It was great and the weather was wonderful. The pizza restaurant across the street is very good and convenient. There was even a super car show this weekend across the street in "olde town" Slidell.

This is a well-built and maintained marina located on a picturesque bayou with several restaurants and antique shops within easy walking distance. Great for a stay of a day or two.
Marina Response:
Thanks for the 5 star review!

Clean, well maintained, nice park and surroundings, floating docks, efficient power-no flickering, short walk to restaurants and shops. Woold never know location is largely barge turning basin for one of largest creosote plants in US when I lived here 1971-7-Superfund clean up site and they did a great job !
Marina Response:
Thanks for the 5 star review! With help from the EPA and Louisiana DEQ, the city was able to turn a super fund site into a first class public park.

The town of Slidell did such a great job on the construction of the new marina. Walked over to Gallagher‘s steakhouse for a great meal. Highly recommend this getaway.

Marina is four stars and could be 5. The worse part is getting there and back. Slidell and Lake Pontchartrain is being held hostage by erratic (nicest word I have for them) Bridge Tenders. Both, coming into the lake and leaving I was held up at the CSX Rigolets Pass Train Bridge by the Bridge Tender. First, for 45 minutes and leaving for two hours. Upon leaving, on July 5, I started calling him on the radio and cell phone an hour out to make sure he was there and I could get thru. No answer. His voice mail box was also full. I tried every number I could find on the net. No response to my calls or radio transmissions. I sat infant of bridge and called. No response. I contacted another Bridge Tender down the way who called and finally got thru to Rigolets. He claimed he'd been there all the time. After lot of time and gas spent waiting for that guy. No apology. With the only two other bridges closed for repairs by CSX, the Rigolet's is the only way in or out and they're holding Slidell and the whole of Lake Pontchartrain hostage! The other Bridge Tender who was AWOL the same morning is the one at the Bayou Bonfouca Bridge. I left toward the bride and began calling on both radio and cell phone. No answer. I called all the numbers I could find until I reached someone in the state office who located him and told me he would return to open for me but she could not tell me how long. After a half hour, his excuse was he was at Liberty Marina because they had air conditioning. In conclusion, I didn't give Slidell Municipal Marina at Heritage Park a 5 star rating because their pump out equipment didn't work or were locked and I got no response when I tried to inquire about them. I loved the marina and park close to a grocery store and Old Town Slidell. Met wonderful locals while there and had very good meals at Palmetto's on the Bay Restaurant (nice ambiance), good hamburgers at Times Grill, a restaurant attached to the Amtrak train station which was really convenient because I could comfortably get into New Orleans in about an hour for $5-13. Also, Whiskey and Ashe an intimate, friendly and comfortable cigar bar in old town. I want to thank Bill who met me at the dock (not what they ordinarily do) because I was running solo and had no real idea of their docks. However, the water is so smooth and docking easy I really did not need help but Bill's help and local knowledge was a great. Thanks again. In short, I do not recommend going into Lake Pontchartrain or up Bayou Bonfucha to the marina until they give the bridge tender ac or the boot. Be warned, don't try entering or exiting the Pontchartrain, if you need the CSX bridge tender to be on duty. You may become a hostage!
Marina Response:
Thanks for your response and rating. The CSX Rigolets Bridge is the Bain of Every Lake Pontchartrain boater! We have tried for years to make them responsive to no avail. As for the Bonfouca bridge, they are usually really responsive. Not sure what happened in your experience. We have an electrician looking into the pump out service.

Great place to stay for a night. Very accommodating, even though the marina was full for July 4 weekend celebration.

Stay was excellent. I met several boaters docked in nearby slips. Very courteous and accommodating environment. The Slidell heritage festival was going on and the park attendants were very courteous to our needs, even with all the festivities.
Marina Response:
We try our best during Heritage Fest! It’s about the only time that every slip get booked. Hurry back soon. See you on the water!

Our stay was wonderful. The area was clean, and the bayou are was beautiful. My only issue was other guest that basically cursed us out because we were in there "spot". We were assigned dock space by the harbor master. We love the city, and will definitely be back.
Marina Response:
Sorry for the spacing issues. Welcome back and hope to see you again soon. See ya on the water!

Quiet place. Pretty far up the Bayou and you wonder if you have enough draft but you do. We draw 4.5ft. One short area had depth around 5ft on our gauge but rest of the way was 8-11ft. No tides or current, Newer docks. Clean. Very good restaurants to walk to. It's part of a city park so has restrooms. We enjoyed our stay!
Marina Response:
Thanks for the 5 star review and welcome back

This is a wonderful floating dock facility on a beautiful tree lined bayou, adjacent to a well maintained part within walking distance of several restaurants (with curbside food service during these COVID-19 months). The marina facilities are well maintained by the City and the City personnel, if you aver need to contact them, are professional and could not be nicer. The rates are very reasonable. The definition of a five star cruising destination.
Marina Response:
Captain Thanks for the 5 star review

Thanks for the positive feedback. We got the pump out working. An electrical switch went out.

Parking - The parking lot was over-crowded with boat trailers and cars parked ill-legally in the spaces for the truck and trailer parking, which caused an incident in the parking lot as I was leaving to pick up my boat from the water. i feel there should be more control over the parking for paying customers that have reserved a boat slip at the park for special events. i launch from the park on most of my boat trips and have not had a problem. However, special events parking is out of control. I would suggest updating the marking in the parking lot to specify for Truck & Trailer parking Only. There were also issues with parking of the boats in the reserved boat slip area. Boats were parked ill-legally and tied to each other. The Councilman at Large caught Hell trying to control the boat parking. I feel that we have many citizens who have no consideration for the Law. Please take my comments seriously. I love my community and want to see improvements. Daniel Laurant

Great facility, very welcoming and like new facilities and no one here. The beautiful six mile ride from the lake is great and well worth the ride the bridge tender is very nice as well. There is no reason not to come.

Excellent dock and quick service by Dockwa. Downside: loud people with a lot of profanity and the n-word at the bench at the end of the dock from 2100-2145. Was planning on calling the cops if they stayed past 2200, park closing time, but the rain encourages them to leave.
