We came here to do a boat repair (our fresh water pump had died) and to get some medical treatment. I was recently knocked over at a pedestrian crossing. Explained the situation to the staff and requested if we could stay for a month. We got told they couldn’t accommodate us even though the place was empty. 208 slips with only 15 boats in them. How is this place staying solvent and afloat ??? So not sure why we got denied we are not a party boat and keep ourselves to ourselves. Cash no longer works here and there are two new staff members. Stephan was awesome. I hope he stays as the place needs some stability and he seemed to be the only one with any common sense. The pedestal we hooked up to shore power was falling over , pointed it out was told they would get someone to fix it but after a week it was still the same when we left a week later.
The showers were only available during office hours and every time we used them there was one staff member that was freeking out about the water being used and them having to clean the bathrooms. I noticed that the showers are no longer offered as part of the services. Again not sure why this is such an issue when if you shower on your boat you use the same amount of water and it’s not like the staff are over run with customers
We would have stayed longer whilst I got my medical treatment sorted. It’s convenient for the medical services near by and short trips to the shops. The marina is the only place with availability in the area.
The picture of the marina really are not an accurate portrayal of the marina. Those are what it used to look like 10-20 years ago.
UPDate December 2023 ***** we stayed here again for two nights passing though. Nothing much has changed apart from the fact that there are fewer and fewer boats here. Less than 30 when you consider they have 120+ slips. There is now a liveaboard fee for each boat of staying more than a month. The showers and bathrooms are only available on certain days and between 9am-4pm at the marina offices only so we are not sure what the liveaboard fee is really for. There has been some improvement on the docks, as in a few of the boards replaced and some new pilings replacing ones that have rotted. They have built a gazebo to hang out in but I’m not sure why if you don’t want people to be here. There is no grill there . It’s a shame really as this must be the only marina on the east coast of Florida that is not full or buzzing with activity. ***************************************************************************************************************************May 2023. This is a marina you only want to stay a few nights minimum. Docks are in terrible shape. The city code enforcement are constantly at odds with the owners of this marina due to the number of code violations.
We stayed a few months and it is true what many of the other reviewers have already stated the owner is very difficult to deal with and constantly changing the rules.
owner will charge you for putting your dingy in the water , pump out is $40 at the fuel dock for everyone regardless of if you are staying in the marina and is not part of the dockage fee.
No parcel delivery are allowed .
staff turn over is very high. The owner either fires them or they leave quickly and get jobs at other marinas. This resulted in us being over charged a number of times and then having to try and get refunds back.
The marina is convenient for the local stores and an ACE Hardware. The channel is starting to fill in with silt so if your draft is over 6 foot you might need to think twice about getting a slip further into the marina. We grounded twice getting out with our 6.5 foot draft.

We love this place! There were cute little bunnies this time. We will be back!
Marina Response:
We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit and got to see some of the wildlife around the marina! We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Happy Sailing

Very basic accommodations. No restaurants or other commerce within walking distance but dock hand very helpful and easy on/off ICW.

No staff on a May Friday afternoon to receive us. The minimal facilities and the overall condition of this place is... not nice. Has the feel that they sold the property and that condos are coming soon. But I suppose it will do, just barely, for an overnight or for a wet storage situation.

We had a slip on the river and enjoyed the wildlife - dolphins, pelicans, manatees, It is located right before a swing bridge which was nice, no fast traffic. And enjoyed watching the rowing crews each morning.

Staff was friendly. Bathroom clean. Water hook up was available but not super close. We ended up at the fuel dock because we arrived after hours.

We are doing the loop, have a power catamaran and called and talked to Dwayne at Telemar, and he indicated he could accommodate us. In reading the reviews we were worried what we might encounter but nothing could have been further from the truth! The slip was great, Dwayne was there to help us with our lines and he gave us a good intro to the area and was very pleasant to deal with. The bathrooms and showers were nice and clean. Publix is a mile from the marina ands some nice restaurants nearby as well. Would definitely come back!

Great place to tie up for the night in this area being a 98' motor yacht with 6.5' draft.

We stop here each year as we head south to the Bahamas. Always a warm pleasant stay. Helpful dock hands. Clean restrooms. And an abundance of playful dolphins in the bay.

Cash was so helpful when we arrived at 4:45 pm. She grabbed our lines and helped us fuel. So appreciative of her help and friendly demeanor. This was a great stop in the ICW. You can walk to dinner at Dano’s and the pelicans and dolphins give you a show at sunset!

Management is borderline hostile to the boaters. Docks are deteriorating with minimal repairs

Docks are falling apart, the power and water are intermittent, and they went through 3 sets of employees in the 2 months I was there. There are a list of other issues that I only heard about, the bottom line is that of the employees, patrons, contractors, neighbors and a few random strangers that had heard of the place, none of them had anything good to say about the ownership.
I would strongly suggest avoiding this establishment until it's under new owners.

Worse Marina. We have lived and traveled on our boat for 4 years. Never have we seen a place so poorly operated. If a boater had a positive experience, the person who provided good service has been fired or quit. No one stays.
DO NOT trust the fuel or diesel. Water gets in the tanks from every rain. Pump out is at the fuel dock and they don't know how to use it ($20 per pump out and the price will change often). Who knows what the rates are. Everyone is quoted a different rate, and will change it on you. I paid $16.50 a ft, but it's been quoted up to $35 a ft. Staff will never help grab lines, they will ask other boats to help tie off lines. They have been told its a liability. (Should be their job) The docks are in extremely poor shape, replacing only what the fire marshal requires. Constant litigation, code violations, and suits with the city. Unsafe walkways, docks falling apart, missing and weak pilings. Power issues all over, inconsistent depth, some as low as 3 feet. I've seen multiple boats on the bottom. Laundry machines are rusted, small, and gross. Charging a liveaboard fee for zero amenities. (Which is always changing, I paid $200) Can not receive mail or packages, no wifi, no security, no maintainance, require the liveaboard guests to clean the bathrooms, and they refuse to buy paper towels and cleaning supplies. They will scream at staff, guests, and micromanage. Even in front of other boaters. Try to avoid at all cost. They do not understand how to bill and use their system, multiple complaints weekly about overcharging and multiple charges. We were charged 3x in 1 month. Others are charged again after leaving. We were told they are no longer taking boats over 20 years old, and you can't sell your boat in the marina. They unplugged our boat for "maintance" (Not using a licensed electrician, but a fellow boater) popping all my breakers. Saw a boat sink, and they just walked by, offering no help and not calling the boat owner for 2 days. There are many other marinas with great fuel, friendly staff, and beautiful amenities close by. Just go elsewhere.

Management changed...went from good to bad quickly. I wouldn't recommend it except for short stays or fuel.

Stay far away from this place even if for a night. Do not give this hateful and demented owner a dime of your money, trust me. We’ve been here since November and the owner seems to come up with a different, absolutely absurd new rule every day. Anywhere from trying to charge $40 for pump out, $20/day for displaying LED Christmas lights on boats, no liveaboards with kids (according to him there is no such thing as homeschooling), no bottom cleaning, no boats under 40’, no boats older than 10 years (which clears out the entire marina). It just goes on and on. All of the intelligent and hardworking people that had been working there he’s fired or they quit for mental health reasons because he treats everyone like crap here. Including family. And if you want clean bathrooms, don’t come here after April 4th since all cleaning will now be up to boaters even though they pay a liveaboard fee. Docks are falling in, pilings are weak or missing, tripping hazards are everywhere. And good luck getting help with your lines coming in or leaving. You’re on your own. We have been in touch with the city code enforcement who is once again asking them to come into compliance.

My personal experience was great. I hit there just after 5 on Sunday. Melissa stayed when she could have gone home and helped me dock. Then another staff member, Gavin came by the next day to check if I needed anything. Cool guy. I’d go back.

IT was just ok, Lucy was great, but the docks are not in great shape

We were a bit hesitant to book TELEMAR Bay Marina due to the low ratings on Active Captain, Waterway Guide… but it was a convenient location as we have family nearby and we needed a slip for 2 months. We had seen some recent Facebook comments regarding new management so we decided to give it a try. This marina no longer deserves the low ratings that it has previously received! Drew, Enno, and Nichole at Telemar were extremely accommodating and made our stay truly enjoyable. The Marina is located within walking distance to Publix, ACE Hardware , restaurants, parks, any really anything you might need. The beach is a short bike ride away. We will definitely be coming back to Telemar!
