Always a great visit to Menemsha but this trip the weather was in 11 on a scale of 1-10! Friendly neighbors and great to see old aquaintances. Fishing was fun, water crystal clear, seafood delicious and ooh the sunset was top 10

Beautiful and quiet location. VTA bus route #4 stop right at Menemsha Beach lot making it easy to go anywhere on MV ($8/day unlimited pass). We were assigned an outer mooring due to late arrival, which was calm except for the two nights winds gusted over 20kn from SW and N (E to S is leeward of land). Definitely going back again!

The harbor and area are great. We stayed on an outside mooring which was nice except when boats came in and out of the marina. There should be a No Wake zone to keep the waters calmer for boaters on the outside moorings

Harbor Master is a great dude, allowed us to try the dreaded 4 pylon back in multiple times. Eventually we gave up, but he was willing to let us try and try. Rafted up with the other sailboats and was refunded the difference! Great food on the dock too!

Love this place ! If you like glitter and glamour and white table cloth, don't come here. If you would like the real Martha's Vineyard of years ago and it's people that make you feel so welcome, then this is the place to come....thank you Marshal and Katie....Ryan, Spider, and Adam....the Larsen's.... About Chilmark Harbormaster (Menemsha Harbor)

OUR FALL HOURS OF OPERATION ARE 8 AM TO 5 PM DAILY. Welcome to Menemsha Harbor. Our aim is to uphold a well-organized, secure, respectful, and family-friendly marina experience. Menemsha Harbor is open to both recreational boaters and commercial fishermen. The village's historic harbor is a departure point for local fishermen, many of whom come from fishing backgrounds that span multiple generations.

In addition to booking a trip with one of our Charter Fishing Captains, visitors can enjoy the public beach near the harbor, take the bike ferry across Menemsha Pond to Aquinnah, and savor freshly prepared seafood at various dining establishments. The area is renowned for its stunning sunsets.

We offer two transient moorings inside the harbor that can accommodate up to three (sometimes four) sailboats. Just outside the breakwater in the outer harbor, there are eight single-occupancy moorings available for sailing or power vessels. If you have a sailboat and require a mooring, we will assign one inside the harbor by default unless specified otherwise. For power vessels, the outer harbor mooring field is the only mooring option. WE DO NOT PROVIDE A LAUNCH SERVICE, however, we offer complimentary dock space for dinghies at the town dock.

Docking options include 17 transient wet slips and a 120-foot linear transient dock on the east side of the harbor. Larger vessels, up to 85 feet long, can be accommodated on the west side of the harbor (West Dock). The inlet often experiences a strong current, and most of our slips require backing in between freestanding pilings. Docking may pose challenges for less experienced boaters, but our team is always ready to offer guidance and support as needed.

If you reserve a slip, you will be assigned to a floating dock slip if one is available. In the event that a floating dock slip is not available, you may be assigned to a fixed dock or a position along the bulkhead. If you would like to specify that you are only interested in a reservation for a floating dock, please include this information in the "Special Request" section of your reservation request.

Our harbor has been dredged to a depth of 9 feet MLW.
