We had a frustrating docking experience that did not match the Safe Harbor expectations we have come to know. After docking, we were in a position that did not provide the level of power we opted for in the reservation. In addition, we were disappointed by the amount of bird droppings that were on our T-Head. We have visited many Safe Harbor properties throughout the East Coast and have had incredible experiences, so this was particularly disappointing.

We apologize you did not enjoy your stay with us @ SHM Newport Shipyard! The original berth assignment was to go to our T Head as it was a late arrival and wanted to provide easy access. When we realized you could not connect to the power on our T Head, we moved you to another berth to provide you the necessary single phase power (with no bird droppings). We recommend making bookings ahead of time to properly plan for arrival. This marina was very good with the exception of showers and laundry. The coin only operated dryers did not dry. Outside of that it was impressive being docked in amongst true mega yachts many over 200 ft in length. Fun

One of the best marinas we’ve ever visited. The dockhands are top notch. Incredibly competent. And our 37-foot boat could have been a tender to 99 percent of the ships there, yet we were treated like first class all the way. Only knock I have is very low water pressure at the dock, but that’s hardly a deal breaker. Highly recommended.

Our stay was excellent. Nice secure location. Dock hands seemed well trained and very helpful with any issues we had. Office personnel were also very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely rebook in the future.

Exceptional service as always. Alex was particularly helpful as we had mechanical issues coming in. The courtesy cars were quite helpful in securing needed parts. We particularly appreciate the high quality service as a small sailing vessel.

Dockmaster Charlie was fantastic and extremely helpful. Location cannot be beat. It is a working shipyard, but the amenities are quite serviceable although it can be quite the walk depending on where your boat is tied up. All the staff and yard workers were great, friendly and helpful

Newport Shipyard is beyond impressive in so many aspects. Most importantly, Tom and his crew always go above and beyond for our accommodations. While our slip neighbors are typically 100'+ larger than us, the Newport Shipyard team still treats us like the royal family. Top notch facility. Top notch staff. Perfect communication. Always a pleasure staying here.

Staff was great. The trailer bathrooms were clean but hold your breath when you flush . I guess if you're in a superyacht, you won’t be using them.

Charlie and his crew were great. They really know what they are doing and were always friendly and responsive. Also, they treated everyone the same way -- whether you stepped off a mega-yacht or a much more modest vessel!

The team was amazing and helpful. The docks are in a good location and nice and quiet. The breakfast and lunch place is convenient and the restrooms were very clean. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed for one night at the Newport Shipyard location, 5/24-5/25 of 2025. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Lots of docking space. There’s also a cafe at the marina with great food and open early 7:30 am for breakfast.
