Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard

The staff, from the top down was very helpful and accommodating. Charlie, the Dockmaster was excellent with keeping the lines of communication open and returning calls promptly. A very good experience!

The Marina does nor return calls for dock slip requests nor do they respond to requests through Dockwa, even if you are a Safe Harbor member. Very disappointed.

Dockmaster Charlie was fantastic and extremely helpful. Location cannot be beat. It is a working shipyard, but the amenities are quite serviceable although it can be quite the walk depending on where your boat is tied up. All the staff and yard workers were great, friendly and helpful

Staff was great. The onsite cafe had a great breakfast. Docks were in good condition. The WiFi was next to unusable.

Excellent marina, great staff! I came in solo on a very small (for Newport) sailboat, was met at the dock, given assistance tying up, and had all my questions answered. I used a free loaner car to get gas. That is a great feature and was much appreciated.

Tim was helpful the morning we came in to set things up for us. When we pulled out a few days later, the wind was strong so he pulled up in an inflatable to help guide us past another boat if needed. Dockmaster Charlie was also very nice. When we came in that first day, James and Kevin were great with the lines and helping to set up power and water. We also had a good experience with the security crew each time we walked back to the marina. Brian and Corey were friendly and respectful. On top of that, we had a wonderful time in Newport for four days. Great town. I should also add that, as members of another Safe Harbor marina, Abby at the Safe Harbor Concierge was instrumental in making this trip happen so kudos to her as well.

Great staff and very helpful. We are a small vessel in the midst of beautiful super yachts and we were treated very well, which we truly appreciate. From dock lines to pay if the land, help was offered. Charlie and his team are the best!

Great communication from the dockmaster and docking help at arrival. A layout of the marina was sent so it was clear where we were to dock. Location was convenient to the transportation center for busses. The only negative was that we asked for a pumpout. They have pumpout connections on every floating dock so a guy came with a hose and performed the pumpout quickly. As a Safe Harbor member I expected the pumpout to be without charge like every other SH marina that I have visited. Not so, I got a $25 charge plus tax which is their flat charge up to 100 gallons. I was not told about this charge ahead of time so it was an unpleasant surprise. So, visitors beware!

Pascal was great w directions and help docking. Some very expensive gel coat tied up here.

(date??): Crew there was great; very pleasant and helpful!!! bathroom facilities were less than expected...shared public, not marina men's and lady's...a bummer. docks and such were great. great protected location. hope to go again sometime this year! .... 2020: well, we went again for the 4th and again it was outstanding! 3 boats shared a finger dock (comfortably) which was unexpected and appreciated! Watched sunset from the marina, awesome. Breakfast at Belle's, awesome! can't wait to go back... ......... Mem Day wkend 2021...forecast nothing to brag about, but they (Tony) let us arrive early Friday so we got one good day. same great attention to transients.s ------- Mem Day wkend 2023...we stayed once or twice last year but did not update the review. Charlie and his crew are awesome as ever! Changes: bathroom facilities trailer!- welcome addition. Good security. Previous stays we had always been on the north side of the yard, along the bridge road (very protected from winds but tight.) ..this time on the south side. Easy in/out but the fish pier was right across the way and ....we knew it all weekend.. beyond this, it's a great marina/shipyard. super impressive super yacht operations...and Belle's is great (go early). see you in a few months!!

Been to Newport many times but first staying at the Shipyard. Awesome experience and extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Charlie, the Dockmaster, is simply the best!. Can't wait to get back to Newport and stay at the Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard.

We stayed here for two days. Dockmaster Charlie and his dock staff were great. They are always ready to give a helping hand and share local knowledge about Newport. The office staff was also very welcoming and gave us some great recommendations for dinner. It's an easy 10 min walk to the heart of Newport. We will be back for sure.
