Five stars only because we can’t give more. The staff - led by Ryan is beyond compare - super helpful, knowledgeable, cheerful, great all around! Additional shout outs to Spider, Aidan, really everyone on the Team! Always there to tell you what weathers coming, check on your lines, accommodate a pump out….. etc. and always with a smile! Most Vinyarder’s knows Menemsha is home to the best sunsets ever, freshest seafood from TWO outstanding, long-standing family run businesses (Larsen’s and Stanley’s Menemsha fish market) and best gas and convenience station also a family operation and great morning coffee, afternoon shaved ice, pop up local farm flowers or bread, walk to antique shops like coppersmith with outstanding art, Pandoras Box, or take a walk down to the Chilmark Store or Bettlebung Farm! You could spend endless days here, and make sure to dip into the water and get you fishing line wet and you’ll be sure to have tight lines! Simply the best of people and purest of places! Plenty to do or just be… This place is the best!

Chilmark Harbor is a lovely setting, but be fully aware of the extremely tight pilings. Two years in a row we've visited. The first year the adjacent boat suffered material damage while squeezing through pilings, and this year it was our turn. The staff both years initially assigned slips with widths less than our beam (which they have in our reservation), even when I called ahead to confirm my beam and the assigned slip's width. Everyone is familiar with what I am describing, but no one is sharing this in their review. Be informed and prepared if booking a slip. It will help you better enjoy your stay, in what is otherwise a beautiful harbor and community.

Best hidden gem marina to stay. Dockhands are nice and attentive. The most flexible and responsive in all of the Cape. Menemsha pond is a special place with super clear water. Quiet and peaceful with best sunsets. We visit 2-4 times a year. Near perfection. The only drawback is they don’t have a pump out boat and their dock pump out doesn’t reach the slips at the end

Always a great stay at Menemsha and the Harbor Master (and staff) are top notch. Ready to assist at anytime and happy to share info/recommendations. Take some time in the morning to have a small cup of coffee with the regulars and take some time at night to watch the best sunset in Martha's Vineyard.

About Chilmark Harbormaster (Menemsha Harbor)

Welcome to Menemsha Harbor. Our aim is to uphold a well-organized, secure, respectful, and family-friendly marina experience. Menemsha Harbor is open to both recreational boaters and commercial fishermen. The village's historic harbor is a departure point for local fishermen, many of whom come from fishing backgrounds that span multiple generations.

In addition to booking a trip with one of our Charter Fishing Captains, visitors can enjoy the public beach near the harbor, take the bike ferry across Menemsha Pond to Aquinnah, and savor freshly prepared seafood at various dining establishments. The area is renowned for its stunning sunsets.

We offer two transient moorings inside the harbor that can accommodate up to three (sometimes four) sailboats. Just outside the breakwater in the outer harbor, there are eight single-occupancy moorings available for sailing or power vessels. If you have a sailboat and require a mooring, we will assign one inside the harbor by default unless specified otherwise. For power vessels, the outer harbor mooring field is the only mooring option. WE DO NOT PROVIDE A LAUNCH SERVICE, however, we offer complimentary dock space for dinghies at the town dock.

Docking options include 17 transient wet slips and a 120-foot linear transient dock on the east side of the harbor. Larger vessels, up to 85 feet long, can be accommodated on the west side of the harbor (West Dock). The inlet often experiences a strong current, and most of our slips require backing in between freestanding pilings. Docking may pose challenges for less experienced boaters, but our team is always ready to offer guidance and support as needed.

If you reserve a slip, you will be assigned to a floating dock slip if one is available. In the event that a floating dock slip is not available, you may be assigned to a fixed dock or a position along the bulkhead. If you would like to specify that you are only interested in a reservation for a floating dock, please include this information in the "Special Request" section of your reservation request.

Our harbor has been dredged to a depth of 9 feet MLW.
