Thamesport Marina

Marina was a great place to stay, staff was professional, courteous and friendly. Jen was a pleasure to work with and if I needed anything, she didn’t hesitate to accommodate. I reserved the place for two nights for the Sea fest in New London during the day culminating with the FW display on Saturday night. It was a short Dinghy ride up to the river. Just relaxing at the slip was peaceful as well as enjoying meeting fellow boaters. On the waterfront restaurant is a must to dine at. Overall, I highly recommend this marina if you need a place to stay. Fuel dock was easily accessible. I look forward to returning again. Wakes and wash from boat traffic was minimal with their new seawall floating docks. Thanks Jen for a great stay.

We stayed here years ago and remember the horrible rolling from ferry and boat wakes. This visit we were pleasantly surprised that through some grant, they were able to place a huge floating concrete dock system that does a great job of cutting down wakes. Additionally, we were put all the way at the end of this dock and were bow into whatever wakes came through. It is a nice change. However, no one answered the radio when we called and they seemed a little disorganized as far as slip assignments. Overall it was a nice stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Thamesport Marina Mike and Jen are super friendly and very helpful. Nice floating dock with power and water and good restaurants just off the dock. We will stay there next time we are in town

Our stay at Thamesport Marina was great. We have stayed here before so we were aware that the passing ferries can cause wakes. The ferries stop running in the later evening and it is quite calm throughout the night. As such we used extra fenders against the dock without issue. With the TowBoat discount it worked out to $93/day all in for a 58’ boat or about $1.60/foot/night. There is new management since we last stayed here-docks were clean and the dock Manager, Mike, was fantastic. All restaurants at the top of the dock are very good, and range from casual to slightly upscale. Would definitely stay again.

A nice concrete floating dock totally exposed to the ferry wakes. Three different ferry companies operate out of New London so lots of traffic. The very nice Dockmaster told us the ferry’s stop running around 6 PM but they ran until after 10 PM.

Chloe and Mike were great! Very accommodating. Very helpful! Made sure we entered the marina correctly by texting us buoy information and also what side to go by the gallon milk jug that was marking rocks. Block Island was our next destination and Mike shared a bunch of stuff to do while we were there. The burger and ice cream at the marina were an easy meal. Thank you so much for all your help! Stopped to use there pump out station. Was a pretty gusty day and the marina manager Mike came down and helped us get on the dock safely. Would definitely stop to use their pump out station again.

People were very nice but the Marina is pretty tired and in need of updating. Do not stay on the outside, your boat will get trashed as you're tossed on the dock. I was in with a 53' and felt the docking was too small. The marina is attached to a couple of small restaurants and as you walk from the docks to the restaurants you pass dumpsters and garbage. Overall, unless you absolutely need a layover, i would not stay there.

Service was phenomenal from Mike. Very accommodating. Peaceful at night, much quieter than I was expecting. Concrete docks helped knock down any waves. Will stay again.

This was a great stop for us. Easy and convenient access from Long Island Sound. .. where we needed to stay an extra day because of weather. Quick response from Mike the marina manager and his daughter Chloe who stayed after hours to help us fuel up and dock. This is definitely a friendly marina, We have stopped here twice now and will continue to do so. Respectfully M/V ALMA

Great experience and very helpful with a last minute reservation

Ducked in here to wait out some inclement weather. Good protection and Dockmaster Michael could not be more friendly and accommodating. Great restaurants nearby as well. Will be making this a regular stop on my seasonal migrations.

Great people, bit choppy on the outside wall and can someone please take the horns away from the train drivers 😂

Thamesport Marina was very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will be coming back.

I have stayed here many times before and the place is clean and I will definitely be back. This year seemed very unorganized. There was no one really available to check us in just someone (no idea who it was and not a marina employee) saying to take any slip. When it came time to get fuel, we were told it would be open at 11:00 AM, we called at 1:00 and was told more like 2:00. By 2:30 someone was there.

The marina is a little tired. The staff is great, but the overall condition is not very good.

Mike was a pleasure to work with.

We actually stayed a week and were assigned to be on their nearly complete transient floating docks. When the weather turned, Mike made an interior slip available on their fixed docks. He was always a phone call away and helped with several logistical challenges. We had to leave the boat for a few days and felt very secure there. We received a storm report from Mike that was very favorable. The marina has ample restrooms, but no laundry onsite. Fuel prices were competitive. Truly awesome restaurant, “ On The Waterfront “, right next door is not to be missed. Reservations are needed even on a Tuesday night!!

Great location to see all the sights of New London with great restaurants at the foot of the docks. The Dockmaster Mike very helpful and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit! Capt Russ
