We spent 6 nights at Dowry due to the last northeaster turned Hurricane Josephine. Several other boats pulled in Friday night and stayed a few days. The marina kindly hosted a cocktail party on Saturday night in the bar area of the restaurant providing snacks and a selection of wines and beer. We met the new owner who seems to understand the business well. And of course, the ever present Joe with red curly hair was a great bartender as well as dock hand. We plan to make the a bi- annual stop on our ICW trip.

This is a fantastic marina. The facilities are great, the loner car is a bonus. But what makes this place really great is the people. You can tell, they genuinely care about the welfare of guests. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We just spent four days at Dowry Creek to get out of a strong northerly blow. The new owners and staff are doing a great job. They were attentive to our needs and we sure appreciated the cocktail hour they hosted one evening. A courtesy car is available for trips to the grocery store or a restaurant in Bellhaven. We enjoyed our visit and will continue to come back on the annual north south migration.

Although the restaurant is not open yet due to change in ownership, the marina staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. We all holed up there for the recent strong norther with high winds and seas. The boats were very well protected. They have the use of a courtesy van to run errands, a grocery store 5 mi away, a nice lounge with the usual bathrooms and laundry, and the pricing is very reasonable.

We spent two nights at Dowry Creek after an 8 hour cruise. Docks were in great shape with clean, wide walkways and the scenery was a peaceful creek mouth. The docks included 30 and 50 amp power pedestals with water. The docks include pump out stations at each slip so one can request a $10 pump out without moving the boat. The facility included a nice clubhouse open around the clock. Private showers and restrooms with towel service are available. We also found the free extra large washers and dryers a special treat. Adjacent to the clubhouse is a well appointed ships store with a variety of goods. We found the prices in the ship store comparable to any convenience store in town. A large pool area was included but closed for the season. A shuttle car was made available as well. We found the staff friendly, courteous and responsive. Being the offseason there were many slips available with only two other transient boats docked during our visit. We feel Dowry Creek is a marina we will return to whenever we return to the Belhaven, NC area.

Friendly available staff, helpful in docking , pump out,fuel… access to car transportation to town for dinner and supplies , clean restrooms and showers with towels. Ono restaurant and daily 15 fee charge for pool ! Would be nice if had late day pool fees for afternoon arrivals

Our local cruising club from Oriental has visited Dowry Creek annually for many years. This year, we had some concerns about the marina’s change in management after hearing reports that it was not meeting the standards of previous years. Our cruise planners worked closely with the current management team to learn more about the available services. The marina staff worked hard to get pool repaired and re-inspected. In the end, six boats from our club came to Dowry Creek Marina for a two-night stay. Our group had a wonderful time enjoying the pool, BBQ grills, and Captain’s Lounge. We used the courtesy car to pick up lunch from the local grocery store and hosted a spontaneous BBQ by the pool. The marina store is well stocked with basic supplies, beer, and wine. We will definitely plan to return to Dowry Creek Marina in the future.

We traveled with a group of boats (6) and spent two nights at Dowry Creek. We had a great time! The pool is open (we grilled burgers and enjoyed them poolside). The courtesy car is clean and in good shape. The captain’s lounge was host to two pot luck dinners and movie night - it was clean and very comfortable. The bathrooms/showers are clean - nice complementary towels. The marina store is well stocked and handy. Slips are in good shape. We pumped out in slip. The best part of the trip was the staff. So professional and courteous. They really helped make our visit special.

They didn’t have the pool opened or restaurant due to the previous owner leaving abruptly. We had boat issues and the staff was very helpful and had a courtesy vehicle for us to use to go into town to get parts and food.I believe the pool is now opened and they are working hard to get things going.

Nice stay. Quiet, clean, free washers and dryers, and a courtesy car! Little store is surprisingly well stocked, also. Staff were professional and very courteous. Highly recommend this marina. It is a must stop on the ICW!

We had a great stay here! The new owners are really trying to make this marina great and that was definitely apparent. Plenty of water coming in the channel and the dockmaster was so efficient in getting us in and tied up safely. The docks are in great condition and some of the slips can be fueled in the slip. The loaner van was great! We were told that the on site restaurant and pool will be ready soon. Please give them a try!

Customer service was great! Met us at the fuel dock and then again at our slip to tie up. Courtesy car was easy to run to hardware and grocery store. (And cute downtown with great restaurants.) The dogs loved having such a peaceful area to walk. Free laundry! Only 2 bathrooms but never much of a wait. Pool was closed but it was too cold to want to swim anyway. Lots of improvements being made. Can’t wait to see the new owners restore this place to the incredible marina I know it can be! Hoping to stop again on our way south this fall.

Nice and very helpful staff. The courtesy car was a really helpful amenity... much appreciated. The docks are in great shape, not floating but the fact that the dock mate met us at the dock and handled the lines was very nice and made docking a breeze. Today The marina is under new management and are working diligently to get everything up and running. It's not perfect yet, pools under repair, restaurant is getting some renovations but I still would go back. *Bonus-saw two beautiful doe, lots of birds and fish jumping in the marina!

Great marina. We like family owned marinas. Dowry has attentive staff. There is pump out at your slip. Fuel is available at some of the slips. The Salty Crab is a fun restaurant at the marina. There is a courtesy car available and a salt water pool. The bathrooms are very nice and they supply towels. We have been here 5 times and never been disappointed. The marina is going through an ownership change and restaurant is closed temporarily but are plenty of choices in Belhaven

The marina has just changed hands. The docks are as before. Thed restaurant was not open, but the lounge and bathrooms are nice. There could be some better lighting along the docks. Needed help to dock because of wind which was provided.
