We we're on a mooring ball for 2 nights which was perfect during rough weather. The dinghy dock close to the beach was close by and the one in town is close to shops/ restaurants and within walking distance is a Publix. The town is well taken care of.

Marina Response:
Thanks James for the nice review! Have a great summer! Larry

Great, well run mooring field. A really fun little beach town. We will definitely be back. Thankyou

Moorings are great! Only two boats at this time of year also.

Great mooring field! Great area and dinghy docks with many places to eat and shop in walking distance.

It’s always a pleasure to stop at this municipal marina. Larry the dockmaster was prompt and friendly and met us at the slip to guide us in and make sure we had everything we needed. It’s a great stop and close to bars, restaurants and groceries. Will be back!

Great mooring field. Nicest mooring buoys I have ever seen. Lots of shore access at public dinghy docks.

This is our second visit and the same as the last time the docks are well maintained and Larry is such a kind and helpful dockmaster. We love that it's an easy walk to dining and provisions. We would also recommend a visit to the Shuckin Shack Restaurant 😋 🦀 🦐 🦪

Marina Response:
Cindy, Thanks for your kind remarks. Hope to see you again soon at Carolina Beach! Larry

Great, protected mooring ball field, with balls and tackle in good condition. The location is well protected from winds and weather, and a fun, low cost and secure stopover on the ICW.

Very clean facility, friendly and helpful Harbor and Dock Masters. Lots of supply stores and dining nearby. I stayed on the mooring for several nights and then moved to the dock when I had to swap out damaged batteries. Will definitely come back again!

Thanksgiving Day 2024. Hatteras 42' LRC. I made the reservation on the fly as we decided to NOT try the Cape Fear River due to the wind! We snagged the last mooring ball available in the mooring field! Larry the dockmaster is amazingly friendly and courteous. He called to ensure we had arrived safely and encouraged us to call him if we needed anything!

The mooring was clean and easy to pick up. Town dinghy dock is about 1/4 mile away but the town is dry nice

We have not left the boat yet. The moorings look to be in great condition. We are happy for a rest day here in anticipation of big winds tomorrow.

Always a great place to stay

I just really like mooring here. It’s pretty, it’s quiet (at least not at peak season) and the boaters are good about honoring the no wake zone. It’s a very pleasant ride to the dinghy docks and there are some great restaurants and bars an easy walk from the south dinghy dock.

Very kind and accommodating dock master when we needed some extra time for repair.

I’m giving this a 5 because of the staff especially Larry. A boat had taken our mooring. Larry gave us a dock in the town and adjusted the price. There is a free pump out. We didn’t take any power ( not sure if the power was on). The beach was a 5 minute walk and Publix and 2 hardware stores were within a15 minute walk. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Don’t miss the Fat Pelican for a beer. We would return.

We enjoy bringing our 42' sailboat up to the mooring field a couple of times a year from nearby Southport. The moorings are kept in excellent shape and the dinghy landing close by makes shore excursions easy. The staff is welcoming, friendly and responsive - yep talking about you Larry. Can't speak to the docks but the mooring field is a treasure.

We had a good experience! Nicest harbormasters we have ever met! Very friendly and accommodating! The Marina was walkable to many nice restaurants, seafood market, hardware stores, etc. groceries, etc. We had our sails delivered here and even the UPS gentlemen were very nice, flexible and very helpful! Would definitely visit this marina again!

All good quite night

Found an available ball and moored up. It would be good to pet people know they'll need their own painter/painter bridle ready for the type of end they have. Dinghied to town, ate, drank and had a good time!

Nice spot! Quiet, no wake
