Great marina and great people! Very helpful even though we were arriving on Christmas Eve. Super hot showers were a nice bonus!

Great! Loved how well marked the channel is into the marina plus Billy is awesome! Can’t beat that fuel price plus use of the courtesy van!!

Billy, Senior Harbormaster, was awesome! So friendly and kind. We planned to leave early in the morning so he asked if I would be able to bake the famous Pebble Isle cinnamon buns myself. Yup. He delivered them to the boat and I baked them myself. My cabin smells delicious! Used the courtesy car to run into town for groceries and pizza. Great stop!

Great stop! Thanks for the awesome cinnamon rolls! As long as you take it easy going in and follow the well-marked channel, it's easy in and out.

Great stop on the Tennessee River and good mexican restaurant close by with the use of the courtesy car provided by the marina.

Was a bit shallow but staff helped us get docked and provided a courtesy van for 4 boats to go exploring and enjoying a dinner together. I was looking forward to the morning cinnamon rolls but alas the crews wanted to get underway early due to impending weather, maybe next time. Would go there again.

Billy, the harbormaster was awesome. He made homemade cinnamon rolls for all of the transient yes. Very kind. He even stayed late on a Sunday night to help us fuel when we got in after closing time.

A fantastic overnight stop. Bob was very welcoming. We appreciated the use of the van to get a few groceries. The deliciously fresh cinnamon buns are outstanding. We enjoyed a 7 km hike in the nearby state park…Johnsville Historic state park

Easy entry and exit. Stayed on fuel dock. Bob was still there even after close to assist if we needed it. Fuel, water, and pump out next morning at 8. And who can forget the fresh baked cinnamon buns! No AGLCA discount on fuel but has BoatUS if you ask for it. Would stay again.

The young ladies working as dock hands need a fire set under them! We called and asked for help tying up our very large boat and they were slowly coming out of the office as we are at the dock! The boater next door came out to help!!!! They were clueless but sure wanted to wait for their tip!

Great stay at Pebble Isle Marina. Easy reservations via Dockwa, well-marked entry channel, and Bob’s hospitality made getting there easy. The cinnamon rolls on the morning of departure made it hard to leave.

Good location, restaurant, courtesy car and cinnamon rolls in the morning. Diesel 2.99 also. Billy and his group do a good job and made the stay pleasant. At winter pool, we did see a couple areas of 6’ water.

A boater's guide to Pebble Isle Marina

Located in the tranquil Trace Creek off Kentucky Lake, Pebble Isle Marina is a boater’s oasis. Take a break from cruising the Tennessee River and spend your time relaxing dockside with a drink at the Grey-Heron Grill, stocking up on supplies in town, or taking in some history and sights hiking through the neighboring Johnsonville State Historic Park.

Approach and dockage

Pebble Isle Marina is tucked away in a large secluded cove off of the Tennessee River at mile marker 96. The marina channel will be on your port side if you are coming upstream (headed south) and marked with secondary channel markers. The channel winds a bit and takes you close to the northern shore (on your port side), so just be sure to follow the channel markers closely.

The fuel dock and marina office will be towards your port side once you are facing the marina. The transient dock is the long uncovered dock directly to the east (on the other side) of the fuel dock. Transient boats tie up along either side of the dock.

You can reach the dockmaster on VHF Channel 16 or by phone at 931-535-3827. Marina hours are 7 days a week 8-4 pm and often longer in the summer.

Pebble Isle Marina amenities

Bathrooms/Showers

One men’s and one women’s bathrooms open 24/7 on the side of the restaurant, close to the transient docks. Showers and additional bathrooms are located a bit of a hike through the parking lot and shared with the campground. They require a keycode to enter.

Laundry

Coin operated machines (one washer and one dryer) are available in the bathhouse where the showers and restrooms are located. A keycode is needed to enter.

Fuel/Pump-Out

Once you come in or before you take off, head over to the fuel dock to fuel up (gas and diesel) and pump out. Be sure to ask for the Boat US discount on fuel. (If Billy’s helping you out, also ask which of the houseboats used to belong to Dolly Parton’s sister.)

Courtesy Car

Available when you need it in the marina parking lot. Use it to drive the short distance to Johnsonville State Historic Park or the 15 minutes to the Walmart Supercenter in Waverly to stock up.

Pet-Access

The marina has access to spacious grounds to walk your pet on shore.

Morning Cinnamon Buns

If they're available when you’re there, they’re known to have fresh cinnamon buns available in the fall for boaters passing through.

Ship Store

Located on the fuel dock, the ship store has basic items for your cruising needs, from snacks to apparel to basic marine parts/accessories. If they don’t have it, they are happy to order it for you.

Repair Services

They offer mechanical, electrical, and boatyard services on site. If needed, give them a call at 931-535-3827 to discuss your boat needs and what they can offer. TowBoat US also operates out of the marina in case you need help on the water.

Grey-Heron Grill

Pebble Isle’s water-front restaurant, known for their catfish, offers a range of food and drinks in a laid-back, casual atmosphere. They’re only open seasonally (April-September), so if you aren’t able to catch them when you’re there, you’ll need the courtesy car to get to another dining option.

Proximity to attractions by land

Johnsonville State Historic Park (0.6 miles away)

Johnsonville State Historic Park is a 1,000 acre park about a half mile from the marina, full of hiking, river views, and history. It was once the site of the Johnsonville Depot, which moved supplies that came by boat to aid Union soldiers in Tennessee and Georgia. Confederate soldiers attacked the depot in the Battle of Johnsonville in 1864 during the Civil War. The area then became the town of Johnsonville, before the Tennessee Valley Authority dammed the river to create Kentucky Lake in the 1940s. Historic markers dot the grounds helping share the story of what took place years ago. The entrance is about a half mile from Pebble Isle Marina and easily walkable. However, if you want to see the whole park, recommend biking and then picking up one of the several hiking trails by foot. Heads up as there are some steep hills to climb once in the park.
