It was fun to be in the middle of this historic harbor (we had an inner harbor mooring). Lots of comings and goings, from commercial fishing boats to schooners, but no wake. Launch operators couldn’t have been nicer.

We had a wonderful stay in Gloucester’s inner harbor. We were already familiar with the harbor, so the real treat for us was the friendly, extremely accommodating staff of the Gloucester Harbor Master. They could not have been more helpful. We also loved the new Mariners Lounge with A/C and clean bathrooms and showers. Cannot recommend this stop more; we will definitely be back!

It was a good stay. Gloucester is a historic town that has many small town charms. I came here to visit the Sandbars and ate freshest seafood like lobsters and steamers. If you need assistance finding your mooring, call the Harbormaster on Channel 14.

Moorings are well marked and easy to pick up. Having an inner harbor mooring was so convenient to take our inflatable into town and to watch the festivities during Fiesta! Highly recommend.

Charming working harbor with great restaurants and fresh fish available close to where launch drops you off. 24 hour showers are good and clean.
Very efficient service through Dockwa and friendly and helpful harbormaster. He made sure we could get into Mariners' Lounge before he left for the night.
Launch runs late enough to allow you to have dinner and get back to boat.

The first night was perfect.
The second they made move for the fireworks but it all worked out with the support of the Gloucester Harbormasters.
Great weekend As usual the Gloucester Harbormaster came through again finding me a last minute mooring so I didn’t have to sail back at night in a fog bank thank you guy’s

Interesting harbour with the fishing boats and processing plant. The harbor master was very helpful. The toilet and shower facilities were the best of our 5 day trip between Boston and Boothbay Harbor. Will stay again.
About Gloucester Harbormaster
The City of Gloucester, through the harbormaster's office, rents 30 transient / visitor moorings for vessels up to 60 feet. They are located in the following three areas:
-The Inner Harbor, where the day-to-day hustle and bustle of a working waterfront can be enjoyed, is in close proximity to downtown shops and restaurants.
-The Southeast Harbor offers views of the mansions of Eastern Point, sunsets over the Western Harbor and the Boston skyline in the distance.
-The Western Harbor, off of Stage Head, is where the original settlers landed and dried fish. The harbor offers a beautiful view of downtown church steeples and the City Hall tower.
The Gloucester Harbor Launch is free of charge with your reservation and can be contacted on VHF channel 72 or by phone - 978-726-0155
