The best thing about the marina is it’s located right next to a bridge across the river where there is a Publix grocery store and other shops and restaurants. The marina itself looks long in the tooth, has fixed docs, inadequately supported restrooms, and staff that are none too friendly. Good fuel prices, but otherwise avoid it if you can find something else.

Besides Amelia who was terrific as the dock hand, can't say there is alot of good to say about Sands Harbor. The facilities were in need of needed renovations, we were placed on the fuel dock so was not a great place to be -

Sands Harbor Marina is in a great location and has great staff. Everyone was really helpful when we stopped at the fuel dock to check in. Approaching the fuel dock, it's a side tie up and can be quite a haul up out of the boat if the tide is low. Great gas and diesel prices. Free ice. Pump outs are $15 cash. The area is very busy with commercial and recreational traffic. Watch the Atlantic bridge opening before you leave the marina for very large boat traffic coming through in an area that can be heavily congested at times. Most folks are going slowly but still throw off wakes. The docks will experience wakes from the traffic. The bathrooms are adequate and were being repainted when we were there but I'd rate them a C. There is no place to set clothes etc. down. We used the shower on the boat most of the time.
We tied up to the transient wall farthest in from the fuel dock. The docks are very convenient to the beach and area restaurants. The Pompano beach walk is exceptionally beautiful. To get to the beach head away from the ICW - it's about a 5 minute walk to a lovely sidewalk that goes past dunes and manicured greenspace. It's parklike and really beautiful. The city does not allow dogs on the sidewalk next to the beach.
The Rusty Hook restaurant on property is excellent. We had the corvina two nights in a row. The patio is a great place to overlook the marina and watch traffic on the ICW. Houston's is a short walk over the ICW bridge. There are several restaurant options between the marina and the beach. If you need to provision, Publix is nearby and Instacart delivers.

Very convenient to waterway and Hillsboro Inlet if needed. Very nice dock staff.
They stay open late and open early . Great restaurants nearby and easy walk to beach. Docks are older but fine. I like a fixed dock over floating, but that's just me.
Oh yea and great fuel prices.

Great location, Rusty Hook restaurant was very good. Cheap diesel fuel, a little rocky for sleeping as its location is right on the Inter coastal

Nice fixed docks in a good location in Pompano beach. Boats get knocked around some when boats on intercoastal don't obey the no wake zone. Fuel prices extremely low. Staff friendly and courteous but didn't seem very well trained in helping us dock. Coordinator didn't know port from starboard when trying to tell us which side to put our lines and bumpers on.

The marina is a great value. Some of the dock hands are better than others, but the location and value are great. Bathrooms are just OK. Can't beat the fuel price and free ice.
