What sets this marina apart is the level of attention to a visitor's needs: the Dockwa page provides extensive information about the marina including maps of the docks and mooring field, along with approach guidance, and useful information about local shops, restaurants and activities. They were responsive and accommodating with respect to my reservation, which I had to move due to some unforeseen problems with my boat that delayed my arrival.

I usually stay at the PJYC several times a year as a good location when working my way East or West through the LI sound. Good protection except when the wind is out of the North. It appears that the moorings were recently upgraded with new pick up sticks. Good proxmity to restaurants. Joe the launch operator is fantastic, and while other yacht clubs and Marinas appear ro be cutting back on when launches are operating, PJYC has them operating until 11 or 11:30 pm in season and until around 9:30pm off season.
THE BAD NEWS: THE MEN'S ROOM IS USUALLY GROSS ( LADIES ROOM IS LARGER BUT NOT MUCH BETTER.) BOTH ONLY HAVE ONE TOILET AND ONE SINK ( TWO SHOWERS). ON A RECENT VISIT, MEN'S ROOM TOILET WAS STUFFED AND DISGUSTING. NOT THE FIRST TIME. SHOWER DRAINS HAVE BEEN BACKED UP. IT IS TIME TO UPGRADE THE REST ROOM FACILITIES.
Marina Response:
Over the last three years we have expanded our docks to accomodate our popular destination. As you know we are a short walk from the many Village Shops, Restaurants, and our Great Village Center. We also host The State University of New York's Rowing & Sailing Clubs. "We are experiencing growing pains" as we increase our transient and hosting capacity. We have a small Clubhouse that we hope to improve on through time and have made our maintenance a priority. We value your visits and your understanding in the future.

We love using the moorings at the PJYC. It’s easy to walk to town. The moorings are also close to their dinghy dock if you bring your dinghy, if not they do have launch service. Even though Port Jeff is the next harbor West from ours we love to go there for a little get away that feels like a vacation.

About Port Jefferson Yacht Club
The Port Jefferson Yacht Club offers transient guest facilities including slips, and moorings ranging from 300 to 600 lbs, which are available for overnight cruisers.
Dock & Slip Space up to 90'. (Space is limited above 56', contact us at [email protected] for availability)
Fee includes:
- Launch service to and from our docks on the southeastern corner of the harbor.
- During July and August, launch service runs 8 AM until 11 PM, Monday thru Thursday. And until 11:30 PM Friday through Sunday.
- See our Launch Schedule with specific hours of operation for other times.
- Free WiFi at the slips.
- Power and Water at the slips.
- Block and cube ice are available from our courteous launch staff.
- Overnight mooring guests may tie up to the dock to clean or provision their vessels during off-peak hours for up to 20 minutes (space is limited).
- Use of our facilities including showers, grills, a canopied deck with a fabulous view of Port Jefferson Harbor, and a bar on weekends.
- Port Jefferson Village is just a short walk from our docks.
EXTENDED STAY DISCOUNTS: For mooring reservations of 7 to 27 days, the daily rate is $42.85 a 27% discount from our minimum daily rate, regardless of boat length. Mooring reservations of 28 days and longer are $35.71 per day regardless of boat length, 38% discount from our minimum daily rate. For reservation on the docks and mooring of 5 nights, only pay for 4, a 20% discount.
Booking Info
We offer daily moorage and hourly dockage. Dock and moorings day reservations are limited in availability.
Docks are $1.25/ft/hr with a two hour minimum. Moorings are $50 for a day trip.
Check-In is after noon.
