BDW was a happy accident. After staying in OB for 15+ years on our weekly MV vacation, I was unable to come up with a reservation this year. I chose Black Dog simply based on availability. Best Mistake I have made in years. Not only is the atmosphere much better for families, but the Black Dog Wharf was a fantastic operation. Brooke and his staff are amazing, attentive and understanding. The morning coffee and pastry was an added bonus. Most other reviews mention the clean bathrooms and great showers. I wont beat that dead horse, other to say their showers have better pressure than my home shower! Certainly will be back! ~ Knot Reel Teeth UPDATED 8/24 - The Black Dog continues to impress. The team there is courteous and attentive, always ready to lend a helping hand. Bathrooms are spotless as usual, and the vibe on the dock was relaxed, approachable and neighborly. Without a doubt the most helpful and professional marina staff we’ve ever met and amazing central location. They set us up with fender boards at the dock. I even watched as a dockhand closed up for the night and heading up the dock stopped, put his stuff down, and readjusted someone’s fender lines. You don’t see that kind of dedication often. Plus the whole Black Dog family is just amazingly good people.

We absolutely love the Black Dog Wharf. We are long term returning customers and can't wait for our next trip to the Black Dog Wharf. Morgan and Brook operate a great Marina. They are always on hand to help at arrival with tie up and help at departure. They immediately tie on your boat there marina fenders and boards to keep the fenders in place. Docks and restrooms are kept spotless. Coupons to get fresh coffee and or muffin's are given out for every guest on board during your stay, at the Black Dog Cafe. BDW offers easy access to the MVRTA bus's, if you want to go to OB, Edgartown or anywhere the bus's run on the island. Love the easy, laid back vibe of downtown Vineyard Haven. Highly recommend a visit to the BDW.

Great marina. Showers, docks and location are perfect

Black Dog Wharf is one of those places I'm almost afraid to leave a review for because I'd really like to keep it our little secret. The more people who discover it, the harder it's going to be to get a slip. This family-owned marina has become one of our favorite stops when cruising the Cape and Islands. It's quiet, relaxed, and incredibly welcoming. Most of the staff are family, and you can tell—they treat you like you're genuinely glad you came. And don't miss the Black Dog Tavern. We've eaten there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it's always been great. There are plenty of marinas with nice docks. What makes Black Dog Wharf special is the people. They make you feel like you're coming back to visit friends, and that's why we'll keep coming back every chance we get.

Vineyard Haven and the black dog Warf are our special and favorite summer vacation destination. This was our 34 season staying at the Black dogWharf . The Douglas's do a great job maintaining warm and welcoming hopitality.
