorable and has many restaruants and stores to choose from. We have everything we need right at our fingerttips. We love this marina and town so much that we are planning on moving within the next 6 months to Lake Shore Towers right there by the marina. We plan on living here forever. There is even a zoo neat by for kids to visit. I hope I covered everything although I am sure I missed something.
Reefpoint is the right marina. we spend our weekends here and enjoy the proximity to downtown Racine, the park around the marina, the neighbors and the very relaxed, down to earth attitudes. if you like to ride a bike, there is an easy ride to the Wind Point lighthouse. along the way, stop at the Racine zoo. downtown Racine there are some nice restaurants. salutes, Casablanca, the Brewhouse and a couple others. at the Reefpoint convenience store, you can also get fresh O-H Kringle. we have great boat neighbors and a fun time. there are more amenities than we use. the pool and hot tub are a nice, and rare, feature. the marina is easy to navigate and the east slips the quietists. we enjoy day cruises to Milwaukee, Kenosha or Winthrop Harbor for lunch and drinks. we have the voice of New Buffalo, Chicago or Kenosha but Reefpoint is the right place.
We visited 3 nights 9-14. 9-15 & 9-16-2014. We had a beautiful 70 ft -T- Head E2. Buy 2 get 1 Free. Coming from the North the Breakwater extends out past the Red Light House. Everything about this Marina from the Fish clean station, Restaurant, Lounge, Rest Rooms is Immaculate and in First Class Condition. We toured two days with AGLCA Harbor Host Bob & Carol Kunath who is also Editor for the Great Lakes Section of The Waterway Guide. We would love to stay longer. This is a Do Not Miss Stop on the Western Shore of Lake Michigan. Racine, WI is a very nice town coupled to a Fantastic Marina that is VERY Weather Secure. Thank You Bob & Carol for a great introduction to Racine, WI and visit at Reef Point Marina. Capt Helen & Chief Engr Bob Onboard ALLEZ! MT50. AGLCA, MTOA, USPS, USCG-ARC, Active Captain
The number of slips in this marina was intimidating. We were given good directions to the slip but still got lost inside the marina walls. Staff and dock members were there to help into the slip. Nice wide finger docks. Locals were helpful and offered rides to the stores. Downtown was close and within an easy walk. On Saturday 9/6/14 music started in a closer park around noon and went until about 10:00 PM. There was also a boaters swap meet on Saturday morning and I was able to pick up a couple of needed items for a great price. The marina is pet friendly, however with the physical size of the marina it can be quite a walk before there is any grass to accomodate pet needs. Enjoyed the stay.
Great marina with friendly local boaters. Close to town. Pool & hot tubs on site. Great restaurant on site. Wifi's not great
This is our first marina on the great lakes and so far we really enjoy it. The showers and bathrooms are nice and the staff is very friendly.
The new restaurant is busy, reasonably priced, and the food was good. My slip is easily accessible, neighbors are quick to offer help with lines. Water depth is good and fuel dock is now manned during work hours. I would recommend.
Nice marina. Good ships store and within walking distanc to ton. West Marine is close to marina, as well as a number of good restaurants. marina has a nice pool, and floating docks. Can be a little confusing when finding your slip.
The change of management has not resulted in a better run facility. Essentially the same facility with less service - gone is dockside checkin' a sparse boat store (acrually reminded me of a small gas station %u201DC%u201D store). Yes' the rates are slightly less than last year' but not enough to justify less service. We will return' but with different expectations.
A well laid out marina with friendly staff but needs more maintenance and cleaning. Washroom facilities are clean, but need to be cleaned more often, especially on weekends. Floating dock and locals on docks were both nice and helpful in sharing local knowledge. A half mile walk to town, but save the trip as there isn't much going on in the downtown area except for a local West Marine store (on Main Street). The on-site restaurant/bar service very good, but plagued with houseflys during our visit. This was compounded by leaving the door open between inside and outside bars for the waitstaff. The flies took advantage of this too. Hate to fight flies for my bacon cheeseburger; I want it all !
This is a follow up to my earlier review. Skipper Bud's is out and now it's run by Edgewater Resources and the county of Racine. Little has changed, but in fairness, it is a fairly new partnership. Still fighting flies in the on-site restaurant and the town still has vast sections of vacant buildings, leaving one with that depressed feeling. While the men's bathhouse was OK, the wife reported that the women's went more than 24 hours without a cleaning; not a good thing when you pay a premium price for a transient slip. We're not clean freaks, but they could get the hairs out of the sinks and pick up the loose toilet paper off the floor. Perhaps the cleaning staff needs closer supervision. The on-site boaters store is only open weekends, and they seem to stock more cigars than foodstuffs. Check in was a little strange. We were directed to our slip, and then told to go to the gas dock to complete the paperwork. That would have been OK, but for the fact that the gas dock was behind a locked gate. In true marina fashion, I had to wait until someone was leaving and then sneak in before the gate slammed shut. An office check in would have been nice. The Boaters Lounge looked to be remodeled, but only offered a flat screen TV and air conditioning, both of which we have on our boat. In-slip WiFi was very slow and spotty. Get to work Edgewater, and turn this place into something nicer.
The Marina was in excellent condition. The transient area was quiet and uncrowded. Dock help was limited, but the one individual was extremely helpful and energetic. The food at the Spinnaker restaurant was excellent and the wait staff was friendly. The only draw back was the cost.
My family has had between 1 and 4 boats at Reefpoint since 1989. I remember when there was a waiting list and a large dinner cruise boat operating from within the marina. That was the hayday. A lot has happened since then. Recession, new near by marinas, aging docks, and at times, a lack of upkeep. But fankly you that could be said about most marinas over the course of more than 20 years. The defacto fall back at Reefoint are the wonderful people who slip and work there. Last season if you swung a cat on the weekends, I swear you would have hit a Reefpoint employee. The summer kids worked hard to keep thngs moving in the right direction. What does it need? Updated east bathrooms and a little "reeling" in of the charters in terms of edicit such as fish crud sometimes left in the carts. What does it have? Many great resturants (one on premise, the rest are walking distance), good protection from the waves, lots of elbow room, and as I said before wonderful boaters and some great staff working the docks. If you are cruising the lower west side of Lake Michigan you should make it a point to stop over.
First stopped here in 2008 while returning a boat from the Mac race. Tired crew wanted to stop for a real shower, Reef Point did not disappoint. Great showers and heads, large (but unshaded) swimming pool, and the bar/restaurant on the second level of the main building offers excellent views. Staff was helpful with both pump-out and docking. Check-in at the office was straight forward and handled with many smiles. The people seemed to like working there. Walked into town, but came right back. Not much to see. Talked with some of the locals at the Tiki Bar and found great dinner suggestion.
Returned again mid-summer '09 and found the place hopping with people. I was a little worried how late into the night the noise would continue, but about 10pm all went quite. Grounds were kept clean, and the pool never got crowded. Can't say the same for the bar.
I plan to return again this summer. A gem on Lake Michigan.
One of the largest (if not the largest) marinas on Lake Michigan, Reefpoint provides good amenities with good proximity to town. The marina restaurant is now back on solid footing, the restrooms have been upgraded to include A/C, and downtown Racine is very close by.
Located between Chicago and Milwaukee, Reefpoint Marina is a hidden gem, offering the best in convenience, customer care and value. Reefpoint Marina is owned by Racine County and professionally managed by Siegel-Gallagher Management Company, a national leader in responsible property management. We are pleased to offer all the amenities a boater should expect at their home port, including Valvtect marine fuel, plus many more! Convenience means a short drive from Reefpoint Marina to downtown Racine, Wisconsin. Shopping, dining and entertainment are just a few blocks away. Weekend events, entertainment and activities fill the calendar in friendly Racine, promising fun for all ages. Whether you want a quiet night in after a day on the Lake, or a night filled with fun, Reefpoint will meet your needs. Daily guest fees are based off slip length.
