Relatively calm, good tie up, secure. My biggest complaint would be the outdoor house music which plays from Salt and Ash / Queens Marquee until 230 am. When’s is hot and we need the boats vents open, we can’t sleep because the music is so loud. Who is around at 2am in the morning? No business is open!!

Great location, the dock was well built and maintained and the line handlers were fast and efficient. All in all a great place to send a few days or a week!

The marina location I was assigned just prior to arrival was different from the spot I booked and paid for in March. The new location was much worse for viewing the SailGP event and I would not have booked it had I known. I flagged this issue and was told that Build NS would investigate and respond but, despite following up, no response was provided.

It’s not really a Marina, but the location is spectacular. You get a dock, power, and maybe water. No staff, bathrooms, laundry, or anything else. It’s not the place to be if you like privacy, because thousands of people will walk by your boat and many will stop to ask you questions. There are endless restaurant opportunities within walking distance, plus the farmers market and the Maritime Museum. Definitely worth doing for a day.

This is a fantastic facility for visiting yachts. Several floating docks along an attractive and vibrant waterfront and close to the city centre.
Daytime use is free (after online registration). Overnight pricing is reasonable.
We only used the docks by day, anchoring overnight. Good fendering is required as they are exposed to the busy harbour. Things may be quieter by night.
About Halifax Waterfront Marina
The Halifax Waterfront Marina offers more than 1 kilometre (.6 mile) of public berth space including over 580 metres (1900 feet) of individual sections of floating docks, as well as additional seawalls, and large wharves.
Potable water and power available.
Free daytime berthing is allowed only when a day time berthing pass is obtained and displayed. Please contact the marina for the pass as well as rules and procedures. Free daytime berthing operate between 7am and 9pm, and is on a first come, first served basis where dock space is not reserved.
