Small facility on floating dock freely accessible to the public. No staff appeared during my stay. More than a few people came down to look at the boats, boldly staring into windows. One family came over to where I was relaxing on my boat and asked me to take them for a ride, offering to pay. When I gently told them no, they posed for photos up against my boat. The whole thing made me feel uncomfortable. The dock is at the end of a long pier stretching out into the inlet and is not well protected, but we had nice calm conditions and a restful night. Long walk to restrooms; one of two was out of order. Restrooms are part of waterfront park so they get a lot of use. Park offered a nice place to walk my pups. Lots of folks rave about the burger joint in town, but I had an excellent meal at 2 Margaritas a bit farther down the road.

Small public dock, very shallow at low tide (we were showing less than 5' at a zero tide!) Electric worked fine, reservation sign was waiting for us. Walked to a waterside restaurant along quite a busy road. Stay was spoiled by a couple of youngsters hanging out on the dock, playing gangsta rap on their boombox, asking people for money and peering in the various boats. Also other boaters turning up and sneering at or ignoring other reservation signs .
Marina Response:
So, some context left out of this review that I, Travis Merrill Port of Allyn Security can add to this review. We are a Public dock facility, not a private gated marina so all walks of life have access to our properties. I received the call from user karlboone on the day in question and arrived within 10 mins of their complaint. Addressed the "youngsters" about their behavior and ended their day at the facility having them leave upon discovering their load adult music and combative attitude. As for our busy road, our port commissioner has been in the works with WA State DOT to help along a project to add sidewalks to our busy stretch of WA State Route 3. We are a small community that lacks the big city funding, yet we are constantly working with the little we have to improve our beautiful community. Public docks are for everyone, from the very well off to the getting by day-to-day walks of life. Plenty of users of our humble marina facility have rejoiced about its local small-town appeal and quiet calming settings. I truly sorry karlboone that your stay was spoiled and hope that you can find it in your time to visit our humble community again but it's entirely possible that Public Docks aren't for you. We hope to better serve you in the future.

While the area is pleasant, the marina facilities are lacking and not as advertised. A mid-June stay for 2 days found the water was shut off and the pump-out not working. On-shore showers not open. Toilets not open, replaced with Porta-potties. Power was working but some CBs and outlets are in poor / non-working condition. One shining star is the marina / waterfront park maintenance man, Don. Very pleasant and accommodating, doing the best with what he has. Perhaps lack of funding / parts is an issue. Allyn is worth a night or 2 if you need some provisions, Post Office, NAPA autoparts, or a good meal at the few eateries in town.

Small, but clean and convenient marina. Good walkability to the quaint town, a park in which to walk the dogs, and eateries 10/1/21-our second stay here, Was disappointed that all restrooms were locked and only porta potties available. Other than that, another enjoyable stay.

An Adventure. First, the channel to the dock isn’t marked. Second, on the end of a long inlet that gathers any southern wind and magnifies it, even sidetying is a challenge. Third, the piles are so close to the dock’s edge, you’re bound to hit your rails. A nearby gas station doesn’t sell e-free gas but the small grocery and few restaurants are good. Sadly, the Ice cream shop didn’t make it through covid. The park is nice and the spot pretty. Don, the Maint. Super is very attentive.

I reserved and paid in advance. But when I arrived, there was nothing on dock to indicate a reserved spot for me. Only by good luck were two spots open. Nice place otherwise and quick response to questions from port officials.

About The Dock at Allyn

The Dock at Allyn was completely rebuilt in 2020 to accommodate vessels up to 50 feet. It offers 30 and 50-amp electrical hookups, water, and pump-out facilities. The Dock is located at the beautiful Allyn Waterfront Park, which features a boat ramp and tow vehicle and trailer parking, and the Gazebo there is a picturesque and popular wedding venue. It also offers a big toy for kids, BarB-Q's for cooking out and is home to the renowned Allyn Days festival the third week in July.

Within walking distance are four local restaurants - the famous Big Bubba's Burgers, 2 Margaritas Mexican Restaurant, Allyn Pizza, and Lennerd K's Boathouse, which features outdoor dining and live music in the summer as well as great food. Allyn also boasts a convenience store, a small, well-stocked grocery store, a chainsaw carving studio, a hair salon, ATM, a real estate office, Post Office, and an espresso stand. Just up the hill at Lakeland Village is 27 holes of championship golf, and The Bistro Restaurant. Except for Lakeland Village which is about a half mile, partially uphill trek, everything else is a short walk on flat ground from The Dock.

Uber and Lyft are also available for trips to Lakeland, or into Belfair, which is 4 miles away. Belfair offers Safeway and QFC grocery stores, Rite Aid, emergency medical facilities, two marine repair shops, several Cannabis shops, a number of restaurants - both sit-down and fast food - a large hardware store, a lumber yard, Starbucks, and more.

The Port of Allyn was established in 1921 by a vote of the people. Their primary goal was to build a new dock in Allyn and make our community a better place. The district covers most of North Mason County with Allyn and Belfair being the primary urban growth areas. Victor was also a well established town and had planned to have their own port district but in 1973 they opted to annex to the Port of Allyn.

Today we offer many amenities for everyone to enjoy. Our recreational park is always open to the public and the beautiful views are free! We also offer a gazebo that is rentable for any special events, just give us a call at 60-275-240 and we would be happy to answer any questions and help any way we can..
