Fantastic! Dockmaster Larry is the nicest guy. Super communicative, welcoming, and helpful. The new docks are beautiful. Location is perfect. Very nice to be sheltered from the current that rushes through the cut. Hope they have availability on out next trip through Carolina Beach

Easy entry, even when blowing. Mooring pendant was easy to grab. Will certainly be back!

We have visited Carolina Beach before, but this is the first time using the mooring field. There was a strong storm approaching and we were appreciative to have the security of a solid and well maintained mooring ball. They were easy to approach in deep water and easy to grab the pendant. Larry was very helpful on the phone and quickly answered a question we had. The area is great with the plentiful dinghy docks allowing access to the beach, restaurants, grocery and other businesses.

A lot of fun staying on the mooring ball for 3 nights, two great dinghy docks, one for beach access and the other for restaurants and groceries. Nice town, not noisy or too busy. We will come back.

Larry the dock master was very helpful. Quite, no wake, great dinghy access. Dog park is great but 1.5 mile walk.

We we're in the marina for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very well. The town is well taken care of and the restaurants are close by with all kinds of different choices. Publix is close by.
Marina Response:
Thanks Angelique! Larry & Jarrett

We loved the mooring balls. It was windy coming in but we got hooked up without a problem. The dinghy dock is convenient.

Easy booking with dockwa. Close to Dhingi Dock (which is not close to the city). Dhingi Dock close to the city if you dinghy there.

The mooring is in excellent shape, the dinghy dockage is abundant and easily accessible and Larry the dockmaster is a very nice man. What a great facility for this beach town. I wish other beach municipalities along the ICW would use this field as an example of “catering” to transient cruisers done right!

Forgot to add to my previous review that I have met several boats that had planned to stay at Carolina Beach but were unable to because of lack of space. Hopefully you can figure out how to make a few more available. I had a great stay. Hats off to Larry who helps coordinate the traffic!\nThank you. Seabird
Marina Response:
Thank you George for always staying with us when passing through! Always a pleasure to talk with you. Have a great summer. We hope to see you again in the fall. Thanks, Larry & Jarrett

Great location in the heart of town and very protected. Good new docks, water and power. If you need lots of "marina stuff" (like showers, laundry, hand holding) you won't find it here, but if you want a nice dock at a reasonable price this is the spot. Walk to Publix, hardware, ABC, beach, shops, and a bunch of restaurants. Harbor masters Larry and Jarrett were great too!
Marina Response:
Thanks for the nice review Mark ! we hope to see you on your next trip though. Larry & Jarrett

About Carolina Beach Municipal Marina

The Harbor at Carolina Beach is 160 acres of protected inland waters surrounded by the Town of Carolina Beach accessible from the AICW at the 295-mile marker. The Municipal Marina and Mooring field put you in the heart of Carolina Beach. Grocery stores, ABC, Hardware, Boat Yard, restaurants, bars, Town Board Walk, mini golf, beaches and other provisions and entertainment are all steps away from our marina and dinghy dock. Car, golf cart, and bike rentals are also available to explore the island or to go over the bridge to historical City of Wilmington. There are also shuttles to Wilmington International Airport (ILM) 20 minutes from Carolina Beach.

The Carolina Beach Mooring Field are located south of Snows Cut, ICW day marker 161. Once in the Carolina Beach channel the Mooring Field is just past day marker #5. The Municipal Marina is at the South end of the Harbor half mile past the mooring field. Ten mooring locations and 4 transient slips are available year-round. We have three slips are 20' wide and one slip that is 30' wide. All slips and moorings are limited to 26' to 59' transient vessels. Vessels must be properly registered in their home port, or have travel documents, and insured. There is a 10-day max for slips, 10-day max for mooring, and 10-day max for anchorage in the Harbor in a 90-day period.

For our Mooring Field Customers, we provide two dingy docks one located in the town Marina at 110 Carl Winner Dr. and one at 301 Sandpiper Ln. Carolina Beach, NC 28428 so you can get off the boat and visit our community. From our Marina dinghy dock off Carl Winner Dr., you can access grocery stores, hardware stores, laundry, and many local eateries. Dingy dock in the Municipal Marina is located on the Southeast side of the Marina. There are two pump-out locations in our marina; please call Harbor Master for assistance. From the Sandpiper Ln. dinghy dock there is access to Public Parking Lot with Public Restrooms and cold-water showers, and you are a two-minute walk to the clean white sandy Carolina Beach strand. Moorings are not assigned, if you have a reservation, you may take an open mooring ball. Slips are assigned by the Harbor Master. Slips include water and 50-amp power if your vessel is compliant with the GFI standard. We make no guarantee of power. There are restrooms accessible at both dinghy docks, the marina has no showers.
