Great service and facilities. Really liked the showers with toilet. Felt like being in my own bathroom at home. Liked the loaner bike idea but they were poorly maintained with loose handlebars and such. I think a couple of hours with an Allen wrench and a bicycle pump would put things in order. TO be really ambitious replacing the seat height adjustment with a quick-lock system would also be a big help. We used the bikes to go to Weis’s supermarket and enjoyed getting a bit of useful exercise.

This was a wonderful marina. We were going to arrive late and David graciously provide a map and a great slip assignment. When we arrived, not expecting any dock assistance, two gentlemen came up and assisted us with everything. They were very friendly and very informative. It is also a beautiful marina. Overall our only regret was that we could not stay an extra day and see the town!!

We love it here! It was our 2nd time visiting and Jim the GM and Dave the Dock master were so accommodating and helpful. Jim stayed late to wait for us to come in as it was a rough travel day. Dave gave us a terrific recommendation for a local hike and drove us there and back. The setting is beautiful, gorgeous floaters as well as high end showers/laundry facilities. Great restaurant too (La Vela) I highly recommend Zanhisers!

Excellent. Nice floating docks, dock hands to handle lines. The bath house is beyond excellent—private individual rooms, a flood of luxurious hot water, and a heated mirror that didn’t fog so I could shave. First class.

Mooring A has a damaged eye on the mooring’s pennant. Had to pull in more pennant and use a cleat knot. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

Very nice place to stop and refresh! Nice clean bathrooms and nice landscaping. The only thing I would recommend is putting a float on the mooring line. I picked ours up and it was slimmed with black mud! It made a complete mess!

We have stayed here a few times and have always had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and always made us feel so welcomed. Marina is clean and well kept. Highly recommend staying here.

We stopped by in late September 2023 and had good assistance from dockmaster Dave in getting tied up. The restrooms, showers and laundry were all first rate. The whole facility is clean and well run, quiet but close to town, and a pleasure to visit. This is my go-to Marina in Solomons.

Very nice marina in a fun little town. The bathrooms are great, dockmaster and office is very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are big, private and very comfortable. Nice pool, and great restaurant. We had a very nice, 4 day stay there.

It's been around 10 years since we last visited Zahnisers, prior to its acquisition by Safe Harbor. We always enjoyed visiting before, and the upgrades since the acquisition are very nice. The pier we docked on was a floating dock with ipe planking. The bathhouse is updated and clean. The new Italian restaurant looked good but unfortunately was closed on the days we visited. The pool seemed pretty much the same as last time we visited, and was much appreciated during the extremely hot (95F +) days. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again on our next sailing adventure.

All goodness. Staff was super helpful and glad all the facilities are up and running now. I miss the marina store that SH killed off to make the new office and “boaters lounge”. Dock hands could use some basic skills training, but nice enough to know what they didn’t know.

Pool & bathrooms were awesome!

They were very accommodating to us especially since we didn’t have a reservation! Love vibe! Definitely going to go and stay longer.

This is a great marina. We have been coming here for about 20 years. Outstanding restroom and shower facilities. One of the best local restaurants is on the property. We docked here 18 years ago, Labor Day 2005. We were blessed with 2 new grandsons during a 30 hour span, while were were there! One born in MD and the other in NYC!

Transient stopover en route from Rock Hall to Crisfield. Very helpful dock crew. Clean facilities. I’ve stayed here before and I will again I’m sure.

We loved docking at Zahnisers for the weekend. Everything was clean and every person we encountered was nice and helpful. We arrived late so we received an email telling us what our slip number was and the combinations to the bathrooms. We asked for a late checkout and no problem. The food on site at La Vela was excellent! The servers in the pool bar area were very nice. An all-around great experience. We will be back!

Great stay. Beautiful docks, showers and laundry facilities. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the shuttle service to the local Weis grocery store. Highly recommend!

Zahmisers has been a perennial favorite when we pass through Solomons. Terri on the dock is somehow always there when we arrive. (Do you ever take time off?) The shuttle to Weis Market, etc. is reliable. In the past, Quantum Sails has been invaluable with sail repairs. It seems the new management is keeping up Zahniser's high standards.

Love the floating docks and new bath house. Pool was perfect and the crushes at the bar were fantastic!

Great Marina and restaurant (La Vela)

July 2021: Our first time here and we love the marina and will be back. Area is well maintained and restrooms are very, very clean. Lots of area for dog walking. We would recommend installing gas grills as in other Safe Harbor marinas. Our only issue was with the shower by the restaurant; could not get cold water; had to turn the faucet off and let it cool down before completing a shower. July 2023 Update: We loved our stay at the marina. The floating docks are a PLUS. Restrooms are beautiful, the pool and pool bar are enjoyable, and the new restaurant on site, La Vela, is fantastic. Dave, our dockmaster, was courteous and very helpful. We will definitely return.

Fabulous staff, great pool, free bike use, walking distance to many restaurants. La Vela Restaurant on site but need advance reservations. Excellent Food! Updated bathhouses but needs more frequent cleaning, especially the shower area grout.

Zahnisers continues to be one of the best marinas on the bay. The renovations by Safe Harbor are outstanding. In 2021 and 2022 we did the ICW and after experiencing several marina bathrooms along the way, we can say the new bathrooms at Zahnisers are by far the best on the east coast. The floating docks, new electrical pedestals, and office are exceptional as well. Great place overall!

This marina has a lot to offer. It has recently been refitted with new, floating docks, new bathhouses. The pool area is nice, there is an on-site restaurant, which is very good and it is walking distance to town. They also have bikes for longer excursions.

We had a great overnite stay. Upon Arrival we recieved great guidance from Maya and she had plenty of help to get secured. The new floating docks are fabulous as was the bathhouse facility. We look forward to stopping again on our way back from Washington, DC.

Excellent facilities! Restrooms, bathhouse and pool were immaculate. The dock captain was professional, friendly and thorough regarding all matters.

While the marina is very nice and the facilities were clean and looked new, the pool bar and restaurant were closed Monday and Tuesday of our stay, the day prior and of the Fourth of July. I can understand this being the policy since those are generally less busy days, but for the Fourth of July? Everyone at the pool was disappointed! From my understanding, the pool bar and restaurant are subleased and the owner did not want to be open on the fourth. Had we known this, we definitely would have docked elsewhere for the holiday.

Have stayed at this facility twice. Each time was excellent. Facilities are first rate, dock crew very responsive and professional, and close to town. Easy walk to restaurants as well as an Italian restaurant on the premises. Did I forget to mention the pool??? It was quite refreshing. They also have a pool bar but I can’t comment as we didn’t use it

The dock office closes too early so I could not get a slip it was just after 5pm. Also moorings are charged by the foot. Otherwise great marina.

This place is tough to beat, highly recommend.

Have been coming to Zahniser's for several years now. We were pleased with the new floating docks and renovated bathrooms. Also very happy to have the pool bar back open. I had accidentally reserved a mooring ball. But the deck crew was more than accommodating in switching us to a slip. We love Solomon's and will continue to come back.

We have been to Solomon's many times, but this was our first time at Zahnisers. Unfortunately the weather was terrible, so we did not get to use the pool, but the new floating piers were excellent, WIFI was the strongest of any marina we visited on our 2 week trip, bath houses were newly renovated, clean and cool, dockhands were helpful and the on-site Italian restaurant was steps away from our slip. We will definitely be back!!

Very nice, recently updated shore facilities. Active Capt description no longer correct, boat size and price no longer printed on ball and Instructions to pick any open appropriate ball not clear. Staff was helpful, pool nice, bikes and offer to shuttle to supermarket. Price for a ball is double of expected, $1.50/ft but still half of a slip. Wouldn’t hesitate to return for a few nights

GM, Jim, and his staff were great. The new restaurant La Cela, has re-opened the pool cafe with a fun menu and daily drink specials. I was not able to eat at La Cela as they book up very early in the day or even the day before. A lot of structural upgrades are underway. The new floating docks are great and they are paving the parking areas over the coming weeks. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and peaceful spot. Docks were great, and showers/bathroom areas very clean and nice. Pool right there and a reasonable walk to restaurants if you don’t want to use the one on site. Would stay again.

Easy to reserve a mooring ball from the bay using Dockwa. Very convenient. Moorings provide good protection from weather and are very close to dinghy dock.

We stayed 2 nights on a mooring ball. Good floating dinghy dock. Bathroom/showers are newly updated, very clean and some of the best ones we've seen in our travels! The laundry room has new machines and was spotless. Best of all, the laundry was free! Overall an excellent stay!

Clean and renovated facilities.

We reserved and picked up a mooring with no issues. The staff was friendly and helpful. I needed my wind instrument replaced on the mast and I was able to schedule it in an afternoon and it was done the following morning. The shower and restroom facilities were new and very nice.

One of our favorite marinas! Great, clean facilities. Friendly, extremely helpful folks. We always enjoy a meal at the Dry Dock. They have bicycles to use and and they’ll shuttle you to a grocery store if needed

Zahniser’s moorings have been one of our go to stops along the way. Before they sold to Safe Harbor a ball was around 30$ a night. When Safe Harbor first took over they changed the rate policy and went to a dollar per foot. For our boat that was a cost of $42. Imagine my surprise when we pull in November 2022, pick up a ball and call the office to register. Was told to register through Dockwa and found the new rate is $1.50 a foot!! That’s a big jump for a mooring! We were just doing an in and out so didn’t even get off the boat to use any of their amenities. That’s the most we have EVER paid for a mooring. I’m thinking we will not be back.

We stayed 2 nights there. We had repairs to do on the boat. Great service. They understood our situation and made everything to help us! Nice peoples and great expertise there.

Stayed one night in October and loved it. Unfortunately the marina restaurant was not open (heard it’s great), but short, beautiful walk to town and friendly helpful marina staff. Great, clean and updated facility. They are still improving.

FANTASTIC showers and free laundry. Brand new washers and dryer’s. Also they are in the process of making floating docks which will make this marina pretty dang perfect. Definitely recommend. Free bikes, grocery shuttle, absolutely top notch marina.

Our stay was on mooring ball C and on arrival we found that the pennant eye was frayed. We secured the boat using the mooring eye instead of the pennant. Am disappointed as Zahniser's is a very good marina but at $1.50/ft for a mooring ball expect better as in addition, the wifi in the mooring field was very, very weak- unusable. The restaurant is excellent but does not require an overnight stay.

James, the yard manager, is all about providing top quality service and a positive experience. Very helpful and friendly. The fixed docks are very old but Safe Harbor will be replacing them this year with floating ones. Complimentary bikes are available. Proximity to the small town center is easy walk or bike ride.

Internet sucks, well it sucked at Charleston, Bluewater and now your spot. Maybe just a Safe Harbor deal. There were no trash cans. Internet is very important in today world, you all need to step up your game.

okay except the boat on my port side had his boat plugged in to the power pedestal for my slip so I was only able to use 1 vs the 2 30 Amp outlets that I paid for. It would be nice to get the second outlet that I could not use refunded ($8.00) Thanks, Jim Berkon 202-420-0942

There are a lot of changes underway. We were assisted in docking by nice guys from the service staff as there are no dockhands currently which was noted in the confirmation message. The pump out is self service. Floating docks will be installed. Helpful front desk and beautiful new bath house facilities were a plus. The new La Vela restaurant is superb.

I’ve been coming here for years and have always enjoyed our stay. We prefer mooring balls over the docks but now at 1.50/ft it is overly expensive. It’s now cheaper to stay at the dock across the way at Calvert Marina for a 1.00/ft

The marina was very accommodating. We stayed the two days of Hurricane Ida and everything went very well. We were able to use the marinas bikes to see some of the island and the first evening we were walking about a half mile to the restaurants and a kind gentleman gave us a ride. All in all a wonderful experience.

Beautiful and accommodating marina! The slip was great and easy to locate and the showers were clean and warm. The staff are wonderful and helped out with a short haul to check the prop and zincs. The restaurant is great too!

Marina was fine as ususal. Bathhouse was renovated! The second bathrooms were close for renovations. There was only one dockhand available. He was very nice and knowledgable but definitivel overworked. The poolbar and snackbar was closed on Laborday weekend ?! This should have been told to us when making the group reservation. The planned Happy Hour did not happen. Also the provided tents were unusable. The tables and chairs were just too dirty, haven't been cleaned in a week. Otherwise a pleasant stay as usual.

The slip was nice, the bath house was very nice. The pools was nice, except that the bar was closed. The restaurant was, well, they don’t seem to know the restaurant business. But the lit house restaurant was excellent. We will definitely will come back, wee liked the place, hopefully by then the restaurant will have new. Management

Nice marina except for a few things...the docks are in rough shape and the pool bar was closed. Apparently it hasn't been open in 3 years! Heard a lot of complaints from slip holders about it being closed as well. Other than that we plan on coming back next year in hopes that at least the pool bar will be back open!!

Safe Harbor Zahnisers offers a pool (best of the trip, with lifeguard), well equipped and spacious captain’s lounge, on-site restaurant (we didn’t eat there), free shuttle service to stores and great staff. Showers were old but clean; showers and laundry were under renovation. Bikeable town, walk to maritime museum was worth the admission. Closest ice cream on board walk was not worth the $.

The Staff was courteous and helpful! They gave us a ride to the local museum and picked us up when we were ready to return. The new shower facilities were beautiful, always clean and well maintained. The boater's lounge was comfortable and had coffee available. The pool was lovely and the grill area well appointed. Very quiet overnight. Highly recommend that you choose Safe Harbor Zahnisers. You won't regret it!

This was a quick overnight for us - arrived mid-afternoon and out super early the next morning. Communication was great, the dock hand was very helpful and volunteered to adjust our slip location when he found out we had friends staying at the marina so we would be closer. The facilities are clean, the pool was refreshing and it was a great stay all around.

Stayed at marina twice on July 2022 trip. Great as always. Surprised they had run out of ice for several days on the hottest period of summer. While they did offer rides to a nearby 7/11 at specified times, I would have thought a big corporate owner like Safe Harbor could have come up with better alternatives. The restaurant is now open again with outdoor seating option and is quite good. It would be nice if they could find a way to reopen bar/snack bar at pool that every misses. Oddly ship's store is now down to just caps and t shirts. Need head chemicals,TP, or sun screen? Need to wait for a ride to West Marine! Sign of too many accountants with sharp pencils!!

Top flight marina in a quality town. From arrival to departure had a great time. Took a complimentary bike into town for two meals. Also enjoyed a meal at the onsite Italian restaurant. Will definitely return to SH Zahnhisers.

Hailed the marina as we came in and were ably assisted to tie up. We spent the night on the T and only used the showers which seemed new. They were well kept and clean. Docks and grounds are well maintained. Nice place.

We keep coming back! That I Dock T has been Our Favorite! Cameron and Melanie welcomed and treated Us well! We planned to stay two, and ended up staying 7 Nights! Hated to leave. Marina location is very central for access to Solomons, and general atmosphere is nice, dockhand was great and new Italian restaurant was fantastic. Docks are in terrible condition, two boats next to us had power issues with no response or help from marina, the great ships store that used to be there is gone and Pool bar is also closed.

Super service with booking and the dock master was awesome. Very protected area to spend the night. The docks, electrical and water need to be refreshed. Bath house adequate. Restaurant on site excellent. Overall a great experience.

Safe Harbor just took over. Very nice new folks and some upgrades are underway - many more needed such as docks, electrical, heads, etc - the Safe Harbors we visted in New England had already made many improvements and were great.

The main bathrooms/showers/laundry were closed for renovation, in July, in the middle of the season, really? Otherwise our stay was as expected with friendly and helpful staff, bikes plus shuttle to the grocery store. 5 stars for staff, management should plan better.

Service getting a pumpout and into a slip was very good. The good heads were undergoing repairs and the usable heads and showers were some of the worse we have experienced. The docks are now really showing their age.

Safe Harbor made an excellent choice when they promoted Mary to GM. The marina she managed in South Carolina was a gem due to her efforts and kindness. We enjoyed our stay and the new restaurant has terrific food.

Love the location and amenities. La Vela was phenomenal. Glad to have a dining option on the premises...and a beautiful view.

Have not been to HHS for quite a while. My wife and I could not get over the quality of the landscape and overall the staff hospitality. The transient pier was also a huge plus.

Zanheiser's is always the best. Glad that the restaurant is open again. Good food.

As always Zahnisers is a great place to stay. The staff are great and the facilities continue to get better.

We always enjoy staying at Zahniser’s. The GM, Mary, is wonderful and sets the tone. Everyone there is more than happy to help and accommodate whatever you need during your stay with them. Their dock hands are excellent. Their pool is lovely. The restaurant on site served a delicious meal. As well, my husband enjoyed borrowing one of their bicycles. All told, they always exceed our expectations.

Excellent service and facilities. The main bathhouse is being renovated but the secondary bathhouse was good, clean and a short walk from our pier. The captains lounge with free coffee and tea was an added benefit.

The dockmaster (John) was very professional and quite helpful. The facilities were nice and the free bikes were a treat to ride around the small town. Definitely a wonderful marina with plenty of amenities. The showers were ok, but not up to the standards of the rest of the marina. Likely on their to do list to renovate and upgrade. We liked it!

Arrived over thanksgiving weekend. Marina appropriately closed for the weekend. Emailed us info we needed. Setting is delightful. Easy walk to town. Clean facilities.

The marina appears nice and full service. We were transist and will say disappointed in the Dockmaster. We requested to stay an additional night and looked into an extended winter stay. Never got called back or word. Had to go into office after passing individual on dock for office to assist with the extra night as he walked back in. When I ask stated sold out. I will say for a large group marina this is not what we have experienced at other Safe Harbors. He might have had a bad day but customer service is something we have learn to expect at Safe Harbor Marinas

Very pleasant stay. The staff was great to work with and on dock to assist. Walking to the Calvert marina was well worth the time. Beautiful waterfront walking in the area as well as several dining choices. Even came across a neighbor offering fruit from their tomato garden to anyone passing by. Beautiful area to visit.

Super quiet nice stop in a mix of residential and commercial marine facilities. Dinghy ride around was interesting to see amazing homes and then HUGE Moran Tugs. Plenty of good food and drinking places in walking distance. We liked Boomerangs BBQ and The Pier for sunset happy hour. Was surprised to see this Safe Harbor didn't have floating docks when every other one we stayed at did......but no big deal tide so small you don't necessarily need them. Checkout the Calvert Maritime Museum the light house was amazingly restored and interesting to see in person. Museum has otters that get fed at 1pm and it was fun to see them too!

Great communication from marina, and very helpful staff when docking. Facilities were very clean, and pool was great. Free bikes was really nice so we could get out and see some things nearby - the Maritime museum is worth a visit. There is a huge white tent set up for slipholders with tables and grills which was really handy. There's a lot within walking distance (~1.5 mi). The marina was recently bought by Safe Harbor and they closed the onsite restaurant. Bummer. The pool bar is not open either. The G-Dock slips (I was in G-20) are VERY narrow (36' boat; 12'9" beam). I barely fit, and my crew had to manhandle the entry a bit. Larger boats (38-40 feet) had to take multiple tries to get into the slip, since the marina wants you backed in. And because the distance from G dock to H dock is minimal it required us to use a line around the outside bollard to pivot so we didn't risk fending off boats on H dock before the rudder had bite (you can't begin your turn until you're all the way in the lane between G and H dock due to how narrow the exit from the slip is). The power plug was a single 30 amp, which we made due with, though we really needed either a 50 amp or two 30-amp plugs. Hopefully Safe Harbor will do some much needed updates to the slips to modernize them.

Had a nice 2 day stay. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed but pool was nice to have on a hot day. Great internet. Docks are a bit worn and there is no breaker for power. Hot power plug!

Great dock crew, the marina had bikes to lend, pool was great. All in all a great 2 days.

Had to detour due to weather so ducked into Solomon's. SHZ was pretty nice. Good help docking. On site restaurant was closed so short walk to town. Dog walk area is pretty far from the docks( my dog is not that well trained after being on the boat for hours). Also we were on the end of the T so lots of water slapping from all the boats going by. Also , wife said no hot water in shower, but we had fun.

Safe Harbor is doing great things. Super friendly customer-service focused & competent staff. Excellent amenities and finally re-opening a ‘top notch’ restaurant very soon!

Great dock hands. Ben did a fantastic job getting us into a tight slip. Marina grounds and the pool were in great shape. Very much needed after a hot day cruising on the bay.

Lovely marins with professional staff. We are having to stay while they replace a bent propeller shaft on our boat due to it being improperly hauled at our home marina. Hope to relocate here for next year. We have another reservation until the work starts in a few days and are looking forward to it. Lovely pool. The only disappointment is the pool bar is closed as well as the restaurant as both are being remodeled. Great private showers and an on-site laundry.

Stayed here years ago, when the restaurant and pool bar were open- before it was a big conglomerate situation. Was wonderful back then. A lot has changed. The entire staff is friendly enough but everyone is watching the clock. Came in at 4:30, which seemed to be an issue. Office closes at 5:00, went to get ice at 5:01 and they were gone. We were told the pool bar and restaurant were closed for renovations, not one worker in or out, very disappointed.

We absolutely love this Marina; second only to our own. -Easy to find/approach. -Nice facilities (especially once the restaurant and pool bar open back up again. Really like the pool. -Incredibly friendly staff. -Very clean bathrooms and showers. -Easy walk to town without being in the midst of it. -Self-serve pump-out that is easy to approach and use. Can't say enough good things!

Zahniser's is excellent all around, i.e. facilities, location and management exceed expectations.

Relaxing town to explore while at the marina. The lack of a marina restaurant is why I can only rate it a four out of five.

Stay at Zahnisers was nice, bathrooms are better than some other marinas. No gas for grills and pool closed promptly at 6pm, wish it was later. Finger piers are very short, approximately 5 feet which made getting on/off the boat challenging.

First time here after having stayed at two other marinas in Solomons in the past. This is our favorite and we will definitely be back. Docks are older but quite serviceable. We had a nice T dock near the pool next to our friends who were traveling with us. Restrooms are sparkling clean day and night. Pool is nice but could use a little more shade, maybe some of those big overhead shade sails? We have two small dogs and there was enough grassy areas to walk them. They also like to take long walks and the surrounding neighborhood was really nice for that. Some marinas do not have much around them. There are a few pavilions with tables you can eat at and a few picnic tables under trees. Gas grills would be a perfect addition like other local Safe Harbor marinas have. Easy walk into town for ice cream and restaurants. Marina also has a shuttle to the local grocery store which is a great idea! Dockhands were knowledgeable and nice. Overall a great experience and we will be back later this summer!

Always a great place to stay. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great facilities, super pool. Full service yard if needed. This is our go-to spot in Solomons when sailing up or down the bay. You really can't beat the facilities and being close to all that the town offers is a bonus.

Have been to Zahnisers over 20 times in last 15 boating seasons (Covid affected). Always a good experience. Courteous and knowledgeable staff; professional marine facility; close to town; great pool for family - grandchildren, parents, grandparents. walking distance to CMM, one of the best maritime museums in the country.

Great marina my only complaint was the pool closed at 6 pm after a long hot sail and we arrived at 4:30. Pool should stay open to 7 pm on summer nights. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars

Excellent marina, nice little town

Zahnisers is the gold standard of marinas: clean, well maintained, extensive facilities, well protected, close to the Bay, efficient and friendly staff, quick to answer radio calls ... you name it. Can't wait to have the Dry Dock Restaurant return (we're told July 2021); we will drive down for the great meal and view! Note the marina does not have fuel, but nearby marinas do.

The marina is nice. We enjoyed the pool and facilities. The slip holders were not very welcoming to the transients. Some were outright rude.

The marina was very well cared for and convenient. Even with arriving late our slip was reserved and well marked.

I broke down and was towed into Safe Harbor Zahnisers. I needed major engine (and generator) repairs which they took care of expertly and reasonably. Billy Osborne (mechanic extraordinaire) did an amazing job to get me going again. Phillipe (service manager/team leader) was great to work with.

For the majority of that time, I have had a relationship with Jim Sharkey. Jim, older brother Bob, and his family, have been friends in Annapolis, for many, many, years. This past weekend, I was a guest at your marina, and was shocked to hear, that Jim had lost his job, as a result, of the purchase of the marina. Jim has managed Zanheisers Marina for over 40 years, and has an intimate relationship, with every one of its slip holders. This move to replace him, makes me very sad, for the entire facility, and is one you will come to regret. I hope you will reconsider, what you have done to Jim, and his family. We were first time users of the Service Department this season and we were thoroughly impressed. It was clear everyone cared about us and our boat. All of the work was professionally done and the pricing, although not "cheap", was very fair given the quality of the labor and materials used. We would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others. Thanks Zahnizers and big thanks to Dockmaster Mary for the recommendation!

Always a good place to stay. Mary is a great addition though we miss her in Beaufort, SC! Pool is very busy & not socially distanced on w/e’s. Pump out is intermittently out of order (though usually fixed the same day) so plan carefully. On site restaurant & pool bar are closed due to COVID-19 but easy walk or dinghy ride/bicycle to restaurants on island. No gasoline of any type on site for dinghy. The closest Marina for non ethanol gas is Clarke’s point marina past Point Patience but en route to Cuckold Creek/ Mill Creek anchorages

What a fantastic stay! It was my first time to Solomons and SHZ. From the minute I made reservations on Dockwa and a couple of phone calls to the marina, the line of communications was excellent! The staff at Zahnisers was great in getting our 3 boats together for the weekend. From the minute I entered the channel and started my communications, the dock master was extremely helpful and polite. She guided me in like a pro. She and here crew got all of us in our slips and made us feel right at home. A beautiful, picturesque setting on the water. I mean, WOW! The facility is clean and inviting. A very nice pool to get refreshed. Very clean bath houses, from semiprivate to private. Even though there were some restrictions with COVID_19, I don't think we could have found a better marina. First time stay and it was great. Easy t-head tie up and good advice on shoal mid channel on entry. Food was great and some live music. This is a busy place with locals coming and going to take advantage of the restaurant and bar. We will stop by here again.

Hard to get too excited about marinas these days. SHZ does a good job but the pandemic seems to color everything - shorter hours, fewer staff, closed bars, restaurants, etc. Nice place but hard to be enthusiastic....

We had a transient slip for two nights for a 41 ft catamaran at Zahnisers in mid August. Truly excellent experience starting with reservation consultation, help with docking and excellent, clean facilities overall. Bikes available for a quick spin through the Island were great Highly recommend this marina. -Skipper

What a joy it was to take my 1989 Pearson out on the water this weekend after Safe Harbor Zahnisers worked through my small list of overdue maintenance and repair work. Everything they do they do well with attentive service and skilled craftsmanship.

Needed a slip to prepare for a hurricane. Zahniser’s was able to accommodate and was able to stay several days. Nice marina, bathrooms were very neat and clean. Laundry room had two each for washers and dryers. Staff were terrific.

Excellent assistance getting docked. Wooden,fixed docks are small but similar to others in Solomons. Had Called ahead with urgent request for help with my Cruiseair Aircon (Zanhiser was identified as a servicing dealer) . Phillipe sent Tech to my boat shortly after docking and parts were ordered that day. Repairs turned out to be difficult but Zanhisers stayed with the job until it got done correctly. Can't say enough about their excellent service support.

Always appreciate good customer service. Had a great dockhand greet us at SHZ, even wearing a face mask, which we appreciated. During 19 day cruise in July (meaning lots of overnights in marinas for power/AC), this had by far the best pool. Only knock on SHZ is price. How about giving transients a break on quick overnights in the middle of the week? $100 for a 39 ft trawler on a Tuesday seems high. But I’m a cheapskate.

My husband and I arrived prior to the Fourth of July for a three night stay. We were terribly disappointed that the Dry Dock restaurant was closed. We were also unhappy with the management after our dinghy engine was stolen from behind our boat. The management never approach us in regards to this misfortune they even insinuated that we dropped it in the water, when the DNR police confronted them. Poor customer service and no empathy. We will not be back. We miss the small family owned business and not this insensitive corporate marina.

We stopped at Safe Harbor Zahnhisers on our way from South Carolina to Rhode Island and had a wonderful stay. The staff was very welcoming and the facilities are beautiful. We hope to be back on our next trip south! Thank you to Jim Sharkey and his excellent team.

Dock hand, Mary, was very helpful and got us in very efficiently. Nice view. Restrooms were excellent. Don’t count on them having full service boatyard unless you have made an appointment ahead of time. We broke down and they could not fit us in their schedule.

We came in just before sunset. Our slip was clearly marked Reserved with our boat name and an info packet was attached to the reserved sign. Bathroom/shower facilities were very clean and well appointed. We will be back!

As other reviewers noted, the tranquil location is visually appealing and the services are very convenient. We arrived late in the season (mid-November) but the dockside water was still on, the Shuttle service still available, and the Dry Dock Restaurant was still open. Dockmaster Terri organized our arrival (via Dockwa) and cheerfully greeted us at the dock; under Philippe's proactive management, we were able to get an electric part for our shore cord reel efficiently replaced by Glen, and tireless trouble-shooting on our Furuno system by Chuck. We were last here 6 years ago, but with the recent acquisition by Safe Harbor, I hope the old/fixed docks and restrooms will be refreshed.

Well organized, everything you could want, great staff

We had a wonderful visit at Zahnisers (even during the start of off season). Service work was performed by talented staff-- we started calling Chuck the "Professor" because of his amazing knowledge and insight of the electronic systems on our boat. Dry Dock Restaurant serves up wonderful and creative dishes. And Dockmaster Terry was friendly and helpful. The marina was reasonable walking distances to other restaurants and view of the rivers.

We had a wonderful stay. Very nice facility. Great location to get to the museum. Pool was great and it was nice that there was a bar and food available without having to leave the pool area. Also appreciated the use of the van to run to grab a few groceries.

Spent 4 nights at Zahnisers the week after 4th of July. Great stay. The dock master is awesome, accommodating and really knows what she is doing. The maintenance folks are first class. They were able to fix a problem with my anchor and the all important galley refrigerator. With all the amenities they provide, I would highly recommend it for at least a weekend but certainly longer. A pretty marina and the restaurant is good, but the services they provide for slip holders is pathetic. As a slip holder I contacted them several times (via email, phone and in-person) for a quote have a new electric panel installed and to have my engine checked out. They never bothered to respond to any of my requests, perhaps because i don't have a half a million dollar boat as those seem to be the slip holders who are treated well. Other marinas on Solomons Island did respond to my service requests and help me fix my issue even though i did not hold a slip with them.

I love the staff at Zahnisers as they provide consistent, reliable, and pleasant services. I am less enamored with Dockwa. It does not provide the proper human interface when things go wrong. We scheduled a recent Saturday arrival at Zanhisers. Powerful winds pushed us away from our destination. I sent an email to the dockmaster (who is not on the weekends) and luckily a staffer checked that mail and moved our reservation to Sunday. Saturday we had another boat issue that forced us home. Zahnisers insisted we cancel with Dockwa and therefore we received a minimal refund for our lost night of dockage. Computers do wonderful things but they can replace a kind voice helping with the understanding of an emergency situation. I will not favor marinas that have a policy of insisting only on Dockwa reservations. Unfortunately, this means that I will most probably choose another marina in Solomons for my visits

Zanhiser's is as good as it gets without floating docks. Dockside personnel are terrific and facilities are very clean. We appreciate the personal bathrooms. Solomons is a fun place with good food and a short walk away.

Zahniser’s is always a favorite stop! Terri waited for us in spite of our late arrival. Great dinner at the Dry Dock. And the town of Solomon’s is so beautiful! Not to mention a stunning sunset on K dock! Thanks Zahniser’s! See you in the fall...

Iwhat a wonderful marina! Terry is a super host the made me feel like family while I was there. Nothing I asked was out of the question. Even though they were short staffed at the time I was there, the drove me to the grocery store, gas station, West Marine and even a hardware store... Excellent hosts! The facilities were spotless and comfortable. The restaurant was enjoyable. If you're lucky you might run into Captain Phil. Great human being with a sense of humor to go with his knowledge. I recommend a drink and conversation if you're heading to the intercoastal.

Loved Zahniser's. Great facility, easy on/off face docking. Terry was really knowledgable and friendly. The free shuttle to town runs three times a day and picks you up when you're done shopping. We had two really good dinners at the on site restaurant the Dry Dock. We'll be back in the spring.

Zahnisser's is one of the BEST marinas we have the pleasure of docking with. We are always greeted with a smile and helpful hand. Terry and her team are incredible in accommodating all and making us feel like we are important to the marina. The amenities are kept to a 10+ rating and have been that way for years. Had a great stopover. Terry met us on the dock and was super helpful, we really enjoyed the very nice shower facilities and the beautiful pool! Had dinner at the Dry Dock restaurant at the marina - wonderful staff and food. Had some engine trouble on day of departure, Zahnisers quickly was able to provide support and one of their marine mechanics, Billy, came to the rescue. He had us on our way In less than two hours and in the process of the repair was gracious to show and teach me about the problem and solution as he worked.

Everyone was very helpful. The only disappointment was that the pool/bar closed at 6pm. I think a lot of boaters, particularly transients coming in late in the afternoon, would have appreciated it being open until 8pm.

We have always have enjoyed our stays at Zahnisers, however, we have reached a conclusion that in the future we will be focusing our travels at marinas with floating docks.

We consider Zahnisers to be one of the best marinas on the Bay. Whenever we travel south to the Pautuxent or further we always stop at Zahnisers for one or two days. This year we spent two days on our way to the Potomac and three days on the way back. Both times we had mechanical problems and needed technical support, both times we got immediate help and both times the problems were resolved. On the 4th of July when we were in the Potomac our generator quit at 3 in the afternoon, I called the dock master Terry Walters, at Zahnisers. Terry got us a slip even though it was a holiday and she was alone. This wasn’t the first time I have had to call Terry on a holiday and she has always been able to accommodate us and get use a slip with easy access. The courtesy ride to the local food store, the bicycles and the Dry Dock restaurant are added pluses. I would like to give special thanks to Terry, Jim Sharkey, Glenn and Brian.

Stayed a night at Zahnisers with 5 other boats from our club. Our groups was docked fairly close together, the docks were In decent shape and the dock hands were on hand and courteous. Onsite restaurant handeled our large group with no more delay than you expect with big groups and all 14 of us enjoyed our meals. Only negatives were the pump out was out of service and we had to go to another nearby marina for pump out and they did not have ice available on the honor system lime other marinas so we were not a able to pick some up for our before hours departure so a solid 4 Stars which indicates a really great marina that will not disappoint.

The Dockmaster, Terry, was competent, thorough, and friendly, as was all staff we encountered, office and dockhands. The docks (H,I,and J especially) are showing their age; slips are cramped and decking needs replacement.

Friendly and attentive staff; plenty of “T” head slips for our classic and hard to maneuver sailboat; great support facilities for engine parts; very nice laundry and shower facilities; very good on site restaurant/bar, the Dry Dock, and convenient location to “town”.

We always enjoy stays at Zahniser's. The service is excellent, from the dockmaster to checking in to the pool staff. We enjoyed our meals at the Dry Dock also. We will be back.

Caters to sailboats, powerboaters seemed to get cold shoulder by slipholders

Decent docks, excellent front desk for reservations. excellent restrooms, very helpful dockhands. Pool area very nice. Repair facility very competent and timely. Restaurant on site and town within easy walking distance offers other options and shopping. We always try to stop here when we are in the area.

we love Zahnheisers and have been coming here since 2001 or so. to they saved our trip a long while back when they fixed the starter problem on our former sailboat. The facilities are wonderful. Our only complaint is the very aged planing on the docks. But we always make do with that.

Always pleasant stay at Zahniser 's. Helpful dock hands and wonderful staff. The Dry Dock restaurant has improved !
