Sam’s was great! We had 5- boats up from our YC in NJ. They were very hospitable. Food in the restaurant is very good.

Excellent dock staff. Marina very well kept up. Pool area immaculate. Had a great meal at the snack bar. My only critique is their cancellation policy is extremely restrictive compared to most marina's on Dockwa.

Beautiful marina. Dock staff was very helpful with getting tied up and utilities connected. The woman in the main office for check in/out was super nice and extremely helpful. I can't wait to go back.

The place was very nice. However, Mike inside the store was the typical disgruntled Montauk local. Rude to the visitors. Sarcastic guy. Store was crazy expensive and he mocked people that inquired about prices. Ex: "Mike, How much are these beers" Mike: Expensive, you're in Montauk. What did you expect" Really?? This is the face of your business. Time for Mike to go out to pasture. He is not the people person this nice marina requires. Other than Mike, the place was fantastic.

First time here and it was “perfect”. The docks are pristine, dockhands are ready to help with anything needed and the facilities couldn’t have been more accommodating. 2 things that amazed me was the service and the restaurant on site. My travel shore power cords were literally 6 inches too short to reach the pedestal plug. I called the front desk to ask if someone could help and in less than 5 minutes the dock master was standing behind my boat with 2 shore power cables for me to use. No questions asked. Regarding the restaurant; when arriving I always thought that the sites restaurant was more of a snack bar. It looked that way but it was far from it. Food was fantastic. I mean really really fantastic. Couldn’t believe it. Ate there 3 times. Pool was also very nice and the easy access to the water. So in short, well worth the trip and I will be back and probably this season not wanting to wait until next.

just great! love the floating docks, fillet tables, solid infrastructure, perfectly stocked store for everything from catching to eating the fish. nice people there. second year in a tow worked out perfectly.

About Sam's Star Island Yacht Club & Marina
Sam's Star Island Yacht Club attracts a wide variety of people year-round with a passion for cruising and fishing. Fishermen and boaters come from all over the Island and up and down the East Coast to enjoy the excitement of seasonal sport fishing and access to an extensive fleet of charter boats. Sam's Star Island is also host to many fishing tournaments, cruising club rendezvous, and catered events, as well as Sam's Star Island’s own planned tournaments.
With its unique resemblance of a star floating on the ocean, Sam's Star Island Yacht Club has come a long way from the boat yard it once was. Sam Gershowitz and his team have turned it into a great destination for boaters on the East Coast. “It’s a beautiful place,” Gershowitz says with pride. “It’s a yacht club and a marina, and we cater to people here. It's a very comfortable place to hang around.”
No marina in the area offers more facilities and services. The Ship’s Store is one of the largest tackle shops with bait of every type, an expert staff, marine supplies including electrical, polishes and waxes, cleaning materials, marine safety equipment, boat batteries, collectors’ items, groceries, and a full repair service. Visitors can sit down for a casual breakfast, lunch and dinner at Star Island Grill, serving fresh locally caught seafood. Spend Saturday nights at Star Island Grill for live poolside music and dancing overlooking Lake Montauk and the ocean.
