Alred Marina is near the head of the Gunterville dam. It is very well managed with excellent well-kept facilties. Their store is well stocked and affordable. The security is excellent and the fellow boaters are friendly and helpful. The nearby town of Gunterville is worth a visit. I would recommend this marina to any long term or transient boater.

Our second time here. Great place with very friendly and helpful staff. Having access to the loaner car was a treasure and the pool a pleasure especially due to the excessive heat. Easy to get in and out if you stay in the marked path. Fuel and pump out are self serve and was also easy to get to.

Easy in, easy out. Fuel dock is simple and self serve. Very close to Guntersville City Harbor.

Great just like last time. Quiet marina, helpful staff, got use of the courtesy car, and Guntersville has some very good restaurants. We went to Crawmama's going upriver and Mike's Steak House going down. Both great in very different ways. I very much recommend this stop.

About Alred Marina

Alred Marina is located on Lake Guntersville at Tennessee River MM357.4. The cove in which the marina is located was once inhabited by the Cherokee Nation. After TVA flooded the region, the land where Alred Marina is now located was cut off from the main peninsula that is now the city of Guntersville.

No wonder we are a favored destination on the Tennessee River! Up to 80 foot slips, mostly covered, on-site marine repair, the ONLY complete ship’s store on Lake Guntersville, picnic area, walking trail, haul-out and tram facility…and now THE FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT COMPLEX complete with swimming pool, kids’ splash pad and grilling area. Alred Marina is on Lake Guntersville, located on the Tennessee River at mile marker 357.4 in northeast Alabama.

The marina was constructed in the 1950's by the Alred family of Guntersville. The current owners, Bill and Judy Cranford purchased the marina in 1996. Their son, Russ, manages the facility and handles day-to-day operations.
