Nice place with great views of Verazzano Bridge and NYC skyline. Friendly yacht club staff. Lots of dining options on shore.

This is a great place to stop on your way down the shore. I originally booked one night but it turned into three. The showers are clean with endless hot water. Very little wake if you're in the mooring field. The local restaurants are really good too. I will definitely make this a stop when I head back north in the spring.

Well protected harbor, friendly, efficient launch service. Jimmy the launch driver was the best. Loved chatting with him.

Friendly staff, nice launch service and close to grocery, restaurants and hardware but expensive at $65/night

The launch operator was efficient but not as welcoming as we would have deserved after the high $65.00 fee.

As always the AHYC is the place to go. The club house has all the amenities. Easy to walk into town and responsive launch service. The mooring field is well protected by a nearly .5 nautical mile sea wall with exits at both ends. This meant that no matter how windy it was there was virtually no wave action except boats transiting. The western entrance to the protected harbor was well lit but a bit tight if you look at the chart. The eastern end was also well marked and was the way we came in and exited. The mooring lines were double bridles and well able to handle my 33' 10,000# boat. If you are looking for the idylic fishing village vibe with a responsive YC this is the place to overnight.

We had a wonderful stay in this protected mooring area at Atlantic Highlands. The launch service is excellent. Dinner at the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club was excellent. Walking the streets around the marina was relaxing, and beautiful, surrounded by wonderful old homes, all well kept . This safe and sheltered area boasts easy access to NYC, south shore of Long Island, and Sandy Hook. The launch service is excellent. Atlantic Highlands is a charming little town with beautiful walking areas.

We love staying here. We’ve been here many times over the years. The launch captains are wonderful and very helpful. The town is quite nice with many restaurants to choose from and there’s a beautiful walking trail along the bay. Great sunsets and you can see New York City in the distance. It’s a great place to stop between ocean travel and a trip up the Hudson. It’s our favorite place to visit.

Launch service was excellent. As well as the permission to check in to the mooring earlier than 2pm. The mooring ball marking was faded and hard to read (but launch driver gave good directions). The mooring lines had a lot of marine growth, but this was anticipated

Good solid mooring ball. Calm area.

Full dock lack of attention when filling let me over fill take resulting in leaking deisel. Morning ball rod was missing on our ball. Not so much an issue just others had the rod so did not bring the boat hook forward. Has to run and get it. On the positive side very nice place to stage for a transit up the east river or out to the ocean. Harbor master was very helpful. I would stay here again.

About Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club

Welcome to the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club!

Since its founding in 1953, the mission of the AHYC has been to attract and bring together dedicated individuals who share a mutual respect for the sea, and to encourage and advance all aspects of boating, yacht racing, and on-water activities, including offering a welcome and safe haven to yachtsmen and yachtswomen who visit the harbor.

Located within the protected Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, AHYC maintains the reputation of being a convenient and popular stopover for boaters - cruising or in transit - as we are close to Sandy Hook and New York Harbor. We offer secure moorings and launch service to transiting sailboats, up to 50' in length, from mid-May to early November.

Our facilities include the moorings and launch service and a second story club house with spectacular views of Sandy Hook Bay and the New York City skyline. All our mooring guests are invited to visit our club, meet our members, enjoy a meal and cocktail, and partake in the friendship that is the AHYC. The inviting bar is well stocked, and the galley offers varied food menus.

Shower and bathroom facilities are provided by the Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor, not the AHYC. Access keys are available from the Launch Drivers during normal operating hours. Check our website, www.ahyc.net, for the daily launch schedule.

Visitors should be aware that we can not accommodate power vessels of any length or sailboats greater than 50' in length on our moorings due to Atlantic Highlands Municipal Harbor policy; dock slips for these vessels may be obtained by contacting the harbor office on Ch 09. Dockwa reservations are for transient moorings only.
