Beautiful views from the dock and restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The Dolphin Restaurant and Marina continues to set the bar high for excellence in service! They have accommodated a large group several times, and made it look easy!We had 8 boats and about 20 people on the dock and moorings for dinner and overnight and all had a good time! Of course the coffee and muffins delivered to the boat in the morning my delightful staff is always a special treat!! We will continue to be season regulars! SV BellatriX

Gorgeous spot. Would have given it a five star rating except the Wi-Fi connection they advertised did not work and they had no ice for sale on one of the hottest days of the year.

Great service. Helped us locate a mooring close to the dock. Very efficient launch service. Driver Brendan was exceptionally helpful. Delicious food ashore at the Dolphin Restaurant. Good, hot showers. Great coffee and blueberry muffins (free) delivered to the boat by Brendan. Highly recommended. Only complaint is the Marina was very busy yesterday making it rolly. However, excellent for business!!!

The Dolphin is always great. We enjoyed our dinner and especially the blueberry muffins brought out to the boat in the morning.

We stayed on a slip at Dolphin Marine last night. The dock crew were especially friendly and helpful. This morning Lexi was on hand delivering blueberry muffins and steaming hot coffee. What a wonderful crew with thoughtful touches and friendly faces. Dinner last night was well timed , creative, tasty best stop in Casco bay. Returning for a mooring on a very busy labor day weekend it has fascinating to listen to the crew at the Dolphin handle nervous boaters looking for slips, moorings and meals. Grace and hospitality was the order of the day and everyone was accommodated. Food was superb and we were seated promptly on arrival at 5. It’s always good to see the Saxton family on hand enjoying their creation and all the friends they have accumulated. I will be back soon.

Launch service was great

Such a great place to stay! We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant and then were greeted with their famous blueberry muffins and coffee that were delivered to the boat this morning. What a treat!!!

The Dolphin operates a restaurant & marina . . . but fully understands they're also in the hospitality business!

This is one of our favorite Marinas in Maine. It also has a wonderful restaurant on premises, but the real treat are the outstanding dock assistants and the fresh blueberry muffins that are delivered to your boat every morning.

The team was very accommodating helping us with gas and dockage even in light of the downpour. We were able to enjoy a great meal even though the weather wasn't cooperative for our stay.

I love the location, the restaurant and people. I was very surprised this year the mooring fee has been hiked to $80. We come for dinner and spend the night. So cocktails and dinner is very pricey considering the mooring fee. Other folks come for dinner, tie up at the deck free of charge and leave after dinner and pay nothing for dockage. Where is the equity?.

This harbor and the team that runs the marina and restaurant is as ideal as any I've ever stayed at. Beautiful surroundings, kind cheerful attentive staff, immaculate facilities and a GREAT restaurant. Easy to get in and out when on a trip east or west along the Maine coast, we only stayed for one short night which was a mistake. You could day-sail a lot of Casco Bay from here. They are dog friendly (many are not in Maine) provided pets (and owners!) behave themselves. We will be back.

Such a beautiful view from this marina and we loved the morning hospitality of coffee and blueberry muffins brought to our boat by boat : ). This is our first visit to Maine with our boat and the dolphin marina was our first overnight stay on our boat. Dinner was fabulous at the Dolphin Restaurant. We liked the marina so much we stayed a second night! Thank you for a lovely visit!

We’ve been coming to the marina and restaurant for a number of years and there is not a single place on our travels that exceeds the customer service, amenities, spectacular views and the wonderful restaurant food. The only “downside” (and there is nothing the marina can do about it) is that the marina is a bit exposed from the south and there are some wake issues as inconsiderate boaters speed into the harbor trying to get an available dock spot for lunch. Still, the “show” from the back deck of our trawler on the mooring field was great and provided several hours a day of entertainment. The entire staff was professional, helpful and were obviously glad to have us there. These guys know how to do it right! And yes, the fish chowder is the best in the universe!

The restaurant is great but the prices are a bit steep. The boathouse facilities are in good condition. The wi-fi as well as wireless are weak at this marina. To take advantage of the wi-fi you need to either be in a slip or possibly the row of moorings just off the face dock.

Been stopping at Dolphin for 13 years. Staff is super accommodating and friendly. Of course the blueberry muffins are the best . The views from the restaurant are spectacular and the food is outstanding .

Simply the best Marina experience we have ever encountered cruising the Bahamas and east coast. The facilities are top notch, but the staff is truly what makes Dolphin incredible. The team truly wants you to have a great experience before arrival, during your stay and after your departure.

The moorings were great and convenient to shore. Dinner at the restaurant was terrific. This marina/restaurant is a favorite destinations when cruising. Always enjoy the best blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to your boat each morning.

Friendly staff, available moorings and slips. Temporary docking for the restaurant. Great food at the restaurant. Also have boatlift and some off-season storage, but minimal repair services.

This is a restaurant with a dock. There is a mooring field without No Wake markers and many boats sped through the field. There was no ice available and fuel was the most expensive we saw after 8 days in Maine. They cannot provide a receipt for fuel and can only text the total amount, no price or quantity. There is limited cell service which is beyond their control but the WiFi was so weak we could not get a signal on their dock.

Our server (Kate) was extremely busy and still made us feel like we were her only customer providing excellent service! Mimi and Chris were on hand to to take drink orders and deliver apps. The following morning staff delivered the dolphin's signature blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to our boat! The Saxton family & their staff provide excellent customer service with an amazing view of Potts Harbor ⚓️

Our stay surpassed our expectations. The facility, restaurant and staff were outstanding. They delivered complimentary coffee and their signature homemade blueberry muffins to us on the mooring!

Dolphin Marina is very well run by a competent and friendly staff. The docks and facilities in general are in excellent shape. The restaurant is very good and also staffed with really nice people. The complimentary blue berry muffins and coffee delivered to the boat first thing in the morning are the frosting on the cake. This a favorite stop once or twice a summer.

This was our seventh visit to Dolphin Marina. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. They delivered coffee and freshly baked muffins in the AM! One of our favorite stops on our annual Maine cruise!

The Dockwa app told us our reservation was not accepted because the marina was full. Dolphin Marina staff, offered an alternative mooring on their harbor float, and discounted our stay 50%. The coffee and blueberry muffins delivered to our boat in the morning was a nice touch, something I have never experienced at any other marina.

Excellent food, service, and ambiance. The dockhands are professional and thoughtful in their service. We just find this spot a true gem and highly rate this marina and restaurant.

Second time we stayed, the area is beautiful. Second time we have stayed here.first time was four years ago.Again there was no water on the dock to use for water tanks or to wash off the boat. Dock hands were helpful. Owner didn’t seem to care about the boaters as much as his restaurant. There are other nice marinas in the area we will stay at next time. They should post in big print No Water Available. On DocWa / Marinas page so people know!

We’ve stopped here many times. The only time it was less than perfect was during the pandemic when they were shorthanded. They’re back up to speed and perfect once again. This is a don’t-miss-it marina.

There is alot of hype about this Marina so maybe I set unrealistic expectations. Pretty basic marina with a good restaurant. Nothing much within walking distance. We moved on after 1 night. They didn't even have water on the dock. They said I could fill up by carrying jugs of water from the restaurant if I supplied the jugs..

Just spent another wonderful evening at the Dolphin. Dock hands were all super friendly and helpful - from helping us into our slip on arrival to bringing blueberry muffins and coffee in the morning. Not sure what the negative review is all about - we frequent the Dolphin regularly and have always received outstanding service.

We spent the last night of our three week cruise at the Dolphin Marina. Not only was our mooring reservation made easily but the dock crew picked up the mooring pennant and handed it to my wife as we came in. The launch service was quick and comfortable and the food was fantastic. There was a mussel marinara special which was one of the best I have ever had. The delivery of coffee and blueberry muffins in the morning is a wonderful and greatly appreciated touch. We will be back.

Well maintained marina. Jared who was working the docks was very helpful. The showers were clean and adequate. WiFi worked well. Dolphin Restaurant is one of the very best on the coast and was the highlight of the visit.

By and large a lovely stay. Two suggestions for improvement: One of the things we had heard was that overnight mooring patrons receive complementary coffee and blueberry muffins in the morning. I wanted to confirm but the message I got back via the Dockwa chat indicated that the sender wasn't sure. It was as if the marina and the restaurant were two distinct entities that didn't communicate. So, we packed our own. Sure enough, a friendly dockhand delivered the coffee and muffins just after 8:00. And they were delicious. The other item was the timing of when launch service stops. 6:00 p.m. (this was Saturday of Labor Day weekend 2022) We would have eaten in the restaurant but felt we would be rushed through our dinner. So because of their early end of launch service, we bought lobster rolls from Erica's next door to take back to our mooring. Seems like the labor charge for extending the launch service two hours would easily have been offset by the profit gained by allowing mooring customers to eat dinner beyond 6:00. But we'll be back. We had a very god experience with the dock hands and the facilities in the dock house.

Frequented Dolphin multiple times per season over the past 5 years. Always left rave reviews. Unfortunately, that end after last night. As a boater, there really is no draw. They wont take reservations for parties less than six and still only take a limited number. Now they are "seating" the bar so can't sit and have a drink and apps while waiting for a table. You can get a drink at a "take out" window and sit outside in the cold while you wait. Last thing I wanted after a cold sail over. As we were "escorted" from the bar by the owner's DIL, I asked her what the draw is as a boater. She said beautiful views and proceeded to berate us all the way to the door. I can drop anchor around the corner and get the views without paying for a dock or mooring. Would have absolutely left after that humiliating encounter had friends not been meeting us. Dolphin was always my favorite stop and go to place when we had guests. Sadly, we will not be back.

This is an edit to a previous review. I received a call from Chris at Dolphin responding to my previous review, I appreciate his quick follow up and offer to provide a refund. Dolphin’s Dock attendants are very helpful and courteous, they assisted us with docking and tried to resolve a problem our shore power and we appreciated their efforts. Dinner at the restaurant was very good.

Beautiful marina with good restaurant, lovely shower, and complimentary muffins/coffee delivered to the boat at 8 am by a friendly launch (on a day when marina was closed for staff appreciation!). We will be back—So nice.

Simple process to pick up mooring. Dinner at the restaurant was very good and great service. Launch drivers were very friendly. Special kudos to Tyler who brought us free coffee and blueberry muffins just before we left our mooring in the morning.

While the Marina dockhands were very accompanying and friendly, the restaurant (while being of the same operations) was not. No take out was allowed for us even though we were slipping overnight at the Marina. We have an old dog who can’t get off the boat and can’t be left alone and it seems no accommodations were made for having only 2 people. Highly disappointed in a business like that. There’s just no excuse! So what’s their policy on mobility challenged human? We also needed an emergency diver at the Marina due to possible damage to our prop from a lobster pot but the diver didn’t have a mask so they could not help us (!?) it clearly states on their brochure “emergency diver services”……Just too much to many big errors for a excellent rating! Other than that the dockhands were great.

The dock service was excellent, first class. Brandon was really great, made us feel right at home. Hot coffee and signature blueberry muffins delivered in the cockpit are awesome. The Dolphin Restaurant has great food and a view of the sunset that is beyond belief.

Dolphin marina is a first rate establishment. On weekends they have become a victim of there own sucess. That the reason for 4 stars. Getting a table at the resturant or even a mooring has become a bit of a chalenge. On the plus side you can't beat coffee and muffins in the morning. Coffee's actually good.

Friendly, welcoming staff, excellent facilities and on-site restaurant. Only very minor negative - it’s a busy place with lots of boats leaving and exiting the marina (due to the restaurant).

A must stop and stay a few days. Lots of trail to hike or bike along with some great places to explore in your tender. This will be an annual stop for us. We woke up this morning in Boothbay and asked the Dockmaster where the blueberry muffins were and he just smiled as said there is no place like the Dolphin Marina and Restaurant.

Dolphin Marina never disappoints! Beautiful location, easy to get to, super friendly staff, free laundry, and two restaurants right there. Plus, they deliver blueberry muffins and coffee right to the boat in the morning! Weekend afternoons can be a bit busy because of restaurant traffic but it’s not a huge issue.

Friendly, responsive staff. Good restaurant, and the coffee and muffins for breakfast, brought out to us, are a really nice touch. For other novices like me, the pole next to the mooring is for you to lift the line. No hook needed!

We arrived and were greeted by the crew before we even hit the dock. Took on fuel and proceeded to our slip with expert assistance. Spent a wonderful afternoon and evening with our neighbors before having a nice dinner at the restaurant. Awoke to coffee and blueberry muffins dockside, a very nice touch. It was an enjoyable weekend at the Dolphin.

The reason we keep returning to the Dolphin is the people. Sure, they have a beautiful location, great docking/moorings and all the support amenities, but it’s the friendly and knowledgeable service of Chris, his mom, restaurant folks and the dock crew that makes the Dolphin special. Plus, it’s hard to beat waking up to coffee & blueberry muffins being delivered to your boat! And, they value and treat their staff well as evidenced by the recent staff appreciation day. Nice experience. Picked up a big 3# lobster (only $8/#) at Ericas lobsters for dinner, then were greeted at our mooring with coffee and blueberry muffins the next morning. Nothing to complain about!

The customer service at Dolphin is excellent and is the standard by which all marinas should be measured. Once again it was an amazing stay.

Absolutely the best marina experience I’ve ever had. There is nothing special about the docks or facilities, but the staff is awesome. It starts with docking. Three attendants literally stand at attention as you approach the dock and then happily and efficiently get you in to your slip and tied set up. They are genuinely happy and thankful for your visit. The dock master stops by to make sure you have everything you need and thank you for visiting. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, but gives priority to marina guests, so the wait is minimal and the food is worth a much longer wait. While at dinner, one of the owners took the time to track us down and welcome us to the marina and chat about our travels. All marinas should operate this way!

I think they should probably change the name to “Dolphin Restaurant and Marina” because the priority here seems to have shifted more towards the restaurant than to visiting yachts staying overnight. They don’t provide water for boats anymore because there’s not enough water in the well, yet they can run a restaurant 10 hours a day. The marina closes at 5:00 so if you arrive after that, you’re on your own figuring out where to go. The Dockwa confirmation for moorings doesn’t assign a mooring #. The restaurant did away with priority seating for marina guests, there are no reservations for parties under 6 and because the restaurant is so popular now, you’ll wait an hour or more to be seated for dinner any day of the week in season. Yes, blueberry muffins are still abundant here and they still come around in the morning with coffee and muffins, but it’s not what it used to be for visiting boats.

Great location, attentive staff, restrooms and showers were first rate. Restaurant has great view and good food. Morning coffee and Blueberry muffins delivered to the mooring was definitely a plus, Marina provided a complimentary vehicle and directions to pick up supplies at a local convenience store. We will definitely be back when in Maine.

Friendly service free muffins

Over decades the meals and service have been magnificent which is testimony to a remarkable family.

Stayed here two nights to get out of the weather. Owner met us when we came in and helped us tie up. Very professional. Docs are very new and in good shape. Restaurant has outstanding food and in the morning they bring coffee and blueberry muffins to you boat even if you’re on a mooring. Even their fuel is reasonably priced. Wonderful family owned business. Would have given it six stars if that was an option.

Unbelievably good blueberry muffins delivered to boat in am 8-9. Worth delaying any leaving for the muffins. Plus Maine. Offshore either Haze or Fog early in am! Great place to start a Maine trip if need get beyond Portland …. on way back from mine had to skip Dolphin Unfortunately due to pending weather --sure miss those muffins and that restaurant!! Second time this happened at end of our Maine trips!

We’re new to this whole traveling by boat thing. The Dolphin is a quality outfit and the staff is always helpful and really pleasant. There isn’t a more beautiful place to watch the sun rise or set.

Best run marina in the region by far! The entire crew are so well trained it shows intermediately. Docks are super clean and everything works, restaurant delicious food, great vista and surroundings. Chris and his team do not disappoint! Terrific stay and we will be back!

Rates and policies have changed. Rates went up and no boats allowed over 50feet. Disappointing because this was a favorite....

Procedures have changed. No mooring assignment just pick up any free mooring. Checkin building closed. No info given Re: WiFi and available facilities. Launch service stops at 5 pm. No seating preference given to marina clients. Complimentary blueberry muffins are still delivered to people on moorings which is a Dolphin signature amenity.Otherwise a totally different vibe to this marina presumably due to staffing shortages.

Fantastic dock crew, courteous and professional restaurant service, incredibly good food, beautifully maintained floating docks in a pristine environment! Really could go on for hours, but you’ll just have to come and see the place for yourself.

Easy access - and good mooring balls - lots of boaters in the area enjoying a beautiful day. We enjoyed a meal at the Dolphin restaurant while we were there. Must say the Blueberry muffins were a nice touch and a welcome treat!

The staff at the marina and restaurant have been amazing, friendly, helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the fact we could have our dog with us instead of leaving him at the boat or in a car was Fantastic. The view is breathtaking. The coffee and muffins the staff brought out to the boaters was a nice surprise. I could not have asked for a better experience. It’s been great.

Wonderful experience. Gorgeous location. Staff are superb, very customer oriented. Marina Restaurant is superb and has the best fish chowder and blueberry muffins. Each morning they deliver to your boat those amazing muffins and coffee. If could give more than 5 stars, I would do that.

The crew were wonderful. Great dock hands. Our Outboard was acting up. Nick offered to take a look at it between serving blue berry muffins and driving the launch. He fixed our outboard. Turns out he races dighnys and is very good with outboards. At night, he was serving drinks in the bar with Jack. We were well taken care of by everyone at the Marina and Restaurant. Chris and his family run a friendly and attentive Marina. We will be back!

This was a beautiful location, gave us an inside slip, dock employees friendly and helpful. Nice shower/restroom facility, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the restaurant. No water available on docks. The launch driver came around in the morning with coffee and blueberry muffins!

First rate. Tight docking but Dock hands were great. Nick went above and beyond to be helpful. I watched him help another boater with the outboard. Repairing it on the spot.

Wonderful marina with extremely friendly and caring staff. Launch driver comes by to welcome you and provide information upon arrival, and again in the morning to offer coffee and blueberry muffins. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, with attentive service and fantastic view over the harbor. Will be back!

The staff were polite, and very helpful during our stay. The only problem we had was we were unable to get the pumpout to work. We are moving on to hopefully find a working pumpout station. Thank you to all the staff at Dolphin Marina.

Great stay. We were thankful to be on a dock and not at anchor as we had a big storm come through. We woke up to waves and wind rolling everybody around, but felt secure the whole time. The dockhands and restaurant workers are all top notch! The grounds and facilities are well maintained. Sketchy wifi and minimal cell coverage if you have to work, but it was manageable. Thanks for a great stay!

All was excellent as usual. One disappointment was that there was no one to hand us the mooring pennant as in the past. Not an issue at all. It’s just something we tell all our friends about. I understand things change. This is not a negative against this first class Marina.

Dolphin Marina and Restaurant is one of those rare places that does everything well! Without exception the dockhands, waiters, bartenders, ALL work hard, know their jobs, and are polite and friendly. They are consistently aware and reacting to help without being asked. Chris and the rest of the Saxton family somehow manage to have a staff, year after year, that is top notch. They should write a book about hiring, training, and supervising people. Beyond that, the location, view, food, and of course!... the blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to your boat every day at both moorings and docks!.... are all wonderful! Our time in Maine always starts and ends with a few days at Dolphin Marina! UPDATE: We missed last year due to the pandemic. My review is still accurate and we enjoyed our stay as much a ever! Two nights dining outside at the Restaurant included Lobster Stew (chock full of lobster), Calamari, Seafood Risotto, and other wonderful entrees served creatively with perfectly paired spices and creative vegetables. And, of course, Blueberry muffins!

Quiet, peaceful cove. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. the marina is beautifully situated. Amenities very well maintained. Dog friendly. Restaurant was a 5 star alone. Waterfront dining outside overlooking marina & bay. Interesting & varied menu. Including kids menu. Definitely recommend the bruschetta appetizer. Grilled scallops & vegetables with homemade pasta was fantastic! A signature morning welcome are the fresh blueberry muffins & coffee to start your day! Highly recommend this gem!

We stayed in a slip which was very reasonably priced. The dock crew is very well trained, very helpful, and friendly. The floats and facilities are well maintained. The fuel dock is a long face dock which should be easy to access although I didn’t need fuel on this visit. I did, however, need a diver and apparently most of the dock crew can perform that function. Finally, the Dolphin Restaurant is terrific and only 100 yards or so from the slips. Launch service is provided for those who prefer moorings. This is a wonderful stop in settled weather.

Beautiful and scenic location with lots of little islands and beaches. On Sunday as we were l. The mooring riding out a summer storm we were treated to the annual Harpswell lobster boat races. What a great. And you can’t beat the coffee and muffin service that the launch provided in the morning.

The owners and employees were super nice and helpful in whatever you wanted. Dinner was outstanding served by people who care that you are there. A multigenerational family enterprise that exudes confidence, trust and goodwill. Not to be missed.

we have never been there before, tried several times last year and was unable to get there due to covid and then weather but we finally did and it was a great time. the weather again was not great but we still had a great time. thank you for our visit with you guys.

So much fun coming into the mooring and getting to dine at the Dolphin. We loved sitting outside at the picnic table then getting to walk our dog around the peninsula. The place was run to a tee. The dock workers Nick and Jack were outstanding. So kind and helpful. The bathrooms and shower where so clean and No cheap toilet paper. That to me is a plus. The restaurant was fantastic, we ordered and our food was out to us within fifteen minutes. The restaurant is run so well. We got right in both times and the food is outstanding. We got served blueberry muffins and coffee right at the boat each morning. Now thats so kind of them. Hats off to the owners they know what they are doing.. A GREAT JOB!!!!!

Dolphin Marina is a great place to stop. Lots of amenities inc. fuel, self pump out station, great shower, laundry, 2 restaurants-one is inexpensive takeout style and the other a nice full service. They offer free use of bicycles and kayaks. The excellent staff are very helpful and very conscious of social distancing during this covid time. Only thing lacking is a grocery store but in normal times they offer a courtesy car to get to the store a few miles up the neck. The complimentary blueberry muffins and coffee delivered to the boat each morning are a lovely extra.

Fantastic facilities. Dock attendants literately "ran" to help us whenever we pulled in to the dock. Abundant space for every vessel with extra wide berths. Highly recommend.

The boat and restaurant staff were delightful and most helpfu throughout our stay. We spent two nights there and wished we had more time. The best calamari we’ve ever had, not to mention the haddock and scallops! We were on a mooring and they delivered fresh muffins and hot coffee to our boat each morning. How could the service and amenities get any better. We met Mimi and that in itself confirmed why the staff is so gracious. Can’t wait for our next trip back!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Dolphin. We were at the dock for nearly 2 weeks and every day there was a wonderful experience. All hands were on deck as we arrived to assist with lines and the dock hands there all actually know what they are doing which is rare! Having complimentary coffee delivered to the boat in the morning is the most lovely way to start off the day. The owner Chris is INCREDIBLE and helped us whenever he needed assistance or had any questions. They gave us maps and showed up where to ride bikes and great places to take the dinghy to so there was plenty to keep us busy and happy there even for a long stay. Could not recommend this marina enough. Favorite marina we have been to while cruising all summer without a doubt. Do not miss this marina as you cruise through Maine. Thanks for everything guys!

Your dock crew as always was very professional, pleasant and courteous. They make it very easy to spend time at your facility and set a very high standard. As always, the restaurant was excellent--even in the face of the COVID 19 difficulties. Neither the service nor the quality of the meal suffered at all as far as we could tell. Thank you as always.

Beautiful location, very reasonably priced mooring and a fabulous restaurant. I would rate the meals as 5 stars. The laundry, shower and rest rooms were pristine. Solid mahogany counter tops at the restroom sinks!!! I highly recommend this marina.

Maybe it was the luck of the draw but it was so calm it was barely noticeable that you were on a boat on a mooring. Plus at 8:30 the next morning the launch came by with coffee and blueberry muffins!

These people really know how to make a boater feel welcome and they've even improved their already great facilities.

The adjacent restaurant is very busy, at least on a Sunday, and arriving and departing motorboats (and there were quite a few) seem to have two speeds - stopped and wide open - so expect them to drag wakes through the mooring field. Lobstermen I can understand, but if you’re heading for the bar, slow down! The shower, it’s worth noting, is newly renovated and very nice.

The Dolphin staff was so accommodating and friendly. From the restaurant to the Dockhands they were all so helpful. Elliot suggested some coves to explore in Casco bay that were worth every penny. The blueberry muffins at out mooring was so unique and special. Sadly the ships store was closed because of COVID, but they still had ice and showers!

We stayed on a mooring last week to ride out some bad weather. We were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was wonderful and was careful about COVID 19 contact. In the morning the marina crew delivered complimentary coffee and their world famous blueberry muffins to the boat. Couldn’t ask for a better experience after days on anchor.

Very easy to get in and out. Launch only runs til 7. Lots of wakes until sunset, and many lobster boats head out close by at 5 a.m. Store was closed, ate at restaurant; good service, ok food.

My hubby, kids and I live on our boat and have been to many marinas over the last few years. I can honestly say that the staff, accommodations and dining experience is some of the best I’ve experienced. It rivals with some of the 5 star resorts we’ve docked at. It all comes down to one thing. Family legacy. These guys truly care about everyone that steps foot into the Dolphin. Every guest has a view of the ocean from the restaurant. If you have kids, your kids can run wild on the large lawn while you dine outside near the water. If you are staying at the marina, the approach is simple, deep and straight forward. Honestly, it is a place I’d come back to every year. Thank you guys for the amazing experience!!

We have visited here several times before....this was not as good a visit and maybe Covid-19 had something to do with it...very busy, fair amount of confusion, juggling going on....we were told to come in to our slip but when we did the dock people seemed confused and not ready for us....then when we were finally settled in a slip we paid for, we were told they needed to move us to put a bigger boat in the space we were in...they wanted to move us not to another slip but to the end of the dock which was not acceptable ....finally we were moved to another slip and could finally settle in....This is a beautiful, popular spot but sometimes I think there can just be too much going on and it does make the dockhands job a little more difficult....they are all very friendly...only saw one of them lose it a little with a boat coming in. Will be back as we do still feel it is the prettiest, best little marina/restaurant on the coast of Maine.

7/12/20- Excellent Marina with staff that goes out of their way to accommodate you. Muffins and coffee delivered to the moorings is a nice way to wake up. Courtesy car available for trip to Hannaford’s for provisioning and free laundry just add to the great amenities that this marina offers. The food at the restaurant is also excellent. Our stay was great from the dock personnel handing the mooring pendant to my wife, Sarah, on the bow as we arrived, to a welcome shower in the bathhouse, through a wonderful dinner that evening, to a coffee delivery in the morning prior to departure. A couple of frustrations that were just bumps in the road; we were told the combination to the shower room but all the signs on the building said closed due to COVID. Not being people to ignore such messages a second trip to the float was required for reassurance that, yes, in fact, the showers are usable. Perhaps more clear direction could be given in this strange time. Second, our waiter at dinner advertised coffee and muffins delivered to moored boats at 8AM, but after delaying our departure for their eventual arrival at 0845, we were disappointed that there were, in fact, no muffins. As the specialty of Dolphin Marina as long as we have known you (since 1985), your blueberry muffins are not to be missed. Again, more clear communication would have helped a lot. Those are really minor items though and certainly do not tarnish a great stay on a mooring that was less expensive than what we paid the night before for no services at all. Thanks for a wonderfully memorable stay!!

Elliot, the dockmaster greeted us and got us into our slip right away. We ordered dinner from the restaurant, and had it delivered to the boat. The food was great, and the facilities are well kept. The coffee and blueberry muffins delivered to the boat in the morning was a nice touch. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to stay for a weekend.

Dolphin Marina never fails to offer 1st class service. Unlike other marinas, they're glad you're there, and genuinely want you to return.

If you haven't had their chowder and a glass of white wine in their scenic restaurant- then you're missing out! The Dolphin is a destination I've been recommending to my yachting clients for ages... A couple of my dearest friends spent their very first overnight on their boat at the Dolphin and it set them up for a successful cruising career! Even Oprah enjoyed herself!

Excellent place to stop! We spent an extra day there and it was wonderful, starting with the fresh coffee and blueberry muffins delivered to our boat, to the bikes they have available to use (and kayaks!). But the best part is the restaurant! Definitely plan to go and call ahead to reserve a time. It gets crowded! It is worth it for the lobster stew! We will definitely be returning. The only thing I would mention is it isn’t really in a “no wake” zone so you do get some wave action. Overall it was a great spot and we look forward to returning!!

The marina was very responsive when we called for directions as we approached Potts Harbor. We got great assistance from the dockhands when tying up. The heads, shower and laundry are up to date and in good condition. We enjoyed the bluheberry muffins and coffee delivered to the boat each morning. When we asked to extend for an extra night the staff was very accommodating and found space for us despite having several large boats coming in. The restaurant is quite popular and was very enjoyable. There’s also a lobster-in-the-rough stand with outdoor seating right next to the marina. We didn’t eat there but the prices seemed quite reasonable. Dolphin always makes for a good stop!

My wife and I have been cruising the US east coast for 30+ yrs - we can state without hesitation that the Dolphin Marina is the best marina we have ever visited. EVER!! Let’s dispense with some minor negatives mentioned by other boaters: 1) dock water is limited - they get fresh water from a well with restricted capacity. Come there with your water tanks full. They have a nice shower on shore. 2) the mooring field can be a bit rolly - lobster boats do go by, but this site is a quintessential part of the Maine cruising experience. Most of the time there is nothing to disturb the tranquility of the harbor. 3) Wi Fi access is limited and somewhat irregular - but if you are spending your time playing video games or streaming movies, you are missing the striking beauty of the place and the use of the Marina’s free kayaks and bicycles to explore the area. Now, for the almost innumerable pluses of the Dolphin: 1) you will not find a friendlier and more competent marina staff anywhere. From the moment you make your marina reservation to the minute you leave, the staff will be doing everything possible to make your visit truly memorable. They will give you precise approach instructions, their launch will guide you to your slip or mooring, they will hand deliver your mooring tether to you, they will ferry you back and forth to your boat on a moments notice, they will deliver free hot coffee and freshly baked blueberry muffins to your boat each morning. Also you can use their free courtesy car to reprovision, you can do your laundry using their free washer/dryer, and you get priority seating at their on-site restaurant. 2) the marina and restaurant are family owned and operated - no big marina chain rules and regs to deal with. Owner-manager, Chris Saxton, is a 24/7 all over, everywhere presence. Great service. Great scenery. Great food.

The Dolphin cane very highly recommended by good friends. We were celebrating a 60th birthday and thought it would be great to stay at a 5 star marina. The blueberry muffins are great, but the mooring field is pretty choppy. Even the marina launch drives through the morning field creating a wake. There is complementary shower and laundry facility. We did use the washer and dryer but not the shower because there’s only one and there was a 5 person line when we wanted to shower. We would have liked to fuel up, get water and a pumpout before we left, but they limit each boat to 5-10 gallons (just enough to cover 2 showers for 2 people) so we didn’t bother with the fuel and water. We did use the manual pumpout dock. It’s pretty small for a 39’ sailboat to dock on, so we were grateful that a friend offered to dinghy over to assist. I doubt we’ll be back. We did dine in the restaurant as part of our birthday celebration and I would probably wouldn’t go back there either. Six of us had dinner, but it took over 5 min for the 6th person’s meal to arrive. So the rest of us just sat there and let our food get cold while we waited. The food itself was okay, but not as special as other reviews have stated.

Wonderful job of welcoming and taking care of cruisers. Coffee and Maine blueberry muffins out to the boat was a treat.

Their is nobody better than the Dolphin, it has it all.

Lovely facilities and well kept except they have only one shower (it’s wonderful) and only 1 washer/dryer (it’s free!). It’s a busy Marina so this is not adequate. Also be prepared...it is a lumpy/rolly place...the lobster boats have no problem throwing a big wake early in the morning. They do bring fresh blueberry muffins and coffee to your boat every morning and the muffins are truly special! There just isn’t much near Harpswell to do but it is a lovely property.

This is N47 Mari Mi’s second season cruising Maine and one of our most enjoyable stops is the Dolphin Marina and Restaurant. This family owned and operated marina and restaurant is tucked in Pott’s Harbor, just “downeast” of Portland. The natural beauty, the great customer service, the amazing “dock-delivered” blueberry muffins, and one of the top restaurants in Maine, makes Dolphin a must stop. There are a number of bike and walking trails nearby, dinghy excursions to Eagle Island State Park and surrounding islands, and a free courtesy car to run into town for supplies. Bikes and laundry are free!

Great location, great service. Only drawback is they were low on water in their well and had we could not hook up to their water other than to fill our holding tank.

Great spot for a day visit or an overnight stop. Have been coming here for years and have always been impressed by the staff, facilities, and food - and on top of that it always seems to be improving! Hot coffee and fresh blueberry muffins delivered to your mooring every morning - what's not to like? Highly recommended.

Fantastic marina. Fantastic staff. Went for our first time and returned 5 days later because it was so pleasant. Plus, they opened the bar area early so we could watch USA win World Cup!! Great experience all round.

Dolphin Marina is one of a kind. Everyone who works there is helpful and nice. They have kayaks and bikes for your use, and the bathrooms and shower are lovely. Coffee and blueberry muffins to the boat in the morning seals the deal. Not to mention one of the best restaurants around. Our favorite marina by far!

By far the best marina on the Maine coast and perhaps the east cost. They certainly deserve the #1 Marina rating award they received and will probably receive it again this year

Well, it’s been 4 months since we last set foot in a marina. There’s nothing wrong with them and plenty of cruisers hop from marina to marina enjoying the many amenities they offer; but we have found them to be mostly disappointing… until now. Dolphin Marina is exceptionally well run with an unmistakable emphasis on customer service! We loved the marina, loved the staff, loved the restaurant, we highly recommend it and will stay with them again next time we head north. It started with the great followup on my original phone inquiry, then we show up and a launch comes out to pick up and hand you the mooring pennant… hand you the mooring pennant! As if that’s not enough, then they come around every morning to your boat with complimentary coffee & blueberry muffins! We used the courtesy vehicle to go into Brunswick to re-provision, we did laundry and in between loads, enjoyed exceptional calamari & cocktails overlooking Potts Harbor! Needless to say, we stayed longer than we had intended, enjoying the views, their hospitality and the lobster! Let’s not forget the lobster! Carlos & Maria S/V Rocinante

One of our favorite marinas. They have complementary bikes and kayaks, a courtesy car, amazing shower with shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion. Amazingly friendly staff. And the restaurant is top notch!

This marina exceeded our expectations. The dock hands were very attentive and friendly. Dock hand by day, bar back at night. The owners are on site assisting customers both at the marina and in the restaurant. The restaurant was busy for a Sunday night but boaters receive priority seating. We did not take advantage of the kayaks or bikes that are available due to time constraints but we sure did enjoy the blueberry muffins that was delivered right to our boat in the morning. We will definetly return.

Very friendly and helpful crew. They come right out and show you to your mooring, and even hand you the pennant line. The launch service comes right out. In the morning they provide blueberry muffins and coffee. The Dolphin restaurant is excellent. During the day their are for use and they'll provide scenic point recommendations. As an indication of how pleased we were, we extended our stay.

Fabulous food and customer support. Very friendly and helpful staff.

One of the finest marina experiences we have ever had. They employ 92 people to keep everyone happy and everyone working there is helpful, kind, and polite. Both Mrs Saxton and her son, Chris, visited our table at dinner (which was outstanding) to welcome us to their facility. There was no difficulty in handling our 51 Endeavour on a mooring right off the dock. Great stopover.

The Dolphin sets the standard for service and facilities for boaters. The new shower and bathrooms are wonderful and the store is a nice mix of gift items and refreshments (we ran out of tonic and thankfully they had in the cooler). The restaurant is fantastic and has amazing views over the anchorage. Definitely should be on your summer boating schedule.

Flawless, friendly and professional. The Marina and Restaurant grounds are very well kept. The new additional longer face dock will help encourage more cruisers and locals to make this a dinner destination. We came as cruisers on a northerly run up from Norfolk, thought we'd give it a try and are very glad we did. This is our new 'go to' place to bring our guests from away who want to experience the best of Maine.

We were very pleased with our two night stay at Dolphin Marina. They responded immediately to our call on the radio and had a dock attendant waiting to catch our lines as we came alongside. The facility is recently ungraded and in great shape and the new restaurant is quickly becoming a destination eatery for locals and visitors. Best of all, in the morning they brought by coffee and their famous blueberry muffins. Highly recommended.
