Safe Harbor Sunset Bay

First time at Sunset Bay! Beautiful marina, awesome location with views of Boston skyline, lovely little town to walk to, Dock Girls were great (they need to teach the guy how to tie off a cleat, etc.), lovely boaters lounge. They are apparently in flux, with no GM. 50amp pedestals on transient dock are NOT working. What’s disturbing is that we heard from multiple sources that they haven’t been working for awhile, so why haven’t they been fixed??? And why would we be hooked up to them?? Also unable to get the system to work that allows access to the restrooms, clubhouse, and docks at night. Hoping these issues will be sorted soon because we’d love to come back!

The marina is great and as a return visitor, always enjoy staying at the marina. We are thankful that the marina fit us in on short notice on the holiday weekend. The dock staff was very helpful and friendly. We have in the past and again after this trip recommended Sunset Bay to boaters and friends at our home marina at Safe Harbor Marina Bay. Our only negative experiance was the use of the MyPass app to gain access to the boater's lounge and restrooms after hours. We sent an email to the address on the instructions and it was returned to both our emails and phones. The dock staff took our MyPass info but at night we were unable to get into the restrooms. John

The Marina is great, the staff is awesome and we always have a great time. The only suggestion I would make is add fresh water hose y valves to each spigot to allow transient visitors to have fresh water without disrupting full time marina members water supply or wash down hoses.

Great marina in Hull MA with a great restaurant on site. Very nice captain's lounge with new, clean bathrooms and huge showers. The restaurant upstairs in the same building operates a smaller bar within the Captain's lounge downstairs. The docks are a combo of wood and concrete, but are floating. The staff couldn't be nicer and accommodating. An easy walk or bike ride to a village market for provisioning, and Nantasket Beach is a very short walk from the marina. The charts show low water to both sides of the break wall, but we found plenty of water on either side, as directed to us by marina staff. Another beautiful New England beachside community, and Safe Harbor is a part of it!

We had a great night, third time at Sunset Bay coming from Marina Bay. Excellent facility and very helpful crew. Harrison was great on the docks as a big storm came in. Local 02045 made us a nice dinner to go. Will go one more time before it closes!

September 3, 2025 It’s so wonderful to be a repeat customer at Sunset Bay Marina. Lots of familiar faces and helping hands. Great Marina for a short stay, or a long one as there’s now bus service for groceries etc. Thank you to Paul and your attentive staff. Hope to see you 2026. September 2024 We had another great visit to Sunset Bay. This time the winds blew over 30, but we were very safe inside the wave attenuator. Again the dock hands expertly assisted us to land and to depart. And the food was great at the restaurant. Thank you for everything!! August 2024 Again we had a great stay at Sunset Bay. The location is lovely and the new showers fabulous. However, it’s the staff that truly makes this marina great. Many thanks. August 2023. Each year we make Sunset Bay a stop on our journey north. The marina is now first rate with fabulous new rest rooms to complete its welcoming and professional staff. Also, the restaurant has continued to improve so the food is now as good as the ambience. Well done! Marina is located in a safe bay with walking distance to famous Nantasket Beach. Thank you all. Sept 15, 2022 Because the staff are first rate, I gave them 5 stars. Updates continue. Safe Harbor Sunset is a great facility, great location with great dock staff. Everything here is clean and well run. It is an easy walk or bus ride to restaurants, ice cream, grocery and hardware stores. The showers are newer, spacious and always clean. There is a lounge with a weekend bar and good wi-fi. The laundry room is located next to the lounge and marina office. Paul Bilbo runs a really great marina. Plus, he is very knowledgeable about power boat operating, maintenance and repairs

Very welcoming with great dock hands.

We chose sunset bay as it is an excellent base to explore the Hingham bay islands such as Bumpkin, grape, slate and while not an island worlds end. Easily accessible with our tender from this marina. Not a lot to do within Hull itself but the marina does have a well regarded and popular restaurant on the premises. Hull residents are definitely friendly and the town has a summer resort vibe throughout. The Village Market (small town grocery store) has antique charm and is a true throw back, it’s within a half mile walk of the marina. The town of Hull has a number of shore walk areas and very rural in nature, as in sidewalks are an afterthought. As for the marina itself and its immediate environs, the bay is quite shallow with depths as low as 8’ common and widespread. Seemingly mud with rock strewn in. A few shallower areas and a coupe dried out spits at low tide. The docks are prime for replacement but serviceable, watch for splinters as the planking is pretty worn, The staff seem attentive especially upon initial docking, however our dockwa request was several days unanswered but finally was accepted. The club house and bath passcode on MyPass app never was approved during our stay despite asking staff and emailing a marina manager. The name sunset bay is accurate as the sun sets in the distance over the wide open bay. Good views of boston skyline Good spot if you have a reason to be in Hull

Staff was really helpful and friendly. Easy docking for our sailboat on the face dock. Renovated bathrooms and mariner lounge are nice, and having the in-site restaurant is clutch. Docks could stand to be updated, but are serviceable. Bathroom could use more TP and hand towel refills.

the facilities are clean and fairly modern. could have used full soap dispensers and rubber-floormats in shower. also, when marinas want a smaller sailboat to parallel park in a tight spot, they should assure they have dockhands on station and ready to catch bow and stern lines to help pull the vessel sideways into the pier. the looks of the owners of motor boats ahead and astern told it all, as I (fortunately successfully and without incident) angled my Frers 36 with enough (but not too much) speed into a space <40 feet long and then straightened out the vessel -- fully parallel to the pier -- as I came to a complete stop .

The dock staff is great and always ready to help. Great restaurant on site.

Excellent service and staff!

We stayed overnight on 7/26/25. The marina location, amenities, and restaurant are great. On this particular day there was a staff/dockhand shortage which made docking complicated. There also was no reserved space for us, which I have found is typical for Safe Harbor member bookings in general. Overall a nice marina to stop at for a night.
