It’s the surge that makes these docks bad. The location is stellar and the docks are in excellent shape. But the surge broke mooring lines and fenders. We had to stand guard and move fenders and adjust lines every 2 hours. They are trying to install a rock surge break but until that’s finished, prepare for some damage to your boat. Love the location, hate the surge

It was so rough we lost fenders, a neighboring boat tipped so hard it smashed his side window. Staff is great but only stay if it’s calm

Howard the dock master was excellent. Courteous and professional. This said, they definitely need a sea wall. We were in a 60’ boat and beaten up pretty bad.

The currents were too strong for the boat so we had to move it.

To many rollers from Jet ski & other boats with tourist on or taxi boats. Better Marian's far end of the island

This is a great marina with a great value right down town. RJ is attentive, professional, and very helpful. Yes, it's exposed and can be rolly. But if you are smart with fenders and dock lines it is absolutely safe and the benefits (amenities, location and price) way outweigh the downsides.

Very rugged! This fixed dock is VERY exposed to seas from NW. we considered ourselves lucky to sustain no damage. Boat next to us lost parts of its rail on two separate occasions despite both our boats having ALL the boats lines running across various slips and pilings. Docks too high. No hot water for 3 days… (too dangerous for us to GET OFF dock too). Dirty. Howard nice guy… but sooo glad to escape when the wind changed direction.

Howard the dock master is wonderful. The dock itself is well built. The location is good, but the swell and current coming through make the stay unpleasant and dangerous. We chaffed through our lines in just a few hours. Although we thankfully sustained no damage, the boat next to ours had serious damage. DO NOT even consider staying here until a sea wall is built to quiet the swell and current.

Possibly the worst marina I’ve ever stayed in. We had 3-4’ rolling waves all night our first night. My boat was tied off between 2 slips and we still received rubrail damage. We paid for 2 nights but left the next morning. Dockhand said we would receive a refund for the 2nd night but they never gave it to us. Don’t stay there unless the put in a break water. You’ll refretit.
Marina Response:
Good morning sir/madam, this is the dockmaster of the Pointe Marina. Could you let me know which day your stay was so I can look into why you did not receive your refund.

My boat was damage there so i change for a safer marina and they still charge me for the hole week.

Howard was an amazing and welcoming dockmaster there to help with anything we needed. Beautiful facility and real 240V power!

TJ was waiting at our slip to grab lines and expertly tie us up. Right there in Margaritaville resort. Also short walk to harbor Beach and stores. Only negative were the wakes from passing boats.

Horrible sea surge. I struggled for one hour to work around it. My vessel was never safe there. I departed for another marina after one hour and want a full refund.

The marina was beautiful and the staff extremely nice and helpful but the water was too rough, even at night with no wind and no waves. We had to leave earlier than planned.

This Marina and the staff that work there are nothing less than exceptional. We booked a 4 night stay on a passage we were making and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The facilities were very clean and there was plenty to do around the Marina that we felt perfectly comfortable walking to. The docks are practically new and even though they are susceptible to wakes from larger vessels coming through the channel we never felt worried or uncomfortable as we were tied up correctly. The electric and water rates were very reasonable. We had an amazing time and will certainly be back.

Unprotected Marina, very rough to the boat. Rough no matter how many lines and fenders were used. Made it very difficult to get off and on the boat. Howard is a great dock master and helped as much as he could, the owners just didn’t give him much to work with.

Dock C3 was very rolly one night even if we were protected by 3 yachts on the port side and a Catamaran on our starboard side to the point of breaking railing that got stuck under the dock and broke, needed to stay up the rest of the night to make sure it does not happen. C3 was a bit shallow for our boat (5.3 draft) as we touched ground 2 nights in a row at very low tide\n\nThe rest of the week was fine. The dock master is very helpfull and understanding... he is a 5 stars Marina dock master.\n\nThe good news is that they are improving, They will soon (3-6 months) have a break water wall installed and they will be dredging the whole marina to accommodate all size boats.

The dock master, Howard, was fantastic. He was super helpful and very pleasant. He also answered every question we had about the area. It’s a beautiful dock, but the protection from the winds is limited. Dockage includes all the amenities of the Margaritaville hotel/resort. Best dockage prices on the island too with our Dockwa discount.

This marina is unsafe until they build a sea wall. No protection. We were supposed to spend 4 night there and had to leave after 2. Had to use every line and fender on the boat to secure it and that wasn't enough. Damaged my boarding ladder and hull. The one line that was tied to a cleat instead of the pilings ripped the deck board right out. The cleats are only screwed to the deck board which are secured with regular deck screwed. At the end of the dock you can see the large cross members that brace the pilings and prevent sway were hanging and not even attached. Staff was pleasant while we were on site. We asked for credit for the two nights that we were there to help compensate for the damages. The credited one night. I would think that some goodwill wouldn't hurt. The dockmaster hasn't responded to follow up emails. The area is very nice. Hotel facilities are very pretty. If they built a sea wall and had the cleats, etc. properly secured, I'd consider going back. Unfortunately until then I wouldn't return.

Great location, Central to downtown Nassau Friendly staff, Very helpful No sea wall to protect serious waves from cruise ships North West winds make for very rough conditions

The marina is located at the Margaritaville resort. The staff were very helpful and attentive to our needs. The docks and slips are another story. We stayed for four days. During that time we experienced a wind shift from the north west which exposes the marina to the swells from the ocean. The boats in the slips experienced huge waves that tossed them four feet in the air. Having been warned by other boaters we deployed all fenders and extra dock lines to prevent damage. A few boats suffered rail damage. We will not return due to the risks. If a break water is installed this may become a great stop. At $.50/ft less that other nearby marinas we will gladly pay for the increased protection and stability.

Terrible! Awful current and exposure from multiple sides. Rocked and rolled all day and all night. Was thrown around the boat and bruises all over my body. Was not told that the marina faces directly out to ocean and commercial and local boat traffic create terrible wake 24/7. Met another couple who had made reservations for a month who also were not warned about the marina and they left after one night. Marina also advertises fast internet. Internet was nonexistent. Would not connect out to the boat slips. Only good if standing at the marina office. Definately the worst marina I have stayed at EVER in 40 years of boating. The marina should tell the truth and warn people. Our boat was also damaged from crashing against the pilings all night.

The marina is not safe for boats in with an offshore breeze. NW wind had boats with cleats ripped out. We had to spend an hour backing out of a slip with rocks too close and hitting bottom at low tide in a catamaran. Dangerous marina. Stay away.

Due to weather we wanted to stay an additional two days. Was told they would check. Went to office to confirm was told ok then they charged us for the nights. On Friday afternoon told that we had to leave Saturday

Lovely location and amenities with the Margaretaville water park and beach. Marina staff were very helpful and friendly. Very new docks and boardwalk. It can get a little bumpy as it’s close to Nassau harbour entrance and the cruise ships and tankers do their 180 degree spins right in front of the marina. So, make sure you have enough lines and fenders to ensure a good night’s sleep.
