Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 2 days of bands of rain, but were able to time some walks and museum visits between downpours. Especially liked the pool table outside under cover and the ability to do wash at a reasonable price in good machines. We stayed one night mooring ball and 2 at the dock. Two suggestions...each night stay on mooring ball should come with 2 ride vouchers for the launch. And installation of turf grass pad just to the right after coming off the dock would make it much easier to keep dogs from peeing on the bushes. After a long dock walk from the boat, they are dying to pee immediately so trying to get them out the gate to the grass is nearly impossible. A turf mat with the hose nearby would make pet owner clean up simple and convenient

Pretty good, but i was on end dock with stern to harbor entrance and a bit windy. i was able to find parts and make repairs to my boat. very convenient place to buy marine parts

We always enjoy our visits to Pope's Island marina where we always get a mooring. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the moorings seem very secure.

Dock master and launch driver were great. Mooring held in 40 knots plus gust in squall ! Recommend a visit to the Whaling Museum near by.

Great marina! Modern laundry, restroom and shower facilities. Docks are clean and easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and attentive. Launch service made our mooring as convenient as a slip. The port is busy without being crowded and you can find most anything your boat may want or need in this harbor.

A good stay on mooring #9. Impressed with the newness and quality of showers and restrooms. Disappointed not to have a chair/stool to sit on while changing clothes or a soap dish on shower. Small things but they make a big difference in the use of the shower. Doubly disappointing to have marina employee blow me off when I friendly suggestions about making the showers more "user friendly".

Really calm marina. Super friendly staff. In the winter a pump out boat comes once a week and you will never meet happier people staffing the pump out boat then here at Pope's! The marina bathrooms and showers are new, there's a new huge accessible playground nextdoor, across the street you can grab some Dunkin, and it's easy to get deliveries to the marina. There's a gate between the parking lot and marina entrance. The town has everything you need, including West Marine right down the road. Beautiful place! We stayed for a little over a month and loved it.

I have stayed for two seasons at Pope's Island Marina. Great staff! Very friendly and always very helpful. New bathrooms this year (2025) and they look great. Marina is always well maintained. I love it there.

We spent a great Summer at Pope's Island Marina, our only regret is the end of the season! We look forward to next season and all the good friends we have made! This year we had personal issues that kept us away, and the staff looked after our boat. The boat comes out Nov 1. We will be back next year

The Port of New Bedford invites you to stay at Pope’s Island Marina and experience why we call it Destination New Bedford. Pope's Island Marina is centrally located right in the middle of Historic New Bedford harbor and proudly managed by the New Bedford Port Authority. Offering award winning guest services and reasonably priced accommodations, Pope's Island Marina is the chosen destination for boaters from all around the world.
