Excellent stay with excellent staff

Great marina, fun place to stay! Aubrey and Ben on the docks were awesome getting us tied off on arrival and thanks to Julia and Seve (dock mgr) for taking care of us at the fuel dock, appreciate it! Beautiful place, flowers all over, very nice resort vibe, loved the big herb garden by the grill and social area, nice touch! And liked the bocce court too! Super clean modern bathhouses, great water pressure. Loved the pool, very clean with lovely landscaping around it. Really big ship store too. Bridgeport to Port Jeff ferry close by, makes a nice day trip. Outriggers Restaurant on site, fabulous place!!! Fantastic food drinks and service!! Love the resort vibe, what a wonderful stop along our journey!! Will definitely be back!

Safe Harbor has invested a lot here and it shows. The facilities are well run and staff pay attention to the details. Very clean and extensive services, both hospitality and mechanical. Sebastian cares about the yard and clients. They don’t have a lot of excess capacity for larger transients but worth checking for short term openings.

Bonjour, I just spent some time at Safe Harbor Stratford and I had the best experience. The first thing that standed out was Seve, the Dockmaster, genuinely went above and beyond to make sure everything was good from the moment we docked until we left. Note that there is a strong current so I recommend arriving at slack tide. The marina itself has so many nice places to relax. There's a comfortable lounge with giant screen, cubicles, a beautiful gazebo, a fire pit for the evening, covered picnic tables, BBQ grills, even a bocce court! The ship store is well furnished and has much more than the usual marina essentials. You can tell they really thought about making it a place where people actually want to spend time, not just tie up the boat. The restaurant on site is another big plus. Happy Hour is always a good excuse to meet fellow boaters, and they often had live music which gives the whole marina a really nice atmosphere. Everything you may need is close by. There's a seafood market, an oyster bar, a bait and tackle shop, a liquor store, and if you need bigger supplies, Home Depot and Walmart are just a little further away. Another thing I really appreciated was how easy it is to get around without a car. The Stratford train station is only about an 18-minute walk, making crew changes or day trips into New York or New Haven very easy. As a French chef, I especially loved the herb garden. Being able to pick fresh basilic, thyme, rosemary, chives, celery, tarragon and other herbs is such a unique touch. It may sounds like a small detail, but for someone who loves cooking aboard, it really made my day. Overall, I think Safe Harbor Stratford is much more than just a marina. It's a perfect place to meet up with crew, catch-up with family and friends visiting, or simply spend a few relaxing days before heading back out on LIS. I'll definitly be coming back. Thank you!

Very well maintained marina. Spotless and beautiful. From the extremely clean pool, bathrooms, showers and grounds, the docks reflect the same care as the entire marina. Great restaurant on the premises as well. All staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. A definite “come back” transient location !!!THE ZACS, Manhasset NY

Our stay at Safe Harbor Stratford was great. The marina is in top shape and very well maintained. Seve Depardon (Dockmaster) went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and gave us rides to town to get groceries and propane. You can’t ask much more of a marina as a transient than what we received at Safe Harbor Stratford.

Our stay was for one night on our way to NY. Overall a very nice marina, clean and modern, nice pool area and easy access to all amenities, and landscaped gardens. Dockhands and Dock Master were very helpful and pleasant. Jack welcomed us at the fuel dock and then helped us docked at our slip. The tide is quite strong being on a river, especially on the approach at mid tide. We had a relaxed stay (much needed after an exhausting 8 hour sail!!) and will be back should the opportunity arise.

We went down to Safe Harbor Stratford this past weekend. Still our favorite marina. Steve and Josh are just great. Members are always friendly. Facility is well maintained and clean. Safe Harbor Stratford is an exceptional marina –The staff is awesome, the facilities are modern and very well tended, and their service is second to none. Our dockmates were quite genial, and access to town and all the major highways is direct and only a few minutes away. This spring we had the marina replace our prop shaft and cutlass bearing, and install a dripless lip seal in place of the old stuffing box. Encountering a few perplexing problems along the way, they solved them effectively and efficiently, and did a marvelous job of it. The new seal is tight and dry, and everything came out fine. Again, I must say that the staff at Safe Harbor Stratford is beyond outstanding. They are all quite professional, more than a little accommodating, and always with a friendly and good natured attitude. Their technical staff is knowledgeable and highly skilled, and the dockyard staff are always ready to lend a hand when needed. All in all, one of the best marinas I have seen.

I posted back in Feb about an incident I had with this location after having an excellent dealing with their other locations. It seems this was a one off incident and was rectified beyond what I was looking for. Management was phenomenal and more than apologetic for something that was out of their control. I have since dealt with them throughout the entire summer of ‘22 and every contact has been positive. They are more than responsive to your needs.

5 stars all the way! Jason and the team at Safe Harbor Stratford were amazing with a variety of projects on our Sabre 34. Super easy to work with, very responsible, knowledgeable, and professional. Highly recommend for storage and boat repair!

I bought a sailboat through the safe harbor brokerage out of N Kingston, RI. My Broker, Lynn was awesome. While taking the boat back to Stratford, CT, I hit some pretty rough seas. I called Mystic Safe Harbor and they were more than accommodating. They charged me a $1 a foot for the night with power and access to the facilities. I left that morning for my second leg to Stratford. I rounded into the Housatonic River around 8:30pm. For whatever reason, I was unable to reach the bridge operator to get to my slip on the other side. I was assured by my broker and the Safe Harbor broker in RI that they would be more than willing to assist me. Being 8:30pm, obviously the yard was closed. I had no other choice to tie up and did so at their fuel dock. In the morning, I was awoken by an employee stating he needed to “speak to the Capt”. It took me a minute to clear my head as it had been a rough week trying to get the boat down in an appropriate weather window. My experience at Mystic could not have been any more opposite then how I was treated by Stratford. I was looked at, treated like and had verbalized to me that I was a criminal. I was charged exponentially/excessively more for my night stay. After paying, I requested fuel and was denied it. Stating the pumps were closed. I returned to my boat for a nap while waiting for the tide to come in. I contacted the bridge to ensure the attendant was there. After waking at slack tide, I went above to prep the lines to shove off for the 1/4 mile trip to my slip and saw the long haired hippy employee that treated me like a criminal and refused me fuel filling up another boat. I hope this is an isolated incident, since I was treated so well by Mystic,but I doubt it. When trying to survey my boat in RI, I had to use an adjacent yard to pull the boat despite the buying and selling brokers were both from Safe Harbor. Do visit the Mystic location, though. Beautiful yard, great people and beautiful location. Let your boat sink before ever using Stratford.

Great experience! Easy access to Long Island Sound…Clean professionally run facility…great quiet calm slip location… the 2 dockhands were spectacular.. very responsive especially when called to assist with docking. Outrigger Restaurant on site was great also…great frozen pina colada, crab fritters, lobster Mac/cheese, broiled scallop.. plenty outdoor waterside seating at restaurant . ( Just be aware of significant current if docking during max Ebb/Flood tide).

Staff was great . We came upon some rough waters and they were able to get us in after closing hours. Staff waited until we were secure. Well maintained a pleasure to work with.

The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Upon arrival, they helped me dock in high winds. They also immediately performed some needed (but unscheduled) repairs on my boat overnight. In every way, they went above and beyond. Josh was a particular stand-out.

This was our second time staying here. The dock staff is excellent! Beautiful clean marina, great pool. The seasonal customers are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
