This is a wonderful marina if you are visiting Wilmington, NC. A lovely city with plenty to do and see. Wortha a detour off of the ICW.

Our docking went very smoothly. We were met by a dock master from the marina. We were given information about restrooms and showers, after hour codes and local restaurants. Very helpful

Very nice Marina. Lanier was very helpful. He called us to confirm the reservation a day after we booked it and then he contacted us the morning of our arrival to confirm our arrival time, electric hook up, directions and any other needs we had. Wi-Fi was spotty where we were on the face dock, fuel pumps were not in operation but overall clean new facilities and a great location to explore all that downtown Wilmington has to offer. We will be back!

Beautiful marina in a great location. Nice restaurant next to marina or stoll down the boardwalk to other restaurants and bars. Music venue adjacent to the marina if their is a concert in town.

Polite & Respectful customer service and the willingness to accomodate the boater was exceptional. Will definitely be returning to Port City Marina as it appears they have figured out how important customer service really is!!

Great stay for a couple of nights and caught a concert. Facilities at Marina are top notch and the staff was amazing. They go out of their way to ensure your stay is excellent. New shower facilities are great as well. Access to downtown Wilmington is convenient and the Marina grill food was great.

The Dockmaster Lanier was very helpful and accommodating.

Squeezed in between house boats not only cut off the breeze but also the view. Ice was not convenient.

Great place. Need a gas pump and place to buy ice

Great service! The dock master Lanier handled everything. Clean and great location. We’ll be back!

Nice spot away from boat wakes. THere were many houseboats to the North of us and condos on shore, so your view was limited. But nice staff and walkable to many restaurants and town. Battleship North Carolina nearby but they won’t allow you to take dinghy over, must take the $12 ferry, so we didn’t go. Marina Grill is very close to docks and good meals.

Great time, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Facilities were very clean.

Nice marina, nice staff and close to the river walk. They brought the pump out boat over on request. Friday night is fun with the dinner concert series which plays right at the marina. Other than bathrooms/shower which are clean, the marina doesn’t have many amenities. We enjoyed our side trip up the Cape Fear River and the town of Wilmington.

Great location - proximity to down town. Decent amenities. Nice and helpful staff. Only down side was docking between the floating house barges - felt a little confining. Understand they are going to be relocated to a dedicated dock later in 2023.

Beautiful new docks and spot in downtown Wilmington NC. Dock master very helpful. Walk to shops and restaurants. Wi-Fi on its way. Verizon full bars.

GREAT location for visiting town, but a few things are lacking. Was not able to access shower (only 1) before & after office hours. They are working on a Bluetooth proximity system for access, but not working as of 5/9/23. Diesel fuel pump also out of order.

Would have been 5 stars if it had not been for the fact we couldn't use any of the facilities during non-office hours (e.g., showers, restrooms, etc) due to a computer problem and fact they couldn't load the necessary "electronic key" into the open cessamee app used for admittance. The staff was VERY helpful in getting into the slip and all other items. Everything in downtown Wilmington is easily accessible from the marina, and the marina grill restaurant on-site was excellent.

Great, love the access to the downtown area.

Excellent service. We had no problems with docking our boat. My complaint is the marina changed the price of their docking fees because a concert was being held the weekend we came to Wilmington for a mini vacation. We were charged $5.00 per foot for 2 days. Total was an extra $93.00 for Fri. - Sun.

Marina was very nice, with excellent dock facilities. The location for restaurants and partying is perfect. A short walk to all! If driving the ICW however it’s quite far out of the way.

The location is great for access to downtown Wilmington. However, the restroom and shower facilities were far below par for the rate we were charged. They consisted of a construction trailer next to the office, and were not clean. Also, our slip was completely exposed to all wakes/waves created on the river resulting in a rolly stay. Unless they adjust the rates to match the amenities, we wouldn't recommend this marina.

We arrived after office hours. Nice facility but had no instruction for using facilities ie bathrooms showers. Also could find any trash bins.

by Donald D. - Verified user on Jul 28, 2020
The marina is very shallow at low tide. My 2’ draft had props in the mud - in the middle of the basin. However the staff at the restaurant was excellent. The food...not what I expected. More attention to food temps would have made it very good. Would I go back? yes to the restaurant - no to the marina unless he dredge.

Will no doubt be a great marina when the restrooms/showers are completed. A temporary trailer facility is currently in place. Helpful personnel, wide slips, and large turning basins.

by Norman M. - Verified user on Oct 25, 2019
The construction was noisy, all day. The marina will be a great place to stay when the renovations are done.

The marina crew provided excellent service and quite helpful. Walking distance to many downtown restaurants and shops. We will definitely be back.

I had to purchase ($288) and arrange for delivery of an adapter for my 30A shore power cord, they did not have any available. The showers and Bathrooms were in a trailer on the opposite end of the marina. The slips are large and very well built.

by Rob M. - Verified user on Apr 27, 2018
Our stay was terrific, great location, helpful staff, cheerful neighbors. Would have given 5 stars if there was a proper toilet and shower facility, there were only trailers and after 2 years there really should be proper facilities. That is out of the hands of Pete and the other folks working there though, the staff was great.

Dockmasters and security (Taylor, Scott, and Dwayne) were a lot of help docking and offering help anytime. New floating docks, dog friendly. Loved the location—easy walk to downtown restaurants, tours, and shops. Only complaint is restroom restroom/shower, which consist of a small trailer with 3 individual rather cramped rooms. Each room contained a very small shower stall (really, as small as the one in our 34 foot vessel), and a toilet with small sink wedged into corner. The toilet pumped out into holding tank below, not attached to sewer system. Nothing to hang or place clean clothes/towel on except for toilet. Don’t believe there is laundry. The rest of this marina is modern and gorgeous, but restroom facilities are woefully inadequate, especially for price (equal to other marina’s with real restrooms, laundry, and community gathering place. I would suggest lowering transient dock rates until larger, more permanent support facilities built.

Staff (manager, dockmaster, security guard) were very friendly and helpful. There is a security guard there all night. Dockmaster helped us tie up and gave us a choice of several slips. Floating concrete docks and nice pedastels were great. The dockwa page showed they had gas fuel, but they don't - at least not now (March 18). Stop at the Wilmington Marine Center on the way up the Cape Fear River for fuel so you won't have to back track if you want fuel before you dock. The lack of fuel was the only disappointment. Location was great - can easily walk to town for food, shopping and lodging.

A marina with great potential. They have a beautiful set up but just "unfinished". Super helpful manager and staff. We had 3 Dock hands ready to help us come in. The docks are very nice and we had great wifi. They had a pump out boat that comes around several days a week. They did have showers but be aware they are in a trailer. You have to hold the knob on for water to stay on and we had trouble with the showers draining. When we mentioned it to the staff they fixed the drainage problem immediately. Also their fuel docks are out of commission until maybe January. They had to move the fuel docks for the channel to be dredged and that has not happened yet. No laundry facilities. Short walk to downtown and there is a free trolley that runs every 20 minutes. Wish the best to Pete and his staff. I think they will make this a top notch marina.

Very nice marina. Super nice people, and customer service. Was having water issues on my boat, so we needed to use the shower ashore. The marina is evidently not completed, so they have temporary facilities. Absolutely the worst shower I have ever had in my life. Really bad. You spend $102 to tie up for the night, you should be able to take a decent shower. This morning, I opted to just use the hose on the dock, and showered off in the cockpit of the boat. I am sure the marina will be first class when they complete the dock house, but not right now.
