Last minute request to get a mooring for a few hours while we went into town for dinner. Port Jefferson Yacht Club was very accommodating and made the whole process easy.

Very unique! Loved it. Short walk to the heart of town where all the action is. So it’s a perfect quiet place to be able to come back to.

The yacht facilities are outdated and worn. 3 ferries come back and forth many times daily from Bridgeport. The power station barge is noisy. The town is great. Historic homes, plenty of restaurants. Nice people. Concerts in the park.

My stay was fine, but expensive. Eighty bucks for a mooring for the night? The launch drive was good and very responsive.

We stayed here twice this trip – 2 nights last week and one night this time. Our stays were delightful. All the launch drivers were top notch professionally, friendly and especially helpful with our injured dog. The Dockmaster was especially nice visiting to check on us. I can’t recommend PJYC more highly!

Port Jefferson Yacht Club offers a safe retreat from the waters of the Long Island Sound. Weather you stay on one of their numerous and safe transient moorings, or at their dock, you will be met by staff that is both courteous and friendly. I really like to anchor or moor and their launch service is great! Whether you step off your boat from the swim platform or a spot on the deck, they have designed specially built platforms for you to safely transfer to the launch, actually the only one I've seen in my 50+ years of boating.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! We had Scott and another gentleman as launch drivers and they were super. The other could be more welcoming, and accommodating. Walking down to the dock (3 of us), were very close and he zipped off for 15 minutes to pick up 1 person leaving us incredulous. We did try multiple times to contact them once in the channel, as they advised, to no avail. Also, the ropes were tangled on the mooring balls. We used the shower which was good. Pasta, Pasta was a wonderful eatery for the ambiance and food!

Directions were clear. Mooring ball in good condition, well marked and located short ride to dock. Launch service excellent. Location perfect with the park next door and main street and its restaurants close. Port Jefferson is a lovely harbor.

About Port Jefferson Yacht Club

The Port Jefferson Yacht Club offers transient guest facilities including slips, and moorings ranging from 300 to 600 lbs, which are available for overnight cruisers.

Dock & Slip Space up to 90'. (Space is limited above 56', contact us at [email protected] for availability)

Rates per foot have a 28' minimum for slips, and 36' for moorings.

Fee includes:

Launch service to and from our docks on the southeastern corner of the harbor.
During July and August, launch service runs 8 AM thru late evening.
See our Launch Schedule with specific hours of operation for other times.
Free WiFi at the slips.
Power and Water at the slips.
Block and cube ice are available from our courteous launch staff.
Overnight mooring guests may tie up to the dock to clean or provision their vessels during off-peak hours for up to 20 minutes (space is limited).
Use of our facilities including showers, grills, a canopied deck with a fabulous view of Port Jefferson Harbor, and a bar on weekends.
Port Jefferson Village is just a short walk from our docks.

EXTENDED STAY DISCOUNTS: For mooring reservations of 7 to 27 days, the daily rate is $60/day regardless of boat length. Mooring reservations of 28 days and longer are $54/day, regardless of boat length.
