Could not have been better!, stayed 3 nights and wish it could have been more. Dockhands & Staff were friendly, considerate and helpful. The restrooms/showers were always clean. Perfect location. Can't wait for the next visit.

Just spent one night. Nice docks and good restaurant on site. Cute town with a good distillery for cold beverages.

Always great ! Very helpful dock hands. New breakwater wall

Slip assignment was too short and too narrow for our boat, 51’ Jeanneau sailboat. Dockhands did not work together well.

Very bad cell coverage and it was communicated that their wifi wasn't working well. That made rout planning inconivient. Showers had huge warning that they don't guarantee sanitation. Either they don't know how to clean heads and/or don't understand covid isn't transmitted by toilet seats. Ir their lawyer has scared them to put up signs for plausible deniability. Either way, it was nat a friendly feeling. Otherwise, all was nice. Good floating docks, nice resturant nearby.

As usual the service was great. The dock hands are very attentive and on point. The facilities were clean. Unfortunately the ships store was operating through a window due to C19, but they were able to get what we needed. Will be back at least one more time this summer and maybe a couple of times. It was alright. Close to town which is nice

We liked the marina and Charlie was a big help and worked us in on the last minute. Would have been a five star except we were a little disappointed about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. This is probably as much to do with it being public access during the day. Short walk into town, if you are going there is a short path behind the restaurant instead of having to go around by the road.

Delightful marina with helpful, friendly staff. We don’t use the bathroom facilities so can’t speak to those. Terrific location within a 2-min stroll of the center of town. Such a charming town, even when just coming out of quarantine.

Great marina, great small town, great beach.

by drott on Jun 04, 2020
Great location for a quick trip to town. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9am and after 9pm. Wonderful sunset views from the dock

by duggerrw on Jun 03, 2020
Dock hands did a great job of getting us into and out of our slip in very windy conditions.

Crazy over priced for eating at the Shanty but if you're staying all day or overnight it's fair.

Facilities are fading a little.

Excellent marina with fairly new, wide Floating docks with great electric pedestal for shore power. Bathrooms could use a little spruce up!

by mickeytnsair on Jul 01, 2019
Great marina, glad I brought fenders because the docks were just that and not slips. I'll be back in August!!!

by jazboat on Jun 26, 2019
Great docks and facilities WiFi is week

by rhapsody331 on Jun 17, 2019
Appreciated docking assistance as we arrived. Shanty restaurant on-site was great! The bathhouse is an A on the outside but just a C for the actual facilities.

Nice place on the bay. Expect to rocking though if the wind is coming out of SW or W. Good fuel prices. Great food at the restaurant. Short walk into town (main street). Friendly and helpful staff.

The Dockmaster made sure we were three of us together. Very clean marina, east walk to fun town, everyone friendly in a small town southern way.

Top notch Marina and great staff. Stayed for two weeks and Spencer and his staff were awesome!! Will be heading back again soon!

by earlhumphrey on Jul 16, 2018
Easy access. I didn't use the facilities offered, but it was very clean. The whole process was handled very efficiently due to the experience of the harbormaster and using Dockwa.

Dock master was super helpful when I had outboard engine trouble and called me back with advice that helped me fix it. Great place!

by apuerini on Jun 17, 2018
They advertise a pool and a laundry and they have neither. The marina that does have those perks (Oyster Farm) will not let you use them unless you stay at their marina. Otherwise the head and showers were large and clean. They have block ice! And the quaint little town is .25 mi away.
Marina Response:
Thank you very much for staying with us here at the Cape Charles Town Harbor. First of all we do apologize for any inconvenience. We wanted to respond to your review in order to clarify a couple things. If you will notice here on our page, neither a laundry facility nor a pool are listed under our amenities selections. I am aware of one older cruising guide that had us listed as having a pool but that was a misprint. There is no pool here and there are no current plans to ever have a pool. However, we are very proud of our public, white sand-Cape Charles Beach which is a 5 minute walk from the harbor. Next, there was a Laundromat here in downtown Cape Charles that served the community and the harbor's boaters for 39 years. It was recently closed for business and has been reopened by the same family as the Peach Street Convenience Store. In reaction to the closing of the sole Laundromat here in town, we are currently working on creating a laundry facility to accommodate our transient boater's needs. I must say we are humbled by our available space, as it will only be one washer and one dryer. Once again, thank you for staying with us, we look forward to hosting you again. Sincerely, Cape Charles Harbor

Staff very helpful, facility very clean and well maintained, only thing missing was laundry facility and I understand they are working on that. The town is very pleasant. Brown Dog ice cream has fabulous flavors, i liked Strawberry Rhubarb flavor. Shanty’s resteraunt next to Marina was bery good as was Kelly’s Irish pub

This marina is always lovely...from the condition of the docks to the people who stay there. It's so close to restaurants and so convenient. We always enjoy it.

Cape Charles Municipal Marina is a great place to stay for the night. THe on location restaurant, The Shanty, is the hot spot for Cape Charles. Great food and friendly atmosphere. Courteous Marina staff, cleas showers and rest rooms.

Great staff and beautiful location

by rjshoe on Sep 10, 2017
Docks are very nice. As are the facilities. Worked out well for us this time.

by trilogy on Sep 06, 2017
The Wave action at the dock rocked the boat all night. No one got to sleep. Sunday was blessed with a loud water pump going off all day and that was followed by a night of loud music from the restraunt. Contined by the restraunt employees seemingly playing the drums on the trash cans. The town gave little entertainment value. Skip going and save yourself and get some sleep

by blackfin on Sep 01, 2017
We had a great stay at Cape Charles Town Harbor. The dock master emailed us our slip assignment a few days ahead. The marina immediately answered our hail on VHF16 and had a line handler meet us at the slip. The floating docks are in excellent condition. The restrooms and showers are relatively new, very clean and accessed by coded door locks. There are several restaurants in easy walking distance.

About Cape Charles Town Harbor

The Municipal Corporation of Cape Charles Harbor ably hosts a unique mix of commercial, industrial, and recreational vessels in its protective basin boasting 95 slips, 4 T- Heads ranging from 60 to 120 feet and 1200 feet of dock space. Whether for work or play, patrons enjoy access to the greatest fishing areas on the Chesapeake Bay. Visitors can watch watermen haul in and off-load their daily catches of blue crabs, horse shoe crabs, conchs, fish, clams, shark and scallops. The Harbor’s state-of-the-art public boat ramps are enjoyed by both individual pleasure and sport fishing crafts as well as the charter boats that run expeditions daily for cobia, striped bass, flounder, drum, spade, trout and croaker. Transient vessels appreciate the Harbor for its deep-water slips and docks and short walk to the re-emerging Historic Town.
