I rarely give five stars to a marina. Liberty Landing in New Jersey, with its million dollar view of the Manhattan skyline, got five stars. Navy Pier Marina, on Navy Pier in Chicago, also got five stars. Both are totally top notch. Occasionally, I give five stars to a not-so-fancy marina when the people there go above and beyond the call of duty to take care of their customers. Ess-Kay in Bremerton NY got five stars when the owner gave me keys to her personal car to drive into town to pick up my kidney transplant meds. And Two Georges Marina in Shalimar FL gets five stars for the same reason. While it lacks a million dollar view and the marina facility is not the fanciest, the people who work there are top notch. You never see employees standing around, doing nothing. We left our boat there for an eight day visit home. One of the service guys walks the entire marina everyday to check all boats. Another boat, with whom we were traveling, had some work done while they were also gone. When the owner got the bill, he remarked “that’s less than I expected it to be.” Have you ever thought that about a bill for service in a marina? And after we departed, he discovered a problem with the repair. The marina service people dropped everything to address the problem, then gave us both slips for the night as it was too late to move on. That’s not the sort of thing that would be in their procedure manual. That was somebody simply saying that they should do the right thing. Clearly, the owners of the marina are investing in upgrading the marina and hiring good people. If you’re a Looper looking for a repair before crossing the Gulf, Two Georges should be on the top of the list. It’s also a good place just to stop.

Fueled up and spent a night at Two Georges. Very nice staff and nice facility. If you have a larger vessel (60' or bigger) I suggest you call ahead to make sure the place works for you. I didn't see any larger slips available, and we (75') were put on the fuel dock for the night which was fine except there was only one 50-amp plug and no 100 amp. We use two 50-amp cords, one for main, other for AC/heat. With only one available we couldn't run AC/heat overnight. No problem this time of year but had it been summer or winter it wouldn't have worked, or we would have had to run the generator all night. Just something to be aware of when making your plans. Great fuel price and a nice little shop to get some essentials. Several restaurants were a 10-minute walk. In fact, one Mexican restaurant that Ashley there recommended was excellent, sorry don't remember the name. All in all a very nice stay

Great marina with easy access and friendly staff. Great restaurant recommendations and easy walk to town. Only complaint is their amenities (especially showers and restrooms) are subpar. Need more hanging/storage solutions in showers.

Another great stay on our way up the Rivers for the spring/summer. This time was different but even better. We arrived after hours so we docked at the fuel dock. They gave us the option of a slip on the marina side for convenience to the courtesy car or docking at the fuel dock. We enjoyed docking at the fuel dock for an easy in and fuel first thing in the am. The bathrooms and laundry area looked brand new. Like the marina side bathrooms and laundry, they were exceptionally clean. A super friendly young man helped us fuel up around 7-7:30 am. As we were told, we did have to walk a ways around to get to the courtesy car but it wasn't that far and much needed stretch of our legs after anchoring out two nights. We saw rabbits, geese, birds... such a peaceful walk along a gravel road.

We had a quiet night on the dock. We walked to town about 6/10 of a mile. We did not use the bathrooms or any other facilities, but staff was friendly and the facilities look well kept.

Called at last minute and they accommodated our boat and travel buddy boat. Very helpful

Good marina with great staff. Easy to reserve through Dockwa. We requested a side tie to make getting off the boat easier and the marina got us, and a buddy boat spots on the back side of the fuel dock. Staff was very helpful with handling lines.

Decent place to stay. Short finger piers. It is a working yard and if you need work may be a place for you. Somewhat nearby town. Didn’t use any other facilities. Hard to get anyone on the radio, had to call on phone.

Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The level of service was much higher than at other marinas. Two Georges Marina will always be our first choice in the Destin and Ft Walton area!

A great stop on a hot day. We had a special request which the harbormaster quickly accommodated. Docks are well built and were at a height that allows for easy on/off. Clean restrooms, always a plus. Wonderful harbor host too!

It was July of 2023 and I was traveling from the Tampa area to Mobile, AL when my starboard motor began overheating. I stopped here to get fuel and try and make some quick repairs.
